Alex got through forty or so birds before he saw the next island erge in the distance. There were still many more tongues of fla to devour, but sadly he would have to move on.
He stepped onto the next island, ready for the next trial.
This ti, he saw just a plain grassland, with nothing that looked like an obstacle to him.
The master of the trial erged from the lava, taking flight in the sky.
"Your trial is simple. Reach the center of the island while surviving the pressure that cos down upon you. Beware, even Divinities will succumb to this pressure. You have five hours."
Alex frowned upon hearing that. Was the pressure this ti not supposed to be individual to the people based on their cultivation base? Now that he thought about it, it had stopped being about the individual since the poison island.
That island was not ant for an Immortal at all, with all the
Divine-rank poison that was all around. The last trial was also not for an Immortal.
And this ti was the sa.
Alex took a step forward and imdiately felt a pressure akin to five realms above his own cultivation base. It was as if he was right back on that volcanic crater, resuming his journey from where he had stopped in the 5th trial.
As he began walking, Alex quickly realized this wasn't going to be as simple as he had initially thought it was going to be. With each step he took, the pressure increased rapidly.
By the ti he was just a tenth of the way to the center, the pressure grew to the point where it would have been enough to stop him had he only been relying on his cultivation base.
There was still an individuality to the pressure that ca down upon him, as it was using him as a baseline for how much more pressure to place on him, but the upper limit had been removed and the incrent had been made exponential.
He continued walking, still able to manage the pressure thanks to his body cultivation. He attempted just once to use his Intent to fight off the pressure and understood very quickly how bad an idea that was. The chances of him successfully keeping the pressure off him using his Intent even until just the halfway point were zero.
There was no way he was going to get to the center that way.
The pressure kept mounting upon him, increasing steadily. From the Immortal Spirit 1st realm, it reached the Immortal Spirit 9th realm in just the ti it took him to reach one-fifth of the way to the center.
And then, not even a few minutes later, the pressure was strong enough to make a new Divinity sweat. Alex's body cultivation was around Divine Creation 3rd realm, so he could continue for so ti.
But by the ti he was three-tenths of the way through, the pressure upon him reached the Divine Creation 3rd realm and exceeded it. At that point, there was nothing Alex could do using his regular cultivation, body cultivation, or even his blood that could allow him to continue.
Which was why he had to rely on sothing else entirely.
Alex took a deep breath and let the pressure crash onto his body, free of any pushback from him. As soon as it happened, as if a switch had been flicked, warmth sprang forth from deep within Alex, the aura pushing against the pressure.
The pressure was very much still there, but Alex could stand up and continue walking. He was slow, each step taking many seconds to put forward, but so long as he could move, that was enough.
The pressure improved trendously as he kept walking, but his Sun
God's body could repel any and all pressure that landed on him. Thanks to that, the rest of the journey beca surprisingly easy for Alex.
The master of the trial hadn't lied. The pressure within that trial had been strong enough to stop even Divinities. However, Alex cheated his way out of the trial by having a body that could move despite the pressure, as if fully ignoring it.
When he arrived at the center and finally stepped onto the platform, the pressure vanished. The fountain of warmth within his body also vanished at the sa ti, leaving nothing but a sense of relief within Alex.
He sat down, his chest lifting and falling with each deep breath. He explained the situation outside to Pearl and Scarlet, whom he hadn't had the ti to communicate with since the trial started.
Only now did he tell them what he had done and how he had passed.
There wasn't much ti remaining before the trial was to co to an end, so Alex could only cultivate for a short ti, regaining the Qi and spiritual energy he had lost.
That bit of rest was enough for him to be ready when the five hours passed and the next island showed itself.
Alex told Scarlet and Pearl what was happening as he stepped onto the next island. On this island, he could see so poison plants in several locations, but they were sparse enough that Alex didn't believe they were the purpose of the trial.
He waited for a mont, and the master of the trial erged.
"Fill your Qi into the platform at the center. Should you fill fifty tis your dantian's worth of Qi into the platform within the next hour, you
shall pass."
Alex was left flabbergasted at the absurdity of the trial he was to go through. He told the two beasts in his Soul Space, explaining the
situation.
"Fifty tis your dantian?" Pearl asked in surprise. "What does that
bird want with so much Qi?"
Scarlet was of the sa mind. "Why is this even a test? Who can even pass such a ridiculous test to begin with?" she asked.
"I can," Alex said, looking around at the poison plants, understanding what he had to do. "I may be the only one who can."
