Alex walked out of his room after a month of cultivation and t up with Bladedance, who had also left.
Bladedance scanned him with her Divine Sense, sensing absolutely nothing different about him. "You didn't face any issues during cultivation, right?" she asked.
"None at all," Alex answered with a curious look. "Why? Was there a reason that I would?"
"A small one," Bladedance said. "I've heard so rumors, or rather, calling them my own impressions would be best, but Half-Gods tend to not cultivate when they use up whatever energy they have. I don't know why, but the talks I hear make it sound as though it isn't a safe thing to do."
She turned her head toward Alex.
"You did use it, right?"
Alex nodded. "I had no other choice at all," he answered, before his eyes narrowed in consideration of her other words. "Now that I think about it, it does make sense that there would be a danger to cultivating after using up energy like that."
"Does it?"
Alex nodded. "The energy is addictive. The lack of it forces you to be on edge at all tis, hoping you can get your hands on it as soon as possible. I barely had it for a year, and I could feel myself hungering for more. It's difficult to concentrate because of it and could lead to Qi deviation if one is not ready."
"An addiction, huh?" Bladedance had never thought of it that way. "You did fine, thankfully."
"Yes, but I also didn't have that much to begin with. Neither did I keep it for too long," Alex said. "If I had, things might've been different."
Bladedance shook her head. "It wouldn't have. Your ntal fortitude is not so weak that simple addiction would cause you to lose focus. If it was, we would have never made it out of Hell."
Alex couldn't argue with that fact.
They had walked for so ti, making their way through the palace. Only, the direction they had been walking was outside instead of deeper into the hall.
"Where are we going exactly?" he asked.
"The Jade Lotus Continent. The gods will gather there, and you can relay the events from your perspective there as well," she said.
Alex narrowed his eyes. "The other continent? Why do I have to go to the other continent just to relay the information?"
Truthfully, he would rather stay cultivating here if possible, so he had been hoping this would end soon. He hadn't realized that he would have to teleport to a different continent entirely.
"You can relay the information to , and I will relay it to them if that's what you want," Bladedance said with a mischievous smile on her face that Alex didn't miss.
Alex stared at her for a second before asking, "What is it?"
"Nothing," Bladedance said. "Just that this will also be the place where the fourteen explorers of the Cerulean Sparrow will be giving their information too. If you don't care about learning what they found out about the True Moon, then you can stay behind."
Alex gave an annoyed look. "You should have said that in the first place," he said, walking faster. "Hurry up, Master, or we might miss it."
Half an hour later, after crossing two teleportation formations, Alex arrived at the Jade Lotus Continent with Bladedance.
As soon as he arrived, his eyes turned in a certain direction as he sensed sothing.
"Pearl is here too?"
Bladedance hadn't realized. "What's he doing here?"
"No clue. They wanted him for clearing the cracks that ford after what I did. He should have returned long ago, but he sent a ssage saying he would be spending his ti out here. I never thought he would be on this continent."
"The young White Tiger is making use of one of the Sacred Jade Lotuses to the south," a voice answered his query.
Alex turned and saw Flastrider walking toward them. The horse, in his human form, imdiately bowed toward Bladedance the mont he laid his eyes on her.
"Mother and the rest are waiting for you, senior."
Bladedance nodded. "Let us not keep them waiting then."
They made their way toward a massive building close by. On the way, Alex asked about Pearl to see if the man knew anything more.
He very much did.
The cracks ford around the world had been a cause of trouble that everyone feared, which was why they had contacted Alex in the first place. But because he had to cultivate, he had sent Pearl in his stead.
Pearl had closed each one of the cracks out there with ease, calming the hearts of every single person.
"Well, he hasn't closed all of them. One was discovered west of here in the ocean just a day after he started working. And then, around a week ago, another one was discovered nearly out in space," Flastrider said. "Discovering those, we fear there may be more."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "And Pearl didn't close those?"
"No. The young beast helped us realize that unless we deal with the issue from the other side, we will never know how many aren't closed. So, the task was decided to be left to you."
"The other side?" Alex asked before slowly understanding what they
ant. "You want to enter the Void and close it all from the inside,
I see."
"Yes. Can you do that?" Flastrider asked.
"Uh... it should be simple," Alex said. "The only issue is it might take a long ti for to complete it all, but that's it."
"A long ti?"
Alex nodded. "Things inside the Void aren't so simple. While I myself
may be in there for no more than half an hour, months could easily pass. The last ti around, I was there for no more than 5 minutes,
and yet half a day had already passed outside."
"Oh..." Flastrider hadn't realized that.
"Still, I'll do it," Alex said. "I'm technically responsible for it in the first place, so I should be the one to solve it."
