Officer Zhao thickened his skin and spoke.

" too!"

Officer Yang wasn’t willing to back down.

"Alright."

Bao Longwei consented silently.

"Originally, the one to bid farewell to Jiang Feng should have been Director Han, but she is far in the south, and with the war being intense, I couldn’t notify her. I had no choice but to let you join in bidding farewell to Jiang Feng."

Bao Longwei said wistfully.

Three days later, Jiang Feng was given a grand funeral.

The date was chosen by the people from the Astronomical Bureau, and the location was selected at the hillside of the back mountain of Black Iron Mountain.

Little Huowa wore mourning clothes for Jiang Feng.

Clumsily placing the cap on Jiang Feng’s head, he watched with Uncle Huo as Jiang Feng’s body was placed into the coffin.

On this day, the people of Dragon Capital were no different from usual.

The order at Zhenbei Prison was the sa as usual.

But quite a few prison guards and captains went to bid farewell to Jiang Feng.

Most were just going along, joining in out of curiosity; Jiang Feng’s death was rely an interesting event to them, they didn’t care about his life or death.

Many even secretly rejoiced.

Because Jiang Feng established four "no" regulations, costing many their extra inco, so towards his death, they felt nothing but schadenfreude.

When the coffin was sealed and buried, Little Huowa was the first to throw a handful of soil onto Jiang Feng’s coffin, followed by Uncle Huo, Chief Duan and others. Eventually, Bao Longwei also picked up so soil and threw it onto Jiang Feng’s coffin.

Finally, everyone watched as the heap of soil took shape.

Covered with turf.

The people gradually dispersed.

Only Uncle Huo and Little Huowa remained to keep watch.

Prison Chief Wang, Prison Chief Feng, and Jail Chief Ma, grateful for Jiang Feng’s promotion, had done quite a few things for Jiang Feng in these days. Though saddened by his death, they had to carry on as usual. They said a few prayers, poured so wine on Jiang Feng’s grave, and then left together.

Uncle Huo and Little Huowa kept vigil for Jiang Feng for three days.

The two then stayed at the grave for another two days.

On the third day, Aunt Huo brought a pot of pickled tofu, and Uncle Huo drank all the sacrificial wine at the grave before finally returning with Aunt Huo.

The people were all gone.

Jiang Feng’s gravesite turned into a nondescript mound on Black Iron Mountain.

Nightfall.

Black Iron Mountain was completely dark, and a little squirrel ran to Jiang Feng’s gravesite in search of food, circling around the incense, licking the fine crumbs of pastry skin.

Suddenly, it stood up straight.

As if it heard so noise.

"Puff!"

A hand reached out from the grave.

Frightened, it fled in panic, directly scrambling up a nearby tree, hiding behind the branches, looking towards the grave.

The squirrel’s eyes widened further and further.

It saw a young man dig out from the grave and climb out from within.

The young man looked around and then walked down the mountain, but soon returned, bringing back a similarly-sized person who could no longer move.

He swapped clothes with that person, dragged him into the coffin, and covered the soil back over the grave.

Then carefully tidied the grave mound, and before leaving, looked in its direction.

Grinned.

"Whoosh!"

The squirrel’s hair stood up, darting wildly along the branches, disappearing quickly.

The young man didn’t bother the squirrel, instead, his facial muscles shifted, transforming into a different face, his height shortened by two centiters, turning into a hunter going up the mountain.

South.
