For Ye Tian, this stream of cool water was a lifeline. He could no longer feel his body; his muscles must have been cooked through by the earlier flas. Strangely, however, there was no sign of his life force fading.

The mont the cool water appeared, he was overco with a comfort unlike anything he had ever experienced. If he had to describe it in one word, it would be: bliss!

The temperature of the Dragon Scales covering his body began to drop, and thick steam filled the air, enveloping him completely. The only problem was that he still couldn't move a muscle.

But the relief was short-lived. Sensation slowly returned to Ye Tian's body, and with it, the excruciating pain from before. He couldn't help but scream.

As if that wasn't enough, the once-cool water began to plumt in temperature, growing intensely cold. Soon, it felt as though he had been plunged into an ice cellar. The violent swing from hot to cold gave Ye Tian a true taste of a fate worse than death.

Before, his body had felt like it was being roasted; now, it felt like it would freeze solid and shatter. He began to shiver uncontrollably, his teeth chattering so hard they clicked.

Despite the agony, Ye Tian's mind remained remarkably clear. He could see the layer of pitch-black gri on his skin slowly flaking away. His torn muscles were actually knitting themselves back together. 'My bones must be healing too,' he thought, 'though I'd have to look inward to be sure.'

Ye Tian knew that if he could just endure this cold, his suffering would give way to great rewards. He was confident he could make it through!

Ti crept by, stretching into what felt like an eternity for Ye Tian. The temperature had dropped so low it felt like his very blood had frozen solid. The only thing still functioning was his mind, and he feared that if this kept up, his consciousness would be the next to fade.

After what felt like half an incense stick's ti, the chilling cold finally began to recede. The altar seed to return to normal, but Ye Tian still couldn't move. He had beco a human popsicle, completely encased in a thick layer of Profound Ice.

If not for his astonishing willpower, he would have been long dead. Of course, the protection afforded by the Dragon Scales had also played a crucial role.

In truth, Ye Tian didn't realize he had already cheated death twice. Even an expert at the Six Veins Realm would have had a slim chance of surviving those flas. He only pulled through thanks to his unique bloodline and the tily arrival of the cool water that lowered his temperature.

As for the freezing liquid, he survived it because he had once comprehended Water Elent Particles. Although he hadn't achieved imdiate resonance with them, his body had instinctively communicated with the elent. He was completely unaware of this; otherwise, he would never have survived.

It seed fated that Ye Tian would successfully pass this trial. It should have been impossible for soone at the Four Veins Power Realm to endure pain ant for a Six Veins expert. Even a true Six Veins master would face a near-certain death undergoing this trial, yet he had pulled through.

However, he was still trapped within the Profound Ice and would have to wait for it to lt. Right now, Ye Tian's only sensation was a complete disconnect from his own body. The Dragon Scales had grown dim and lusterless, and he had no idea how much blood he'd lost.

But one thing made him happy: the Black Glaze Sword was no longer pure black. It now had a faint luster to it. While the appearance was a bit strange, he was certain its power had increased.

Suddenly, the seven gems atop the altar shot down pillars of light that enveloped him. In the space of just a few breaths, the Profound Ice covering Ye Tian vanished without a trace.

The seven pillars of light gradually shifted into seven distinct colors. Each color bathed Ye Tian's body for a mont before giving way to the next. This cycle repeated dozens of tis before the lights finally faded.

But by now, Ye Tian had fallen unconscious, completely unaware of the light bathing his body.

He didn't know how much ti had passed when he finally opened his eyes. He felt as if his body had been fully restored. The Dragon Scales were gone, and strangest of all, there wasn't a single scar left on his skin. 'Incredible!'

He could move again. After inspecting himself, he couldn't help but laugh out loud. During the trial, his Power Realm had unknowingly been raised by an entire major level. In other words, he was now an expert of the Five Veins Power Realm.

The change was staggering. 'If a single trial on this altar can raise my strength by a whole Realm,' he thought, 'I can't even imagine how powerful the other two trials after ascension will be.'

But that wasn't what shocked him most. He discovered several new, different-colored Elental Pearls near his Dantian. They were tiny, but they were unmistakably real. This would be a massive advantage for comprehending Elent Particles in the future. It was an absolutely incredible stroke of fortune.

Now that he had passed the third trial, Ye Tian's gains were imnse. Even if he didn't obtain the Heaven-defying Cultivation Technique, he would have no regrets.

"Congratulations on passing the third trial. The Heaven-defying Cultivation Technique on the altar is now yours. Once you have claid it, your friends will be teleported here to leave with you.

However, after you retrieve the technique, I have so things to tell you. I hope you will take them to heart." The mysterious voice spoke again.

Imdiately after, a violent tremor shook the ground around Ye Tian. In a flash of light, he found himself back where he had first started. The seven gems that had shone overhead like the Big Dipper were gone. On the altar not far away, the box containing the Heaven-defying Cultivation Technique still sat.

Ye Tian's heart pounded with excitent, all his previous worries vanishing. Ye Lin and Zhang Xinlan would be teleported here soon. 'I wonder what rewards they got from their trials,' he thought. He was sure they had at least passed the first one.

Ye Tian took a mont to calm himself before walking toward the altar. This ti, there was no Barrier to stop him, and he walked right up to the box.

Ye Tian didn't imdiately grab the box. Instead, he studied it for a mont. He saw that while its color gave it a simple, ancient feel, it wasn't made of wood, but of so kind of translucent black stone.

He knew without a doubt that this was no ordinary stone; it was probably crafted from so rare type of jade and must be incredibly valuable.

Ye Tian slowly placed his hand on the box and was surprised to find it faintly warm to the touch. The gentle heat was quite pleasant.

He picked up the box. It wasn't very heavy. On its side was a button, which he presud was the release chanism. Without hesitating, Ye Tian pressed it, and the box slowly swung open.

Inside wasn't an ancient book, but a single, crystal-clear Jade Scroll. Ye Tian knew little about Jade Scrolls, other than that their contents could only be read using one's Divine Sense.

Just as Ye Tian reached for the Jade Scroll, the mysterious voice spoke again. "Congratulations on obtaining this Heaven-defying Cultivation Technique. I hope you will treasure it. It is a technique passed down from the Ancient Tis, known as the Chaos Heaven-Dominating Technique, and it possesses supre power."
