The werewolf almost didn’t dodge or flinch, swiping a claw straight at her head.

Han Dong raised her hand, trying to block it.

Even if she died, she wanted to fight for one more mont.

But just then, an arm shot out from above her shoulder, slamming a fist onto the werewolf’s claw.

The terrifying, savage werewolf in front of her, the flas it had kept hidden to avoid pursuit burst forth now, as if the shackles had been broken, firelight flaring from its exploding body.

Just as the flas were about to engulf Han Dong—

A surge of transparent energy wrapped around the arm, blocking the flas. Han Dong watched as the werewolf shattered before her eyes.

Her jaw dropped. She turned around to look behind her.

All she saw was a blurry figure darting up the mountain, quickly vanishing from her sight.

"Jiang Feng... was that you?"

Han Dong called out.

She instinctively thought of Jiang Feng.

But that person was too fast—she simply couldn’t see clearly.

"Dong’er!"

"Dong’er!"

At this mont, Han Tieshan and Xiao Ran’s voices ca from the foot of the mountain.

"Dad, I’m fine!"

Han Dong shouted down the mountain. She glanced at Jiang Feng’s grave—there was no movent at all, so it seed she’d just been thinking too much.

This werewolf was as strong as soone in the Celestial Profound Realm—even with a broken arm, there’s no way Jiang Feng could’ve shattered it with one punch if he was alive.

Maybe it was a strong cultivator from Yun Gui Sect passing by, or an expert from the Imperial City who saved her.

"Dong’er, why did you run up Black Iron Mountain?"

Xiao Ran caught up.

He was puzzled, and couldn’t help but glance toward Jiang Feng’s grave.

"I saw so mbers of the Rebel Faction fleeing toward this area of Black Iron Mountain. I thought they might have a hideout up here, so I ca to check it out on my own to avoid alerting them."

Han Dong made up a story casually.

She was clever and quick-witted; lying ca naturally to her.

"The Rebel Faction has all escaped out of the city. The Holy Emperor ordered you to assist Bao Longwei and finish cleaning up the aftermath at Zhenbei Prison."

Han Tieshan glanced at what was left of the werewolf, secretly shocked in his heart. He knew his daughter simply didn’t have the strength to blast apart the werewolf’s body.

Who killed the werewolf, then?

But since Han Dong didn’t ntion it, he cleverly changed the subject.

"Alright, let’s go back quickly."

Han Dong accepted the order and rushed toward Zhenbei Prison.

"The prison has already collapsed—it’s turned into ruins. Make sure you seal it off so nobody gets close again."

Han Tieshan caught up and reminded her.

"Understood."

Han Dong ran onward.

"Dong’er, wait for !"

Xiao Ran glanced around, then hurried after her.

"Sister Dong, let’s go our separate ways here."

On the mountaintop, Jiang Feng watched Han Dong’s retreating back and sighed helplessly.

He’d wanted to show himself and approach Han Dong, but Han Tieshan and Xiao Ran showed up unexpectedly, so he had no choice but to hide. Now, having cald down, Jiang Feng thought it would be best to let Han Dong believe he was already dead.

Because, aside from all this—

Jiang Feng couldn’t stay at Black Iron Mountain any longer, either.

He turned and left, blending into the frantic crowd, clutching a pile of kettles and bowls, dodging the chaos.

A cunning rabbit has three burrows.

In Dragon Capital, at each of the four city gates, Jiang Feng had bought houses in the civilian districts. When the werewolf stord in from the south, it passed through the South City Gate’s civilian area, and the flas it shed set an entire street ablaze.

Large numbers of civilians fled from the fire.

So scrambled to extinguish the flas; others were busy just running for their lives.

Jiang Feng disguised himself as a woodcutter, fetching water from a well at the end of an alley, running toward his own house.

"Old Qin, if the house is burned, it’s burned! We should hurry and escape!"

"No way. I’ve chopped wood all my life, barely scraped together enough to buy this house. If it’s burned, where will I live?"

"You... fine, you’re right. My whole family has nowhere to go, either. Alright, let’s put out the fire together!"

Not only did Jiang Feng make hos in the civilian districts at all four city gates, he also kept a separate identity and matching face in each place.

At the South City Gate, he was a burly woodcutter.

The man talking to him was the boss of the straw mat shop across the street. To make people rember him, Jiang Feng had shown his face in the neighborhood several tis; he’d bought straw mats at the shop, and the boss had bought firewood from him. After several exchanges, the two had beco sowhat acquainted.

They were all just commoners; in these tis of war and chaos, everyone was living frugally.

Not many families could bear to let their houses burn.

At last, the fire was brought under control.

But Dragon Capital was in utter chaos.

By morning, the neighborhoods near Zhenbei Prison were filled with the sounds of people weeping.

Jiang Feng borrowed a ladder from a neighbor, climbed up onto his roof, fixed the loose tiles, and at the sa ti checked his interface panel.

He’d dodged a huge wave of danger.

Especially the Six-ard Divine Emperor’s threat.

His Fortune Point should have increased significantly.

Maybe he could use it to once again improve the Yangchun Technique and break through to the Innate Realm.
