"A Divinity?" Ashenfog asked with a look on his face that said he might've misheard what Alex had said.
"Yes, a Divinity," Alex reiterated. "If you have soone that only recently beca a Divinity, that would be great, but if not, then I'll accept anyone stronger as well."
Alex's words caused a great number of dragons to start gossipping all around the arena. They understood that Alex was strong, but was he strong enough to fight a Divinity? They weren't sure.
"We should have soone like that," Ashenfog said after a mont. "But wouldn't they be too strong for you?"
"It wouldn't be much of a challenge if they weren't strong," Alex said. "And it would be better for the others to see how I fight when I have to struggle, wouldn't it?"
The family head could not argue against that.
"You're not wrong," he said in the end and quickly called over soone. The dragon that was called wasn't in the arena, but had been sowhere else. She arrived a few minutes later, crossing directly over to the stage.
"I hope you weren't disturbed, Coldburst," Ashenfog spoke. "We have soone here who has asked to fight a new Divinity, and you were the one that ca to mind."
Coldburst, the female Winterborn Dragon, slowly turned her head toward Alex and slightly narrowed her eyes. "You wish to fight ?" she asked.
"A simple spar," Alex said. "I have been demonstrating how it is for your fellow kin to fight a human, but none have been able to push to my limit. I'm assuming that fighting a Divinity would do so."
Coldburst narrowed her eyes. "But you're so weak."
"I appear weak, yes, but that does not an I am weak. I'm sure we'll be a proper match," Alex said.
The female dragon thought for a short mont before turning toward the head. Ashenfog nodded, so that was all she needed.
"Okay, I'll fight. What are the rules? Am I not allowed to use my Creation? Do I let you attack ? Or anything else?"
"No rules," Alex said. "No restrictions. We fight until soone concedes."
"That works for ," Coldburst said and turned toward the head. "Please watch over us."
The family head nodded, and many other Divinities quickly entered the arena upon his gesture, surrounding them on all sides. This was not only for the sake of Alex and Coldburst, but also to stop anything that may make it to the stands. The arena was strong, but it was unclear if it could stop any extraneous attacks from a Divinity from landing on the audience.
Pearl had long since walked out, so he stood next to Bai Jingshen, watching down at the fight. He couldn't rember the last ti Alex had ever fought a Divinity at all. The closest thing that ca to one were the massive beasts back in Hell, and those didn't count since they were simple-minded beasts that could easily be beaten with a bit of strategy.
As Pearl recalled the past events, he slowly ca to realize that while Alex had fought quite a few tis along the way, this was the first person he was actually going to fight that was a Divinity.
This was a montous occasion as a result.
Ashenfog looked down at the two, seeing them prepared. Coldburst was in her massive form, a towering sight against the tiny Alex that stood at one end. There, he waited for the match to start with his black sword in his hand.
"Begin!"
The mont they received the word, both fighters attacked at the sa ti.
Coldburst swung with her talons at Alex, releasing a few quick bursts of water attacks that ca toward Alex as water slashes.
Alex released a simple sword slash that struck the incoming water slashes at the sa ti. The two attacks struck each other, and surprisingly for all, Alex ca out the winner.
Coldburst had clearly not been expecting that, as her eyes went wide when she saw the remnant of Alex's attack fly toward her. It was a very weak attack that she simply destroyed with a single swipe of her talons, but the fact that it had co past her attacks had been enough to tell her sothing.
"My apologies," she said slowly. "I thought I would end the fight
quickly with a simple attack, but it is clear that it won't work on you.
You truly are quite strong."
Alex smiled. "I expected as much. Please don't hold back anything. Even if you could hurt , there are seniors here that will stop it from
happening if they think there is a chance."
Coldburst nodded and smiled. "Then shall we continue?"
Alex raised his sword. "We shall."
Coldburst swung her talons again, releasing the sa water slashes as
before, but this ti it was clear to everyone that the power contained within these slashes was much stronger than before.
Alex swung his sword again, releasing a similar sword strike that clashed with the incoming attack. A massive explosion shook the arena as the two attacks nearly destroyed each other.
This ti, Coldburst's attack pushed through Alex's sword slash and made its way toward him, but a few specks of light that surrounded Alex in a flash were enough to dissipate it without any hassle. Coldburst's eyes narrowed slightly. She seed to be aware that he
had just used a Sword Domain. She would have to be wary of that.
A wave of liquid appeared around her, slowly pooling into a sphere next to her.
Alex's senses landed on the sphere, imdiately feeling a coldness to it that he simply couldn't explain. It looked like water, but it was more
Yin than water.
And from what he could tell, it didn't form from any aura or Qi at all. It ford from pure Intent, but not in the way one expected. The Yin Water was Coldburst's Creation. And it appeared that, for the sake of not holding back, she was imdiately going to use it.
