The Winterborn Dragons had a strange system. Until the day their children beca Immortals, they were given no nas at all. When they finally beca Immortals, they were allowed to choose their own
nas.
As such, they had no family nas that they carried, and only a daoist
na.
A massive pale blue dragon in the Divine Domain realm introduced himself as Alex and the rest arrived.
"I am Ashenfog, head of the Winterborn Dragons," the dragon said. "Welco to our palace."
The other Celestials gave a subtle nod in greeting, having expected him to be who he was.
Bai Jingshen gave a simple greeting as well.
Alex looked at the dragon with a small hint of surprise. He quickly bowed. "I am Alex. My greetings to the emperor of this continent."
Pearl followed along, saying the sa.
The dragon quickly waved his limbs. "Please do not be so respectful toward . You are the esteed guest of our ancestor. You do not need to lower your head," he said.
"Oh," Alex slowly got up.
"Also, the Twin Scar realm has no empires. As such, there are no emperors, and I certainly am not one. We have rulers, but it is our family that is considered the ruling party of this continent, and I alone do not count as one," the dragon explained.
Alex nodded a little. "I see. Thank you for enlightening ."
"Nephew, go and prepare so rooms for our guests to rest. It was a long journey for them to get here," Frostsilk said.
"Right away, great uncle," the dragon said and turned to a servant beast before quickly gesturing for it to obey. The beast bowed and left.
The dragon turned around. "Forgive if I'm mistaken, but you are a human, are you not?" he asked.
"I am," Alex said.
"Oh? I didn't expect my grand uncle to bring a human guest," Ashenfog said.
"I haven't told him anything about you, except that you are an important guest," Frostsilk quickly told Alex. "I won't reveal anything else you won't permit to."
Alex nodded in thanks.
The head of the Winterborn Dragons and many others in the surroundings watched the situation with strange eyes.
Their greatest Celestial needed permission from a human to do sothing? Who was this human that he was being so polite toward? They could only grow more curious.
They entered the palace, looking at the tapestries that hung along the walls, allowing spots of gold and silver in the walls to peek through occasionally. The inside of the palace was saturated with strong Divine Qi. The deeper they went, the stronger the Qi beca, allowing the mbers of the family to quickly cultivate.
If even then they didn't beco Immortals, then they were always ant to be trash that could never rise to gain a na.
Alex wondered what happened to them.
Ashenfog explained a brief history of the Winterborn Dragons as they walked through the massive hallway, leading to a hall. The progenitor of their family, Bluescales, was a fearso beast that was apparently said to have reached the mythic realm known as the Celestial Firmant realm.
It was unclear how he had done it, but it was said that he had in fact reached such a high realm. His death had co due to so complications in the end, which the head didn't go into too much detail on.
They arrived at the main hall of the palace, where various servants of the family brought out refreshnts for Alex and the rest to try. Each piece of fruit he ate, and each swig of a drink he took made him feel like he was in heaven. It had been such a long ti since he had consud anything at all besides bitter poisons, so this being the first thing he ate since then enhanced the flavor so much more.
As they sat around and talked, a second Celestial arrived in the hall, greeting everyone and especially Alex.
Alex could tell right away that this one knew who he was. While Frostsilk may not have told anyone else, he had told the Celestials at least.
"Greetings. I am Hailcloud," the dragon introduced himself.
Alex, Bai Jingshen, and Pearl quickly introduced themselves as well, while the Patriarch and the Tortoise Celestial rely nodded in greeting. Having lived as long as they had, they had t almost every Celestial out there.
Their conversations continued. As ti went on, Alex understood more about the family and their dynamics. It soon beca apparent that only the strong ones were treated fairly in this family, while the weaker ones were almost always forgotten.
Even if they were a Winterborn Dragon, they weren't allowed to gain the title of being the Ruler of the First Scar.
So ti later, a servant walked into the hall and handed over a talisman to the head.
Ashenfog quickly read through the talisman and smiled.
"Our people have managed to speak to the ones in charge of handling
the formation, and we've managed to get them to activate it within the week," the man said.
"It's still going to take a week?" Alex asked in a sowhat surprised tone.
"Of course," the dragon answered. "To not weaken the Divine spirit vein, they use a different formation to gather the Qi around it in order to aid it in delivering the necessary Qi to activate the teleportation formation. That takes about a week's worth of ti." "When was the last ti that formation was in use?" Alex asked.
The head thought for a mont. "About seven years ago, when we sent news of what was happening in the Sun's Talon realm to the Land of the Blessed Sun."
"I see," Alex said. If they had forced the formation to activate early back then, it would in fact be a risk to run it again so soon. "I
understand."
The head smiled. "We have already notified the Second Scar's rulers
of your arrival, but it will take so ti to get a reply. In the anwhile, your rooms have been prepared."
