After refining the elixirs, Yang Chan first went to the dicine Hall’s dicine courtyard to trade for the necessary materials before returning to the dicine Hall and Pharmacy.

He had just returned to the Cyan Yuan Sect and had no assigned tasks, but he needed to make a trip to the Pharmacy to see if there were any urgent matters requiring his help.

Normally, it wouldn’t have mattered if he hadn’t co. If they truly needed his help, soone would have been sent to fetch him. He had co this ti not only because he had just traded for materials at the dicine courtyard, but also because he intended to check on the returned injured disciples and see how they were doing.

If their conditions had changed, he could also provide information about their state during the journey. This would allow the one treating them to make a better judgnt and avoid a misdiagnosis.

This trip was just a precaution.

Yang Chan was diligent in his work, so it was only natural for him to stop by. After another day, he likely wouldn’t be needed and could return to his residence to rest.

"Pharmacist Yang, you’re here. There’s soone over here who needs to ask you a few things..."

As Yang Chan entered the dicine Hall and Pharmacy, a Pharmacist’s eyes lit up upon seeing him. He imdiately called out.

It was just as Yang Chan had expected. A few of the disciples were not responding well to treatnt, so now he was being asked about their condition during the journey. This would allow them to take notes and analyze the problem.

Yang Chan, of course, gave a detailed account. He had checked on all these injured disciples at least once a day to monitor their conditions, so he had a clear grasp of their various ailnts.

As he spoke in detail, the other Pharmacist listened attentively and took notes.

"Thank you, Pharmacist Yang. I think I’m all set here. You should probably head over to Pharmacist Xu’s side. The conditions of two disciples there have relapsed."

After listening, the man smiled in thanks and gave Yang Chan the reminder.

"Thank you. I’ll head over now then."

At his words, Yang Chan smiled and nodded before heading toward the Pharmacy where Xu Gaocen was located.

"Pharmacist Yang, you’re here. Pharmacist Xu was just looking for you."

Shu Yu’s expression was complicated when she saw Yang Chan. She quickly spoke up.

Xu Gaocen had sent her to find Yang Chan and confirm so details. An injured disciple in their care had developed a problem, and the situation was quite serious. This was because most of the patients under Xu Gaocen’s care were the ones that Tan City had been unable to treat, making their conditions much worse than the others.

This group had suffered the most deaths during the journey. Those who managed to survive were not to be underestimated; their will to live was exceptionally strong.

"Alright, let’s go together."

Yang Chan nodded at her words and walked on ahead.

Following behind him, Shu Yu wore a complicated expression. She had attempted the Pharmacist examination recently but had still failed to pass.

The last training session for Pharmacists had helped her improve significantly, but not enough to actually beco one.

Since that training session, besides Yang Chan, only one other participant had managed to pass the Basic Level Pharmacist examination, and that was just last month.

Other Pharmacist’s Assistants who hadn’t even been in the training program had also attempted the examination, but none of them succeeded, which just went to show how difficult it truly was.

But Yang Chan was no longer just the top perforr from their training group. He was now a top perforr even among the Basic Level Pharmacists.

Shu Yu knew this because Yang Chan had successfully refined the Lantian Jade Refining Pill—an elixir that only an Interdiate Pharmacist should be able to create. When Pharmacist Xu heard about it, he was deeply impressed. He had even praised Yang Chan in front of all the Pharmacist’s Assistants, telling them they should learn from him.

’To think, back then, Yang Chan was learning the duties of a Pharmacist’s Assistant right alongside . Now, his status has fundantally changed.’

’If it hadn’t been for that incident with the training slot, I wouldn’t have gotten on his bad side. I might have even been able to ask for his help. But that’s impossible now.’

’Once so things happen, there’s no going back.’

’So people just drift apart as they walk their own paths.’

She wanted to nd their relationship, but from the completely indifferent look in his eyes, he just saw her as a stranger now.

"Pharmacist Xu, I’m here. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Yang Chan saw Xu Gaocen checking on several disciples with more serious conditions. He went over and waited for Xu Gaocen to pause before speaking.

"Tell about the condition of these three."

"They were fine yesterday, but this morning, they started to develop fevers and then fell unconscious. They’ve also been vomiting repeatedly. Their conditions are just fluctuating..."

Xu Gaocen first described their conditions, and then looked at Yang Chan.

He wasn’t expecting a cure from Yang Chan, but rely wanted to confirm if this situation had occurred before, and what other changes had happened on the journey.

Severely injured people often have multiple conditions flaring up simultaneously, not just a single issue, which makes diagnosis complicated. Having a record of their previous state helps rule out many possibilities and allows for a quicker determination of the required dication.

When they were brought back yesterday, Pharmacist Xu had prescribed a relatively mild course of dication. This was to avoid anything too potent that the patients might not be able to withstand.

These three, however, required further investigation.

When Yang Chan saw the three disciples, he quickly recalled their prior conditions. He began to describe the details to Xu Gaocen with great precision.

"That’s everything. Pharmacist Xu, let know if you need any other information. I can try to recall more."

After speaking, Yang Chan looked at Xu Gaocen.

In truth, the conditions of most severely injured disciples were quite similar, but there were always subtle differences. Only a Pharmacist would pay attention to these nuances, using them to determine the specific nature of the illness.

"No need. This is enough. I’ll examine them again."

After listening carefully, Xu Gaocen nodded with satisfaction. It was clear that he had confird so things from the details Yang Chan provided, but he still needed to reexamine them.

"Pharmacist Xu, I’ll take my leave. I’ll be in the next Pharmacy over, so just send soone to find if you need anything."

Yang Chan said.

He also planned to check on the other disciples who had been brought back, so he could form his own assessnt.

As for the situation with Pharmacist Xu’s patients, there was no need for him to be concerned. He had seen them before and knew he couldn’t be of much help.

For the most part, his contribution was limited to what he had just done: recounting the detailed course of their illness on the journey.

’Unless my Pharmacist profession advances again, I won’t be able to truly help.’

Xu Gaocen nodded, then walked towards a severely injured disciple and began a more detailed examination.

He left the Pharmacy where Xu Gaocen was working and entered the one next door.

Yang Chan saw Zhao Yi checking on the conditions of the injured disciples there.

"Pharmacist Zhao, how are these disciples doing?"

Yang Chan asked proactively. Zhao Yi and the others had taken charge of these disciples yesterday, so they would have a clearer understanding of their current conditions.

"Pharmacist Yang, you’re here."

"The condition of these injured disciples is fine. A few of them were in serious condition just now, but we’ve found the source of the problem, so they should be fine."

Zhao Yi looked up, a little surprised to see Yang Chan, and then replied.
