Now reading: Chapter 175: One Pill, Two Uses, An Irresistible External Fo from Eternal Life Starts from Tai Chi, a Eastern novel by Drunken Laughing Zen Known Afar.

On the second floor of the dicine Hall Collection Pavilion, there were quite a few books on the alchemy insights of various Pharmacists. However, there weren’t many books about elixirs like the Three Revolutions Nourishing Viscera Pill, Guiyuan Pill, or Qi Replenishing Pill. These were elixirs that only Interdiate Pharmacists could refine, or perhaps even only Advanced Pharmacists.

Among the ten Interdiate Pharmacists in the Cyan Yuan Sect, not many could refine the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill.

This was because so Interdiate Pharmacists in the Cyan Yuan Sect hadn’t been promoted based on their alchemy skills, but rather on their abilities in dicine, judging dicinal properties, and concocting prescriptions. This, in turn, limited their path for further advancent.

To be promoted to Advanced Pharmacist, one had to possess outstanding alchemy skills; focusing on other areas was no longer sufficient. Therefore, these Interdiate Pharmacists were essentially cut off from any possibility of becoming Advanced Pharmacists. This was also why Gu An was so delighted after learning of Yang Chan’s alchemy abilities.

The other skills a Pharmacist needed could be accumulated over ti, but alchemy ability depended on talent. Without talent, one couldn’t refine elixirs and would only face failure after failure.

Even after summarizing their experiences many tis, they still struggled to succeed. Such occurrences were very common within the Cyan Yuan Sect.

Basic Level Pharmacists like Zhao Yi had tried to refine the Lantian Jade Refining Pill, but they had all basically failed. The refining of the Lantian Jade Refining Pill could be considered a threshold; if one couldn’t even make this elixir, they would likely never beco an Interdiate Pharmacist.

When Yang Chan left the dicine Hall Collection Pavilion, he had several more books in his hands, all of which he had checked out. He also needed to return the books he had borrowed last ti.

Carrying a pile of books, Yang Chan returned to his residence. In his courtyard, Han Bingyu was already waiting, holding a letter in her hand.

"Help take these books inside."

Seeing Han Bingyu, Yang Chan guessed her purpose. He took out so of the books and handed them to her.

Han Bingyu silently took them and followed Yang Chan to put away the borrowed books. He had given her permission to read them at his residence.

She wasn’t qualified to check them out from the Library Pavilion, but here at Yang Chan’s, she could at least browse through them.

However, she mostly read the simpler books, as she couldn’t understand the complex ones, which weren’t of much help to her anyway.

"A letter from the Han Family?"

Yang Chan asked after he finished organizing the books.

He had seen the letter in Han Bingyu’s hand; usually, they were from the Han Family.

"Yes. The Han Family wants to obtain the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill from Pharmacist Yang."

Han Bingyu handed the letter to Yang Chan and stated its purpose directly.

She knew how precious this elixir was. It was effective for cultivators at the External Refining of Iron Bone Perfection and even for Inner Masters. The difficulty of refining it was also extrely high, and she knew the pharmacists in the Han Family’s employ were completely incapable of producing an elixir of this level.

The Han Family was in desperate need of an elixir of this level, which was so rare it was practically unavailable on the market.

The last ti Yang Chan refined the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill, he hadn’t offered any to the Han Family, as it fell outside the scope of their agreent. He had consud them all himself, converting them into Potential Points and advancing his Martial Arts Cultivation.

The First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill also aided Yang Chan’s Inner Refining, and he could harvest Potential Points from it afterward. It essentially served two purposes with one pill, which for Yang Chan, was a common occurrence.

The dicines he had taken before all had this effect, but now they had basically no effect on his Martial Arts Cultivation.

Ever since his Martial Arts Cultivation broke through to the Inner Master realm, even fewer elixirs were effective on him.

The Lantian Jade Refining Pill still had an effect, but it was very faint. If not for the fact that it still provided a fixed amount of Potential Points, Yang Chan would have suspected he had developed a resistance to it.

As far as Yang Chan was concerned, as long as it still provided Potential Points, he would naturally continue to take it.

Although it was less gratifying, the fact that it still had an effect was good enough.

"I can’t provide the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill to the Han Family for the ti being. When Hall Master Gu ca to see , he ntioned that the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill must be supplied to the Sect first."

Yang Chan opened the letter and quickly read through it. The letter was quite wordy, but its content boiled down to one thing: a request for Yang Chan to provide a portion of his First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pills. The Han Family was willing to trade precious Cultivation Resources for them, even stating that Yang Chan could na whatever resources he needed.

They clearly wanted the First Revolution Nourishing Viscera Pill very badly.

The terms were excellent, but Yang Chan could only refuse. When Gu An had spoken with him, he had ntioned this matter: High-Level Elixirs should be kept within the Sect as much as possible, and he could request any necessary materials from the Sect.

Since Gu An himself had said as much, Yang Chan naturally had to refuse the Han Family’s request.

For now, trading Lantian Jade Refining Pills with the Han Family was sufficient. More precious elixirs could not be handled the sa way.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t spare one or two pills; that wouldn’t really affect anything. However, if the benefits weren’t right, there was no need for him to do so.

Although the Han Family could supply so urgently needed dicinal ingredients, they couldn’t compare to the Cyan Yuan Sect’s resources. In the past, so ingredients he needed were delayed because they were prioritized for Advanced and Interdiate Pharmacists. It was only his turn after they had been supplied.

But now that Gu An had spoken, his current authority was, to a certain extent, comparable to that of an Interdiate Pharmacist. He could basically request the ingredients he needed in advance, and their delivery would be expedited.

Under these circumstances, there was naturally no need for him to make the trade.

He had accumulated quite a bit of wealth from his trades with the Han Family, but to him, it was no better than stones. It was of little use, as he no longer needed silver coins within the Cyan Yuan Sect. Although he would need money for his trip to White Jade City, he already had more than enough.

It would be more than enough unless he planned to frequent the red-light districts, compete for top courtesans, or indulge in the entertainnt of pleasure houses.

Yang Chan was well aware that such places were magnets for trouble, filled with petty jealousies and rivalries. When he went to White Jade City, he had no intention of visiting them. He would rather focus on participating in the Pharmacist Exchange Conference and then return to the Cyan Yuan Sect. At most, he would do so sightseeing along the way, and even then, only on the condition that he was with others and never alone.

"I understand. I will write a letter to the Han Family to inform them."

Han Bingyu nodded.

With Yang Chan having said this, she imdiately understood the implications. She didn’t press for details; all she needed to know was Yang Chan’s decision. The rest did not concern her.

Although she could have received more Cultivation Resources from the Han Family if Yang Chan had agreed, it wasn’t worth it for her to press the matter with him further.

She had been with Yang Chan for so ti and knew that once he made a decision, he would almost never change it. He also disliked trouble imnsely, unless forced by an irresistible external power.

Since Gu An had already given the directive, Yang Chan would certainly not bring trouble upon himself for the sake of the Han Family. To put it another way, the Han Family was not worth Yang Chan getting on Gu An’s bad side. Even if it was just a possibility, it still wasn’t worth the risk.

In fact, she had suspected as much even before delivering the letter. Otherwise, Yang Chan would have given a portion to the Han Family the last ti he refined the pills.
