Wangcai lay listlessly in front of the room’s door, occasionally opening its eyes to glance at Chu Mu and giving its tail a lazy wag.
Ti ticked by. Not until the first rays of the morning sun fell upon Chu Mu did he slowly open his eyes.
The listless Wangcai instantly shot up as if it had been given a command, scrambling to Chu Mu’s side and circling around him.
"Hahaha, you little mutt, you’re more punctual than an alarm clock!"
Chu Mu grabbed Wangcai’s soft, floppy head, ruffled its fur a few tis, and burst out laughing.
Then, Chu Mu walked into the kitchen and poured the reheated leftovers into a dog bowl. Wangcai, who had been circling him excitedly, imdiately stared at him, drool dripping from its mouth.

Aside from the house itself, which was hard to sell, all his other sellable belongings had been liquidated one by one over the past month.
His gaze swept around one last ti, finally settling on the Copper Mirror on the table.
The immaturity in his face was long gone. His forr scrawniness had been replaced by a lean, powerful build.
With his upright posture, clad in the Inspector Armor, and his hair tied up in a bun, he looked even more valiant and heroic.
Chu Mu touched the hard Inspector Armor, and the uncertainty in his eyes slowly faded away.
"Let’s go!"
Pushing the door open, Chu Mu looked at the anxiously waiting Xu Yuan in the courtyard, his voice calm.
Seeing Chu Mu’s composure, Xu Yuan seed to be influenced by it, and much of his own anxiety appeared to dissipate.
"Brother Mu, I did just as you said. I sold everything at ho that I could, and I have all the money on ..."
As if to relieve his own unease, Xu Yuan began speaking eagerly before Chu Mu could even ask.

As if it understood Chu Mu, the once-pitiful Wangcai instantly grew excited, circling him and rubbing against him enthusiastically.
This little interruption seed to relax Chu Mu’s heavy mood considerably.
