The student Zhang Xinlan had saved wasn't speaking loudly, but Ye Tian and Zhang Xinlan heard every word clearly. Such a despicable person truly deserved to die.
Ye Tian wanted to kill the student on the spot. However, he held back, rembering the Snake King was present. 'With the Snake King here to protect us,' he thought, 'I don't even need to lift a finger.'
Just as Ye Tian expected, the Snake King appeared before the three students could even reach him and Zhang Xinlan. It took the form of a very small snake.
"Look, there's a snake here. Don't tell this little thing is a Demon Beast, too? It might even have a Magic Crystal. I'll kill it and find out!" one of the students said, eyeing the Snake King.
The Snake King was disgusted by the three arrivals. Finding the student's words utterly repulsive, it spat a stream of black mist at the one who had threatened to kill it.
Though it was just a small puff of black mist, how could they possibly withstand an attack from a Tier Five Demon Beast? The mont the mist touched the student, he let out a bloodcurdling scream.
In the blink of an eye, the flesh on the student's body corroded beyond recognition. Soon, he was nothing but a pile of white bones on the ground, and even parts of the bones had turned black.
The terrifying black mist scared the other two students half to death. They never imagined such an unassuming little snake could possess such a deadly poison.
The pair tried to flee, but how could the Snake King let them escape? Moving as fast as lightning, it appeared before them in an instant. Its sharp fangs gave each of them a light bite, and just like the student before them, they collapsed to the ground.
They, too, were reduced to nothing but bones. "To dare disturb the Master's recovery is to court death," the Snake King said softly.
Ye Tian was very satisfied with the Snake King's actions. People like that didn't deserve to live. By now, he had mostly recovered, but Zhang Xinlan was still restoring her strength.
Ye Tian stood up, halting his recovery. He walked over to the corpse of the Earth-Split Demon Turtle, and the Snake King followed. "Master," it asked, "how did you get so badly injured this ti? Why didn't you let co out and help you?"
This was the second ti the Snake King had asked. Ye Tian glanced at it and said, "The situation was urgent, and I didn't think too much about it. I thought I could kill that thing on my own, but I didn't expect the Earth-Split Demon Turtle to be so powerful. I miscalculated, and that's why I got hurt.
"Don't worry, Snake King. Next ti I'm in danger, I'll definitely call you for help. It looks like you've pretty much recovered, haven't you?"
"I recovered long ago. It's so boring staying inside your Storage Ring, Master. It's nice to get out for so fresh air. I hope you don't forget next ti! This Earth-Split Demon Turtle is a very powerful Demon Beast. If I fought it one-on-one, I'd have a fifty-fifty chance of winning at best. It's truly unexpected that you were able to kill it, Master," the Snake King said.
"Its Defense Power is imnse, and its control over the Earth Attribute is even more formidable," Ye Tian said. "I'm going to get its Earth Elent Magic Crystal now. You keep an eye on the surroundings. I don't want Zhang Xinlan to be disturbed right now."
The Snake King nodded, then shot into the air. It had now transford into a flying serpent, much to Ye Tian's envy.
Although the Earth-Split Demon Turtle was dead, its shell's Defense Power was as formidable as ever. It wouldn't be easy for Ye Tian to break through its body to get the Magic Crystal. He had to find a way.
A large amount of blood flowed from the massive corpse, staining a wide patch of ground red and emitting a nauseating, coppery stench. Ye Tian found the sll was even stronger than when he had been inside the Beiming Li Fish.
He carefully examined the Earth-Split Demon Turtle. After a long mont, a smile spread across his face. He had spotted the turtle's fatal wound—perhaps that was also where the Magic Crystal was located.
There was no ti to lose. Ye Tian quickly drew his Black Glaze Sword and slashed at the spot. Although he didn't use his full strength, the strike still carried seventy percent of his Attack Power.
Ye Tian had thought this strike wouldn't be enough to break through the Earth-Split Demon Turtle's body, but to his surprise, it tore open a huge gash. The Defense Power in this area was incredibly weak.
Delight flashed across Ye Tian's face. After that single strike, he saw a goose-egg-sized gray pearl inside, pulsating with a powerful Energy.
Ye Tian knew this gray pearl had to be the Earth-Split Demon Turtle's Earth Elent Magic Crystal. He quickly took it out, but as soon as he held it, he imdiately set it on the ground.
"How is this Earth Elent Magic Crystal so heavy?" Ye Tian said in astonishnt. "It's incredible that a small Magic Crystal can weigh a ton."
With a thought, he placed the Earth Elent Magic Crystal into his Storage Ring and prepared to walk over to Zhang Xinlan.
Just then, Zhang Xinlan's eyes opened. Her complexion had returned to normal. She glanced at Ye Tian not far away, stood up, and walked toward him.
"Ye Tian, did you get the Earth-Split Demon Turtle's Earth Elent Magic Crystal?" Zhang Xinlan asked.
"I got it," Ye Tian replied with a serious expression, looking at Zhang Xinlan. "But this thing's Magic Crystal is very heavy. I'm afraid an ordinary person wouldn't even be able to lift it."
Zhang Xinlan paused, taken aback. "A heavy Magic Crystal? I've never heard of such a thing. Although Magic Crystals contain a lot of Elental Energy, they all have a normal weight. What do you an? You're confusing ."
Hearing her say this, Ye Tian also found it strange. 'Could it be that the Earth Elent Magic Crystal I found isn't a real Magic Crystal?' He imdiately took it out of his Storage Ring.
"This is the pearl I found. You're not saying it isn't a Magic Crystal, are you?" Ye Tian said after placing it on the ground.
Zhang Xinlan carefully examined the gray pearl, then tried to pick it up. She, too, found it incredibly difficult to lift and quickly set it back on the ground.
A look of confusion crossed her face. After a few breaths, she said to Ye Tian, "This isn't a Magic Crystal, I'm sure of it! The Earth Elent fluctuations on this pearl are so intense... I suspect this might be an Earth Elental Spirit Pearl.
"I've never seen a Spirit Pearl, but I've heard of them. The Nine Great Elents all have Spirit Pearls, but they co into existence in different ways. So are innate, while others are acquired! The one you have is likely an acquired one, probably ford from the Earth-Split Demon Turtle absorbing the Earth Elent over countless years.
"If that's the case, then the amount of Earth Elental Energy inside this pearl must be terrifyingly vast. This is a priceless treasure! Ye Tian, your luck is really amazing this ti!"
