Unfortunately, none of them were the ones he was looking for. In a rage, he blinded the last remaining eyes of the three one-eyed cultivators, and then, like a madman, began searching openly throughout Demon Fang City.

His terrifying aura seed to shroud the entire Demon Fang City.

Dark clouds even gathered overhead within the city.

He searched carefully, completely turning Demon Fang City upside down.

Morning arrived.

Jiang Feng noticed that, in the border town he reached, it was rare to see any travelers or drifters. The people living here were almost all locals, and outsiders seldom entered.

Because when he walked in through the city gate, everyone stared at him, as if outsiders hardly ever ca anymore.

Jiang Feng felt this was becoming even stranger.

No matter how you looked at it...

This border town was less than a hundred miles from Demon Fang City. With a fast horse, it’d only take an hour or two to arrive. It shouldn’t be difficult for outsiders to visit—so why did they find him so novel?

"Sir, may I ask if the Divine Sect is just behind this town?"

Jiang Feng asked an old man sitting at his doorway, rolling tobacco.

"Divine Sect? You an the Ghost Sect! Yet another one tricked into coming here from far away."

"I advise you to leave quickly. That’s not a place you should go."

The old man shook his head, sneering.

"How did the Divine Sect beco the Ghost Sect? Could you explain a bit more, sir?"

Jiang Feng felt puzzled.

"Don’t know, don’t know. Go ask soone else."

The old man waved his hand, impatient.

"I’ve co a long way, sir. Please, grant a bit of guidance."

Jiang Feng slipped a tael of silver into the old man’s hand, cupping his fist in thanks.

The old man tucked the silver into his pocket.

People around them imdiately crowded over, their eyes sparkling as they looked at Jiang Feng.

"If you give so silver, I can take you to the Divine Sect."

"I don’t want much. Give five taels and I guarantee you’ll find the Divine Sect."

"Two taels will do for —I can take you there right now."

...

The bustle of voices all spoke at once.

"Ahem, ahem!"

The old man coughed a few tis, and the crowd imdiately quieted down.

The old man asked, "Young man, you’re from the north, aren’t you?"

"Mm."

Jiang Feng nodded ambiguously.

"You’ve been fooled. Only you folks from the north still believe in the thousand-year Divine Sect, that it’s a sacred land of cultivation. It was already destroyed ten years ago; all the disciples vanished without a trace overnight."

"The Divine Sect has beco the Ghost Sect."

"No matter who goes in, without exception, they either explode and die, or lose control and beco idiots. So I’m telling you, better go back! Don’t listen to their nonsense. That’s really not a place you can go."

The old man spoke earnestly.

"What?"

Jiang Feng was completely caught off guard.

He never expected things to end up like this.

Could everything in the books have been a lie?

"You’ve heard of the Red Lotus Sect, right? Even they don’t dare go near that place. Even if you had nine lives, it wouldn’t be enough. I see you’re young, so I’m kindly warning you—leave now!"

The old man, worried Jiang Feng wouldn’t believe him, spoke even more solemnly.

"Thank you, sir."

Jiang Feng nodded, then turned to walk out of the town.

"If you really want to go, I’ll take you there. Just give a tael."

A scabby-headed man ran up and said.

Jiang Feng ignored him.

He didn’t need a normal person to lead the way.

But he really had to consider what the old man said, so he first checked his Fortune Point.

Fortune: 117993

He morized the number, then walked out of town, planning to test whether, by not heading toward the Divine Sect, his Fortune Point would increase.

"Dad, are we really going to settle down here?"

"Why do I feel like the people here are all so strange?"

"Don’t mind them. You’ll get used to it in ti. No matter what, this is our hotown."

Two familiar voices ca from a corner.

Jiang Feng turned to look.

He was truly surprised.

It was actually Huang Li and Old Huang, the father-daughter pair who once traveled as escorts with him on Duan Baiwang’s caravan all the way to Nanfu City.

"It’s him! Why is he here?"

Huang Li also spotted Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng was still using his old disguised appearance: dark skin, and because he’d refused a drink of water offered by Huang Li before, she rembered him as soone who didn’t appreciate kindness.

"Young man, what brought you to Sunset Town?"

Old Huang ca over to ask.

"I wanted to go to the Divine Sect, but these people here told it’s beco the Ghost Sect, that it doesn’t exist anymore, and told repeatedly not to go."

Jiang Feng explained.

On the road, he’d heard Old Huang talk about taking his daughter ho. Now it seed, this Sunset Town was indeed their hotown.

"They’re not wrong. The Divine Sect truly doesn’t exist anymore. I brought my daughter back, hoping to send her into the Divine Sect. Who knew, we people out in the Dragon Capital didn’t know a thing about what happened here."

Old Huang sighed.

"Even if it was still around, not just anyone could go in."

Huang Li still held a grudge, snorting coldly.

"I was just passing by, so thought I’d take a look. Since the Divine Sect is gone, I’ll be leaving now. Farewell."

Jiang Feng nodded to Old Huang, ignoring Huang Li’s attitude as he walked out of town.

Along the way, Jiang Feng felt like everyone in town was watching him.

Especially at the mont he was about to step out of the town gate—everyone wore the sa gaping, staring expression.

Jiang Feng truly found this odd.

When he looked back at them, they quickly looked away toward other things.

So he decided not to bother with them at all.
