The first beast they did the test on was a young female jaguar in the Saint Foundation realm. She was the daughter of one of Bai Jingshen's daughters. His daughter hadn't been born with enough of the bloodline, and thus had married one of the palace guards.
His granddaughter lacked most of the bloodline too, but she had just a hint of it, which was all that Alex really needed to test out his theory.
"Rember, if this fails, she needs to be taken to the Ancestral Pool imdiately," Alex said. "I don't think we can rely on the Divine soul." Bai Jingshen nodded. "Little Tuanxi won't fail."
"I won't, grandfather," the young jaguar said, projecting the utmost confidence in her voice.
Since she was ready, Alex began the task. He taught her what it was that she needed to do and had her start the process of Bloodline Consumption. Each ti she cultivated with just a bit of the blood, her bloodline improved by leaps and bounds.
Bai Jingshen couldn't help but watch in pure shock as the rate of her bloodline's improvent far surpassed his expectations.
Alex slowed it down just a little to not rush her, but even then the improvent was noticeable. For soone who basically didn't have the bloodline, the little that she had gained in just a few minutes could only be called miraculous.
Alex waited until the first session was over before stopping for so ti. He let the jaguar cultivate, getting used to her own bloodline. He also needed to let her soul catch up slowly.
Her bloodline was so weak in that mont that if he were to overdo it, the difference between her body and soul would wreck her entirely. There would co a ti for that, but he had to be patient first.
With each session, the jaguar got better at absorbing the bloodline elents in as little ti as possible. By the third session, Alex didn't have to give her any more commands as she fully consud it all on her own.
Alex waited for a bit to let the jaguar recover before turning toward Bai Jingshen. "I think we do one more session and then move directly into the evolution sessions."
Bai Jingshen nodded. "Tell whatever it is that I need to do." Alex nodded.
Tuanxi went through the final session, at the end of which her bloodline had improved enough to be at the rate that would be best if she was sent to the Ancestral Bloodline Pool. The chances of her success there were so much that had it not been for the necessity of this test, he would've taken her there himself.
While everyone else waited for the real thing to begin, Alex made the necessary precautions and preparations. He told the jaguar what was going to happen to her next.
"We're going to start off slow at first, and the blood you'll be absorbing will be weak. However, as ti goes on, it will get stronger and stronger. And this ti around, it will get so strong that your body will want to tear itself apart."
Alex's words caused the jaguar to be stunned silent. She couldn't make a sound as she just stared at him.
"Even when it hurts, you'll need to continue absorbing the blood just as I taught you. The mont you stop, you die."
It took a mont for those words to go through the beast's head. In the end, she nodded with grim determination, accepting whatever fate it was that was coming toward her.
"Be brave, little Tuanxi," Bai Jingshen said from the side. Even though he rarely interacted with his children and grandchildren, he still loved them very much.
After everything was said and done, it was ti to begin.
Alex began by giving Tuanxi a steady flow of weak blood to consu. She consud it with no issue at all. Alex stopped for a mont, depriving her body of anything to absorb before sending another portion, this ti slightly stronger.
Tuanxi absorbed it again, and once again Alex stopped for so ti before resuming. When he resud, the blood he sent was stronger. This was the thod the Black Tortoise progenitors had used on the beasts inside the Ancestral Bloodline Pool, which was what Alex was attempting to emulate. The thod to turn the soul of the evolving beast to grow flexible was to push the bloodline into its body with an ebb and flow to the blood.
Like ocean waves on the face of a tall cliff, they splashed helplessly against it, before receding and coming back stronger. Do that enough tis and the waves would reach a montum where it would destroy the entire cliff.
That was the essence of the technique Alex was using.
Each ti he stopped and resud, he improved Tuanxi's bloodline
rapidly. And unlike the pool where a lot of the bloodline elents
were going to waste, Alex had little to no waste at all.
Even though he had less blood to work with overall, because of his efficiency, he was doing much better than them.
Many hours passed before anyone even realized, and for the first ti since the evolution started, Tuanxi finally showed signs of pain.
Alex's eyes widened slightly, noticing the speed of it all. He feared for a second if he had pushed her body too fast, and if her soul was failing to catch up. When he watched this process inside the Ancestral Bloodline Pool, it had taken the beasts there nearly a week to show these expressions.
'Am I really too quick?' he thought, but then he shook his head. The evolution he had seen wasn't the norm. Sotis it took longer,
sotis it took shorter.
This would be one of the short ones.
Alex continued for another few hours, the blood he poured now growing so concentrated that Tuanxi was just monts away from screaming in pain. Her body was about to burn out with wounds all
over.
It was about ti to bring out Jungwen and get him ready to join the
show.
