Alex took the opportunity to properly cultivate. He had cultivated here and there, but never fully since he got back from the Sun's Talon Realm.
So, for the next two and a half weeks, Alex cultivated without stop.
Nothing regarding his Half-God energy changed during this ti, other than the fact that it had improved just slightly. He was certain distance had sothing to do with it now.
His hands itched to test out this new power rather than just asking questions to Heaven, but no opportunity presented itself. He didn't want to use it without any forethought, but given that it was a known energy, he hoped to learn about it soon without having to experint himself.
During the two weeks, Alex received two ssages from outside.
The first one was from Bladedance, who had also been considering his situation and had so thoughts about it.
"Try not to be around other people if you can," she said. "Especially around people who can know what you are. Half-Gods tend to not share elents because one cannibalizes the others' energy, so they end up having to share. Ashmaker is likely already aware that there is soone doing so and might even have started searching for you. If anyone finds out about you and tells him, the situation you would be in is far worse than even the Storm God. Be careful."
Alex could feel the seriousness in that ssage. He knew that the Fire God was a similar type of Half-God as him, who utilized Fire and Yang energy. He never realized that he could be taking his portion of the energy by becoming a Half-God too.
'That's dangerous, Alex thought. 'Maybe I shouldn't be going around claiming I'm the Sun God then!
The next ssage Alex received was from Battlesage. It was a short
one with two words.
"I've arrived."
Alex left his room after his cultivation session was over and had soone take him to another room where Battlesage was waiting for him. After a few knocks on the door, Battlesage opened it.
The old man with gray hair had an entirely different energy about him than what Alex was used to.
"Young man!" he shouted with loud laughter. "You have finally arrived." "Senior," Alex said with a wide grin. "You look lively."
"I feel lively. I feel as though I've never lived a single day in my life before," he said. He imdiately took Alex into a bear hug and slapped his back a few tis before letting go. After moving back, his eyes lingered on Alex's body for a few seconds too long.
"What's wrong with you?" he asked. "You feel... strange."
"A side effect of sothing," Alex said. "I can explain it later."
"Sure do. How have you been? Where are the beasts? Whisker and Pearl?" he asked.
"Right where they usually are," Alex said, gesturing to his chest. "You can talk to them afterward."
"Sure, sure. Co on in."
Alex walked into Battlesage's room, a similar place to his own, and sat down on one of the few chairs inside.
"So, what have you been up to these past two decades, Senior? Been busy visiting a lot of places, I suppose," Alex asked.
"Of course. That's what I ca here to do after all," the old man said. "I've seen places you wouldn't believe. A place that rains all day and night with no sight of the sun. A place where lava freely flows through the middle of the town like rivulets. A place with trees so massive that cities are built around each of the trees. So were
made by n to look as such, but so completely ford on their own. Incredible, I tell you. Incredible."
The man's excitent was so contagious that Alex couldn't help but smile. At the sa ti, he couldn't help but feel bad about what he was going to tell him next.
"How is your cultivation going?" he asked. "Any issues with the Origin technique?"
"There's no issue, but there is a lot of pain involved, so I've decided to stop at just two," the man said.
"Really? I was sure you could've gone for more, though."
The old man sighed. "I considered it, but as an old man, what need do I have for more Creations? I've lived long enough. Now, I just wish to spend the rest of my lives doing nothing but enjoying my ti. I don't require more than a single Creation for that, do I?"
Alex looked at the man with a strange expression on his face. Had he ever seen a cultivator who was satisfied with what he had? In a cutthroat world where people killed one another just to get a step ahead in life, this man likely stood all alone. Alone though, his spirit was stronger than anyone else's.
Alex could only wonder if there would ever co a ti in his life when he too would be satisfied like this. But he knew in his heart of hearts that it could never be while the world was like this.
Until the day the old world was back together, when Qi flowed
through the world like plentiful freshwater, he could never be
satisfied with what he had.
"I'm happy for you. But... I need your help with my Soul Space. Would that be too much to ask?"
"Your Soul Space? Ah, I see. Don't worry, I haven't so forgotten myself in my travels that I've forgotten about the task you've given . I've thought about it a lot and honestly, I do think I can remake it all."
Alex grimaced slightly, letting an awkward smile show on his face.
"Well, I hate to say it but... your ideas may not be useful at all anymore," Alex said.
The old man gave a confused look.
"What do you an?"
"Well," Alex said with a grin. "There have been so changes to the
space. I won't spoil the surprise for you. Why don't you see for
yourself?"
