"What's Brother Tian's reward got to do with you? Aren't you getting ahead of yourself? Did you even ask us?" Ye Feifei said, rolling her eyes at Zhou Xiang with a smile.
Zhou Xiang's expression imdiately soured. "Sister-in-law, you can't do this to us. The boss promised! How could you just refuse on his behalf? You're our sister-in-law, so shouldn't you be a little more generous?"
Hearing Zhou Xiang call her "Sister-in-law" again and again was quite pleasing to Ye Feifei, but she still feigned disagreent. "The reward distribution should be up to Brother Tian to arrange. And it has to be fair, or people will get upset. Zhou Xiang, if you perform well, maybe you'll get a little extra. But if your performance is awful, you might be the one who gets the least."
Zhou Xiang's expression instantly brightened. "But my performance has always been great! The boss will definitely take care of ! Right, Boss?" He imdiately bead at Ye Tian.
"The reward will naturally be split among you, but it's not even certain there will *be* a reward, so don't get your hopes up," Ye Tian said, imdiately throwing a bucket of cold water on Zhou Xiang's enthusiasm.
"No way! How could there not be a reward? Boss, you're not joking, are you?" Zhou Xiang's face fell again. It was quite comical.
"You idiot," Ye Feifei said, annoyed. "Do you have any idea how much trouble Brother Tian is in because of you guys? Maybe this reward can be used to lessen his punishnt from the academy. So, what do you want? The reward, or for Brother Tian to be punished?"
It dawned on Zhou Xiang in an instant. "Oh, so that's what's going on," he said imdiately. "In that case, I definitely don't want the boss to get punished. To hell with the reward!"
While they were talking, it wasn't long before all the students who had obtained twenty or more Magic Crystals mounted the stage. Just then, Xiao Wenjie addressed the crowd in a loud voice, "We are extrely satisfied with the results everyone has achieved this ti."
"I trust everyone is already aware of who obtained the most Magic Crystals during the field activity. Now, I will have Dean Guan present the final count and reward the students who perford so well!"
Guan Tianshui conferred with the three instructors at their respective tables. After a mont, he announced, "The results are in. There are three categories of rewards: one for the top student in each individual class, one for the rankings between the three levels, and finally, one for the overall highest Magic Crystal count."
"I will now announce the results. First place for Advanced Class One goes to..."
This was the most thrilling mont. The students receiving awards were, of course, overjoyed, but what everyone was truly waiting for was to find out the prize for the overall first-place winner.
"We have now reached the crucial mont. There are ten prizes for the overall Magic Crystal count. The Advanced Class has claid seven spots, the Interdiate Class has claid two, and the Basic Level has only one. However, that single student from the Basic Level is the one who unexpectedly collected the most Magic Crystals."
"I'm sure you all know who he is. He is Ye Tian of the Basic Level honors class! His total Magic Crystal count is seven hundred and sixteen! I trust there will be no further dispute about this number!"
"This outco is certainly surprising, but it proves that strength isn't limited to the students of the Advanced Class. Basic Level students are just as capable. Therefore, everyone should apply themselves more diligently to their Cultivation. Who knows, maybe *you* will be the one to take first place in the next field activity!"
Ye Tian was truly a dark horse, and everyone found his victory incredible. The most frustrated of all was the top student from the Advanced Class, who had thought first place was firmly in his grasp, never expecting an anomaly like Ye Tian to erge.
The opportunity to attend the Imperial City Academy, which had been right in front of him, was now gone. This filled him with a deep-seated hatred for Ye Tian. He wished he could kill him on the spot, but he lacked a suitable opportunity.

And so, the students whose nas were called went onto the stage one by one, Ye Tian among them. However, many of the eyes on him were filled with hatred.
Just then, Instructor Nalu, who had been sitting in a chair on the stage the entire ti, spoke up. "Any student can receive a reward, but not Ye Tian. Why should soone so disrespectful to his elders be qualified to receive one?"
'I knew this guy wouldn't let it go, but I didn't think he'd be this desperate, making trouble for before the rewards are even handed out. I don't really care about the prize, but the deans haven't said a word, and this guy is over here whining. It's really pissing off.'
"What right do you have to say whether I get a reward?" Ye Tian couldn't help but retort. "An instructor who tries to kill a student without even trying to tell right from wrong is hardly a good person. And you still have the gall to show your face on this stage? You're unbelievably shaless!"
"HAHAHAHA! Did you all see that? This is a student from the honors class!" Instructor Nalu said, his face ashen with rage. "What right does such an ill-mannered person have to receive the first-place prize? My injuries were caused by him and another student. Soone who even attacks his own instructor—tell , shouldn't he be expelled from Linyuan Academy?"
Ye Tian stared hard at Instructor Nalu and was about to speak when Guan Tianshui's voice cut in. "Regardless of whether Ye Tian is right or wrong, we must still present the rewards to our other students. We will address his case last. For now, I'll ask Dean Xiao to distribute the prizes."
Instructor Nalu was even more furious. 'Guan Tianshui is obviously trying to change the subject. Does he think he can let Ye Tian off that easily? Not a chance. After what he did, I'll make him pay the price.'
'Inside the academy, Xiao Wenjie and Guan Tianshui are protecting him. But as soon as he leaves, killing him will be a simple matter. I have to get him expelled, no matter what it takes.'
Xiao Wenjie proceeded to hand out the rewards to everyone on the stage, one by one. Only Ye Tian's was withheld. He knew everyone was waiting for his final ruling.
"Ye Tian has won first place in the overall Magic Crystal count," Xiao Wenjie began. "By rights, he should earn direct admission to the Imperial City Academy. However, because he killed a fellow student and injured an instructor, the nature of his actions is exceptionally vile."
"Although killing the student may have been a last resort, his thods were far too ruthless. Students are supposed to support and care for one another. What's more, he injured an instructor. The academy cannot tolerate such an incident. No matter how outstanding Ye Tian is, we must make the painful decision to let him go. He will leave Linyuan Academy," Xiao Wenjie declared.
"Dean Xiao, is that it for Ye Tian's case? Isn't this punishnt far too light? It will be difficult for anyone to accept this!" Instructor Lu said, dissatisfied.
At this, the other students below the stage also grew restless, and a new wave of discussion erupted. The situation was becoming difficult to control.
