Dozens of bolts of Thunder Power rained down from the sky. A direct hit ant almost certain death. Ye Tian and Lin Ling were dumbfounded; their only option was to flee.
They both sprinted toward a nearby forest. The woods weren't particularly dense, but they could offer temporary shelter from the Thunder Crows' Thunder Attacks and at least disperse so of the bolts.
As the Thunder Crows' bolts missed their mark, Ye Tian and Lin Ling beca blurs of motion, charging into the forest. The Eight-winged Golden Scale Python and the Poison King Lizard also ran for the woods, but the Poison King Lizard's body was so imnse that it absorbed the most Thunder Power.
The Thunder Power from dozens of Thunder Crows slamd into its body. No matter how formidable the Poison King Lizard's Defense Power was, it couldn't withstand such imnse Attack Power.
In an instant, its Scale Armor was blasted away by the Thunder Power, leaving its body riddled with wounds gushing dark red blood. Its movents slowed imdiately.
The excruciating pain sent the Poison King Lizard's massive body writhing on the ground. Its giant tail thrashed about wildly, smashing the surrounding earth and nearby trees to smithereens.
It spat venom from its mouth, but such an attack was useless against the airborne Thunder Crows. Instead, another imnse volley of Thunder Power crashed down upon it.
They were all Tier Four Demon Beasts, but even one as formidable as the Poison King Lizard could not withstand the Thunder Crows' Thunder Power. This second assault blew its body to pieces, leaving it deader than dead.
Ye Tian and Lin Ling were horrified by the Thunder Crows' devastating Attack Power. 'If that Thunder Power hits us, we'll suffer the sa fate as the Poison King Lizard.'
Soon, the Thunder Crows flew into the forest. The trees prevented them from concentrating their attacks, but with every bolt of Thunder Power that struck, another large tree was blasted to splinters.
The Eight-winged Golden Scale Python was filled with indignation. 'The Poison King Lizard wasn't exactly my subordinate, but it helped out quite a bit. To think it was slaughtered by this flock of Thunder Crows...!' But for the mont, it was powerless to take revenge.
The Thunder Crows were too nurous. Although the forest was vast, a tree vanished with every strike of Thunder Power. Before long, a large swath of the woods had been cleared.
anwhile, Ye Tian and Lin Ling kept running, hoping to find a cave for shelter, but their hopes were dashed.
The giant snake hiding in the distance remained perfectly still. When it saw the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python, it felt a deep, instinctual fear—a sensation it had never experienced before, making it even more hesitant to act rashly.
"Ye Tian, we can't keep this up! We'll run out of forest sooner or later. We can't just wait to be killed!" Lin Ling said in exasperation.
"Sister Ling, I'm out of ideas, too! What can we do besides run? Even Ye Lin can't fight this many Thunder Crows, let alone the terrifying one leading them," Ye Tian replied as he ran.
When it rains, it pours. Just as Ye Tian finished speaking, they saw the edge of the forest. Lin Ling saw it too, and for a mont, they were both dumbfounded.
Once they left the forest, there would be nowhere left to hide; they would be finished. The two had no choice but to stop, and just then, the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python reached their side.
"Boss, what should we do? We'll be in grave danger once we leave this forest. Let's just fight these Thunder Crows! I refuse to believe we can't kill them," the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python said.
Ye Tian's mind raced, trying to figure out how to deal with the Thunder Crows. He knew he had the Rune given to him by Elder Zuo. If he used it, it wouldn't just be these Thunder Crows; it might wipe out more than half of all the Demon Beasts in the High-Level Demon Beast Region.
Its power was too imnse; he truly didn't dare use it lightly. Yet, at this mont, it seed there was no other way. He was caught in a terrible dilemma.
Seeing the anguish on Ye Tian's face, Lin Ling's heart ached. They might have been able to handle a few Thunder Crows, but facing hundreds of them... even the Dean of the Five Veins, Xiao Wenjie, would have no choice but to flee in disgrace.
"Ye Tian, don't be afraid," Lin Ling said. "If we're really ant to die here, I've accepted it. At least you'll have your Demon Pet and your woman to die with you. In a way, that makes it worth it!"
"Lin Ling, don't you worry. I won't let you die. None of us are going to die!" Ye Tian declared, his address for her changing. He had made up his mind to use the Rune.
Lin Ling knew Ye Tian was just trying to comfort her. There was no way to survive against so many Thunder Crows. 'But being able to die with Ye Tian makes it worth it,' she thought. 'I just hope I don't look too ugly when I die. I don't want him to see an ugly side of .'
Just then, a monstrous killing intent erupted from the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python. The Primordial Qi within it surged forth, and its massive true form appeared before Ye Tian and Lin Ling.
The sheer size of the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python's body sent a shock through the airborne Thunder Crows. Its Primordial Qi, in particular, caused many of them to let out piercing shrieks.
The giant snake hiding in the distance was so astonished by the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python's true form that it was rendered speechless. After a long mont, it managed to utter a single word: "King!"
Just then, the giant Thunder Crow from the flock flew down to face the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python. "How can you possess such a powerful aura? Who in the world are you?" The Thunder Crow could speak human words.
This ant the Thunder Crow had reached the level of a Tier Five Demon Beast—and a terrifying Flying Bird Demon Beast at that. Ye Tian and Lin Ling were utterly astounded.
"You don't know who I am?" the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python replied, also in human speech. "You dare to attack your King? You have so nerve. Is this how the Thunder Crow Race treats its King?"
"King?" the giant Thunder Crow said. "You do indeed possess the King's Aura. However, you do not yet have a King's power. If I were to kill you and absorb your King's Aura, I might be able to achieve another breakthrough and beco a true King myself."
"You don't have the guts," the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python roared. "But since you're so eager to die, I'll grant your wish!" 'To think soone would dare challenge my royal authority!'
At that very mont, the distant giant snake appeared like a phantom before the Eight-winged Golden Scale Python and the giant Thunder Crow, completely ignoring Ye Tian and Lin Ling.
"Greetings, my King," the giant snake said respectfully. "For this Thunder Crow to dare disrespect you is a provocation against our entire Demon Beast race. This subordinate is willing to teach this arrogant fool a lesson on your behalf."
This dramatic turn of events was sothing Ye Tian and Lin Ling had never expected. 'The Eight-winged Golden Scale Python is suddenly a King? What in the world is going on?'
