At the very edge of the northeastern lands of the Celestial Fields was one of the few surviving ancient forests. Immortal trees and other plants lived there but few beasts were in that area.
Lind had mapped it but found nothing of interest and moved on.
It had been the limit of his ship and understanding that overlooked a possibility that now ca back to haunt them all.
Each ship was able to see a shimring veil of Fiend Qi but at the sa ti the power behind it was far beyond anything native to the Celestial Fields' first layer.
A Crystal Tier Immortal Fiend had created a safe place for their people long ago but the Cataclysm had killed even their own kind. All that remained was the overgrown buildings left to rot for over a million years.
Only 1 Fiend had recalled the existence of the old stronghold but she could not reach it.
The Widow was the oldest Fiend alive that retained the old knowledge. Her mother had co from that power but left her to fend for herself in the Heaven Realm lands.
When the Celestial Fields reopened, their enemies had carefully boxed them in by locking down the areas the ascension pools they would have access to were located in the Celestial Fields.
While it was not a massive issue as they were diving back into the very professions they had been denied for over a million years. Only 1 of them had been an alchemist due to so secret no one ever learned.
Now, with the Celestial Fields slowly spawning resources over ti, Fiend materials beca available once more!
It was not long before structures to improve their cultivation rose up and their human farms were vastly improved. Immortal Fiends began to bloom at long last after being stuck at 100 for a million years!
In the moss covered ruins behind a shimring ward of Fiend Qi, a fortress now stood at the heart of it. It was repaired in the last few centuries. It was made of stone that felt wrong. It disturbed the eyes to look at it.
It was a squared off area with towers looming over the rotting ruins. The impossibly beautiful ash gray people would produce vile reactions from any cultivator that saw them, but they were all working swiftly.
Dark crystal was being laid into inscriptions in each stone wall and glowing with vile Fiend Qi to make them even stronger.
"The fortress is nearly completed. Lady Widow will be coming soon! Do not slack off!" A man was shouting as he had close cropped off white hair and disturbing eyes glaring at the World and Sky Realm Fiends rushing about.
They had successfully built a powerbase free from their enemies' reach! They would go forth and conquer!
"Lord Agar, the formations are reacting to Immortal Qi but we are not finding anyone nearby. What should we do?" A woman knelt in front of Agar as he quickly brought out a dark tal rod that glowed with Qi to project information in arcane symbols.
He frowned as they did not fully understand the formations. They warned them of Immortals coming close from far away yet the full details were not easily grasped.
Still, there was no denying the warnings were going off but where were their enemies then?
"Have the scouts report any group no matter what they look like to their senses." His orders were relayed by the slim woman but before he got an answer, the blazing sunlight changed colors!
Erald flas slamd into the wards and shattered them like glass! The roar of a dragon filled their ears as a shadow descended from the sky! He had co!
Panic flickered through most of the Fiends. Despite all their gains in the last few millennia, one shadow lood over their hearts.
Lind Frey!
"So, he has co. Activate all the formations now!" Agar did not panic. His orders snapped many out of their fear and they raced to fulfill his orders.
His eyes looked up and sneered.
"You will not get your way this ti, Lind Frey!" Formations of incredible power ca to life as they had taken priority over any physical structure.
Distortions in space tried to form but were repelled with ease as many cultivators in crimson, gold, and black robes began to appear to attack. Erald cloaks on many just confird who had co.
The Frey Clan had co in force!
Agar sneered once more as he summoned a communication jade.
[My Lady, the dragon has co with his Clan. They fill our skies. We will die well.] He held no illusions as he looked as the quickly growing force of Immortals.
They were going to fall but it would not be a slaughter. The Frey Clan would pay in blood!

The battle started early in the morning with Lind opening the way. He was stunned to see wards that could deflect spatial tears from Immortals with ease! He and other 6 elentals bashed away at all they could find but it seed endless.
Fiends flew up on their own power or with artifacts in various shapes. Attacks at the peak of the Shard Tier were everywhere but his Clan proved resilient! The robes and armor were made to fight Fiends specifically this ti.
He had gave them the best advantages but his gut was churning. Sothing was wrong!
The Fiends were dying but taking quite a few with them yet not a single one detonated. It would be horrific and even he had little to no chance of stopping such a tactic yet none did it.
More than a few Fiends had co at him only to be turned to ash yet even he was feeling the pressure as Shard Tier Fiends were in the dozens!
Only 2 or 3 were at the peak but they attacked at range while the rest unleashed Fiend Qi in vile Arts to destroy souls or disrupt natural Qi.
Only harmonic Qi blasted through it all unfazed until the bodies of each Fiend showed resistance! Only his erald harmony slamd through the defenses with ease but the rest ran into issues.
At a rough guess, he would put the Fiends at nearly a million but the majority was Heaven Realm and below.
[Sothing is wrong! They are fighting fiercely but only enough to keep us engaged! Not to win!] Cyntilla's voice entered his head followed by Ethry and the rest.
Lind closed his eyes and summoned a massive ball of erald lightning. It struck out like doom to clear a lot of the gnats fighting around him without harming the Clansn.
He sent a signal and his eyes went wide when he received no answer!
[THE CLAN IS UNDER ATTACK!]
Lind had underestimated them! It was not simply a new place they had claid but they were willing to sacrifice it to strike at the heart of the Frey Clan!
"They know I treasure my family. You strike at what is precious, prepare to pay!" Lind warned his forces back as 18 elents suddenly surged around him as Laws roared at his fingertips!
Sigils were crafted of all 3 sets of elents and Laws connected to the traces faster than any eye could follow. As he focused on that, a male Fiend Shard Tier soared from the dark fortress with a massive spear in his hands.
"DIE!" The Fiend scread as his short off white hair was ruffled in the wind. His dark armor was made of tal rather than battle robes, but Lind ignored him. There was no danger to him anymore.
Prismatic flas struck the Fiend but despite screams of pain, he did not stop! Lind was in danger but then his erald eyes snapped open coldly.
"Be gone from this world! Alpha and Oga Art!" It was shouted at the spur of the mont but ti ground to a halt with the spear tip just barely floating in front of his heart!
The world seed to change as all the Immortals had to concentrate on their dantians to stay afloat. Gravity suddenly seed so heavy! What was going on?!
Glittering Qi suddenly drew their eyes and blood drained from all their faces as they saw sothing impossible.
The once dark stone was becoming gold! The vile Qi perating the very air was transford to Celestial Qi in all directions. It was not being converted to natural Qi but to Celestial Qi!
The Fiends still alive were all frozen but their eyes began to bleed as their bodies were torn apart by the Qi escaping their bodies! Flas burst out of them eventually as the remaining few hundred thousand were killed in one go!
"Why didn't he do that from the start?" Shoti spoke up but no one could answer it until they realized it was not over!
The forest was shifting below them as the earth broke open and exposed a vast catacomb of bodies, chambers, and treasures all for the Fiends being converted or destroyed by the process!
Ethry suddenly shot forward as the Art seed to co to an end and Lind stumbled in midair.
She caught him but he waved her off before he seed to beco unstable. What had that Art cost him?!
"Tigress, co here!" A voluptuous woman was brought over how looked terrified. Illyria and Feng were with her.
"You wanted to have us work with you but what was that?" Feng asked the question they all wanted to ask but Lind waved her off.
"No ti, I am adjusting our plan. Co with ." Space distorted as all 4 vanished! Cyntilla and Ethry quickly took command and Qing took over healing. They were all worried as they had no idea what Lind was doing but the Clan was under attack.
They hoped he would be in ti.
