If the blood inside the pool, despite its diluted state, was purer than what Alex had, then the only reason he could co up with was that this could only belong to the Black Tortoise progenitor. Only the progenitor could have this specific combination of bloodline elents, assuming he hadn't been mistaken.
There was a chance that Alex was entirely wrong about this all, but the chance was low. Even if he hoped for it to be low, he knew very well that the chances of the Ancestral Bloodline Pool having this specific type of bloodline elents were for a certain reason.
It was very much possible that in the olden days, this pool was crafted directly with the progenitor's bloodline as the main example for Black Tortoise blood, which led to the pool being of this specific type.
'If I'm not wrong, then I should take into account all of this,' Alex thought. 'It will be better if I absorb the purest Black Tortoise bloodline I can in order to evolve my Spirit roots!
Any other person absorbing a beast's bloodline would likely have to fear death, but Alex had previously absorbed the White Tiger's bloodline and contained it for quite so ti.
The only difference back then was the fact that he had absorbed blood essence, which was different from regular blood. But he didn't have to worry about that. He wouldn't charge directly into it all, and if things went bad, he could always purge the blood from his body with a simple thought.
Once he thought of that much, his attention returned to the pool. Sothing had been in his mind for so ti that he hadn't thought about just yet, but since he had nothing else to consider, the thought reached the forefront of his mind.
'Why are the two blood mixed?' he thought.
It was clear from his various examinations that the Black Tortoises'
bloodlines were in fact two different bloodlines, one for the tortoise and one for the snake. As such, he would've expected two different pools in this place for separate beasts. Instead, it was all in the sa place.
Had he been wrong about the difference in bloodline? That couldn't be the case at all. It was more likely that there was so trick to the pool that he hadn't noticed just yet. If he waited around and-
Alex's errant thoughts vanished as the pool activated. To call it 'activation' would be wrong as there was nothing truly being activated inside the pool. There was no formation or any chanism underneath it.
However, there was a change in the pool, and it had happened abruptly.
Tremors appeared on the surface of the pool, erging from a location that Alex could not see. He wasn't sure there was a source for the tremor at all, and it was sothing that suddenly appeared everywhere at once.
Alex focused his attention on whatever was going to happen next as only now was sothing new happening in the pool. His senses searched for the other changes in the pool, and then Alex noticed sothing astounding.
The blood inside the pool, one that belonged to both the snake and the tortoise, was slowly separating from each other. He almost thought that the blood was beginning to repel each other, and only belatedly realized that was not the case at all. Instead, the blood was actually being pulled toward sothing.
The two beasts that had been cultivating for quite so ti now were starting to attract the blood.
The separation of the bloodline ca with so surprise to Alex, but beyond that, nothing happened.
Alex frowned for a mont as he failed to fathom how that could be
the only change. The respective blood for each of the beasts had gathered around the two beasts, so sothing had to happen, right? Alex waited for so ti for anything else to happen, but he failed to notice any changes at all. The tremors still continued and the blood still separated as they moved toward the two beasts.
Alex hesitated for a mont as he had tried his best to not let his senses reach the two beasts as much as he could. He had promised to not disturb them after all. But since he could understand nothing at all, he feared that he had no choice in this matter.
As carefully as he could be, Alex prodded the snake's body, checking on the outside for anything that was changing. The beast was cultivating all the sa, although Alex could tell that it had entered a state of trance. It was very much possible that it was forced into the trance state.
The beast itself revealed nothing to Alex in regard to the changes that were taking place, but its surroundings were a different matter.
Alex saw the blood that gathered around the snake and noticed sothing very interesting happening with the blood alone. To his surprise, the bloodline elents within the pool were slowly moving toward the respective beasts.
Alex's eyes widened slightly when he noticed that.
'How is this happening?' he thought, trying to find any reason why the bloodline elents were moving. He could see no movent of Qi or any other aura, so the bloodline elents were moving all on their
own.
Alex kept his senses on the snake, watching slowly at what happened to the elents. Just as he expected, the bloodline elents entered the beast right through the skin.
Alex could hardly believe his eyes. The thing that he had only just thought he had discovered had been sothing that the beasts had unknowingly been doing in the Ancestral Bloodline Pool for all this
ti.
They were using the pure blood to help the beast cultivate, thus absorbing the bloodline as their own. The beasts were also in a trance so they hardly knew what was happening to begin with.
Alex watched as he wondered if evolving was really just as simple as absorbing all the bloodline elents.
'Is this really all there is to a beast's evolution?'
