The imagined scene of the Treasure Vault overflowing with dazzling rare treasures didn’t appear.
Led by the Little Cyan Snake.
Jiang Feng saw that inside the Demon-Suppressing Martial Arts Hall’s Treasure Vault, there were three rows of bookshelves, baskets of Spirit Rice in the corner near the wall, and over two thousand Spirit Stones piled up.
And a few Magical Artifacts, covered in the dust of ages.
Without the Spirit Rice and Spirit Stones, this vault would look downright shabby.
"Your Cyan Snake clan cos in here all the ti, and the people from the Martial Arts Hall never notice?"
Jiang Feng asked suspiciously.
"They can’t. The Treasure Vault belongs to the Emperor of the Great Tang, and besides the Hall Master, almost no one can get in."
The Little Cyan Snake explained.
"So where exactly is the Hall Master?"
Jiang Feng asked again.
"No idea, I really don’t know where he is."
The Little Cyan Snake shook its head.
"After you snuck in, did you take anything out?"
Jiang Feng asked.
"Of course. Besides taking stuff, I always have a nice al."
The Little Cyan Snake darted into one of the baskets filled with Spirit Rice. Jiang Feng watched as the full basket of Spirit Rice sank before his very eyes.
Soon, not a single grain was left—the Little Cyan Snake had eaten all of it.
"What are you doing?"
Jiang Feng was startled.
He grabbed the Little Cyan Snake by the tail.
"Let have the Spirit Rice, and you take all the Spirit Stones."
The Little Cyan Snake suggested.
"Damn it! If you keep doing this, how could the people from the Martial Arts Hall not find out? Are you trying to get killed?"
Jiang Feng was furious.
He felt like the Little Cyan Snake had dragged him into a ss.
"Relax, the Martial Arts Hall people can’t catch us. They have no idea there’s another way into the vault through the back. Whenever so Spirit Rice goes missing, they just increase the guards up front. Even if we eat all the Spirit Rice, by the ti they find out, we’re long gone."
The Little Cyan Snake said calmly.
"From now on, without my permission, don’t touch the Spirit Rice or the Spirit Stones."
Jiang Feng tied the Little Cyan Snake onto the Dragon Bone Bow.
Even though what the snake said made sense, he couldn’t let his guard down. He had to leave this place as fast as possible.
"Why co in here if you’re not taking the Spirit Rice or Spirit Stones?"
The Little Cyan Snake wailed.
"Tell , which books on these shelves are Cultivation Techniques?"
Jiang Feng patted the snake on the head.
Sure, he needed Spirit Rice and Spirit Stones too, but what he needed more were Cultivation Techniques and books on Magical Techniques or Divine Power.
"I don’t know. Your human cultivation thods are useless to us demons. I’m not interested in those books at all."
The Little Cyan Snake explained.
and pitifully wrote out a line of words in the air.
"Hmph, behave yourself."
Jiang Feng had no choice but to search by himself.
There were three rows of bookshelves in the Treasure Vault.
All three were packed with books, but fortunately their covers had characters on them—enough for Jiang Feng to tell if sothing was a Cultivation Technique or just Human Cultivation and Martial Arts.
Jiang Feng’s finger skimd over the first bookshelf and finally stopped at a book titled Five Elents Array. He hurriedly pulled it out to look closer.
He flipped through a few pages and his expression lit up.
This Five Elents Array wasn’t just theory—it was a practical Array cultivation manual, full of explanations on how to use, control, and break through Arrays.
Compared to the Restriction Array booklet he’d gotten from the Academy, this was far, far better.
Jiang Feng quickly swept the entire book with his Spiritual Sense.
At the sixth layer of Qi Condensation, Spiritual Sense was like another pair of eyes for him.
He could read an entire book in just a few monts.
When he finished scanning the last page, Jiang Feng checked his status panel.
Na: Jiang Feng
Fortune: 2,414,972
Cultivation Technique: Yangchun Technique (Perfection)
Skills: Fla Saber (Mastery ) Wind Control (Mastery ) Five Elents Array (Beginner )
Realm: Qi Condensation (Sixth Layer)
Divine Power: Immortality
Delighted, Jiang Feng quietly put the Five Elents Array book back on the shelf, wiping away any trace that it had been moved.
He kept searching the shelves for other books.
Soon enough, a Sword Control Technique caught Jiang Feng’s eye.
He flipped through it and saw that it was an orthodox Sword-controlling Technique—fourteen layers in all, each one more powerful than the last. He quickly scanned it through with his Spiritual Sense.
With spiritual sense,
it took just a mont for him to finish the Sword Control Technique as well.
Jiang Feng checked his status panel again.
Skills: Fla Saber (Mastery ) Wind Control (Mastery ) Five Elents Array (Beginner ) Sword Control Technique (Beginner )
Confirming that the Sword Control Technique was successfully added to his panel, Jiang Feng put the book back on the shelf.
"Why aren’t you taking them with you?"
The Little Cyan Snake was puzzled.
Tied to the Dragon Bone Bow with nothing to do, the snake could only watch Jiang Feng’s every move, and saw him find two books, scan them with spiritual sense, then return them both to the shelf.
The Little Cyan Snake knew that, whether it was a Human or a Demon cultivation thod, people usually had to bring the books along when cultivating, reading them over and over, consulting others, in order to gain real understanding.
The way Jiang Feng did it—just skimming with spiritual sense—seed totally pointless.
"No use carrying them."
Jiang Feng replied casually.
But as soon as he said it, he regretted it, and quickly added, "They’re not suitable for my cultivation. Keeping them is pointless."
The Little Cyan Snake nodded. If that was the case, it understood.
Jiang Feng moved to the second row of bookshelves.
With spiritual sense and his eyes, he swept over the titles.
On the very bottom shelf, one book caught his eye.
He pulled it out for a look.
Three characters were written on the cover.
Thousand Faces.
"That’s the Disguise Technique."
"Change your face, shift forms and shadows."
