Yang Chan looked at the information on his panel.
After several days of hard work, his Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist cultivation had reached 96% completion for Tier Two Entry. Spending one more Potential Point would guarantee a breakthrough.
There hadn’t been any of the so-called bottlenecks when he broke through from Nurtured Strength to External Refining Copper Skin. So, he estimated that adding more points this ti would let him break through to Tier Three. He would also complete the third tempering for External Refining Copper Skin and begin tempering his sinews, forging them into Steel Rebar.
His original plan had been to get promoted to Elite Disciple within Qinghan Mansion. However, he changed his mind after seeing what happened to the disciples who followed Lü Zhenghai to the Mausoleum Mountain Range—several Elite Disciples dead, several more injured, with over half either killed or crippled.
If he beca an Elite Disciple now, he would very likely be sent into battle. The chances were small, since a Pharmacist was more valuable in the rear, but he couldn’t rule out the possibility entirely.
Therefore, Yang Chan had no desire to beco an Elite Disciple right now. The Ox Demon Martial Seal was important, but his life was far more so.
If forced to choose between the two, he would always prioritize his life over the Ox Demon Martial Seal.
Even if the Ox Demon Martial Seal had to be nurtured during the External Refining Copper Skin stage, he would still abandon it. His future was bright, after all, and he would have other opportunities to make up for any deficiencies in his current Cultivation.

The Law Enforcent Disciple had an Elite Disciple’s Token hanging from his waist. He nodded at the sight, clearly used to this kind of thing.
Pharmacists within the Sect always prioritized treating the wounded, no matter how urgent another matter seed. This was standard practice and a privilege of their station.
Even the Sect Leader and the Elders wouldn’t complain when they learned of it. In fact, they might even offer praise, because these were disciples injured in service to the Sect. Those who bled for the Sect couldn’t be left feeling disheartened.
Yang Chan watched the Elite Disciple from the Law Enforcent Hall leave. As he bandaged the injured disciple, he pondered Lü Zhenghai’s intentions.
Not long after the injured disciples were sent back from the Mausoleum Mountain Range, Elder Lü Zhenghai and his group had also returned to Qinghan Mansion.
Qinglin Courtyard was Elder Lü’s residence. Yang Chan had been there once, so he knew it well.
’Could he be giving a reward?’
The thought popped into Yang Chan’s mind, but sothing felt off.
If it were a reward, it would normally be delivered to him directly. He wouldn’t be summoned to see Lü Zhenghai in person.
The possibility that he was being summoned to "seek his counsel" or "offer a strategy" was also unlikely.
This left Yang Chan unable to figure it out. After bandaging the injured disciple, he told his Pharmacist’s Assistant to check on the patient later. If sothing ca up and he hadn’t returned, they should ask the pharmacist next door for help.
Yang Chan had gotten to know the other pharmacists nearby over the last few days, so asking for a small favor wouldn’t be a problem.
With so lingering doubts, Yang Chan left the T-shaped Room.

Lü Zhenghai read the newly delivered intelligence report. It contained information from the Three Major Sects, sent by agents the Cyan Yuan Sect had planted within their ranks.
It was just as he’d predicted. The hidden scout had sent the intel back to Lingyu Palace, which had then relayed the ssage to Taiyu Valley and the Nanhua Sword Sect.
The Three Major Sects wanted to retaliate against him, but having lost three Inner Refining Elders, they were powerless to do so directly. Instead, they could only set their sights on Yang Chan for now. The ones tasked with this were their hidden agents in Taiyu City.
They had previously purged the Three Major Sects’ hidden agents from Qinghan Mansion, and so from Taiyu City as well. But the cleanup hadn’t been thorough. Ti had been short, so they hadn’t been able to dig deep throughout all of Taiyu City, a task that would have taken considerable ti.
Compared to the agents hiding in Taiyu City, Lü Zhenghai’s primary targets remained the high-level figures of the Three Major Sects, like the Inner Refining Elders and Sect Leaders.
The cultivation of the agents hiding in Taiyu City peaked at the External Iron Bone Refining realm. They were no match for experts at the Inner Refining Grandmaster Level.
Between the two, the choice was obvious.
He had deliberately brought up Yang Chan precisely to bait the Three Major Sects into retaliating. It would be even better if an Inner Refining Grandmaster Level expert showed up. Every one of those he could kill was a victory.
Failing that, he could at least use this opportunity to root out the Three Major Sects’ agents in Taiyu City. He would cut off their eyes and ears, one by one, forcing them to send more people down from the mountain lest they beco completely blind.
At a ti like this, with such a conspicuous bait as Yang Chan, he naturally wouldn’t let the opportunity pass. After all, he was a man who would even use himself as bait.

Just then, Yang Chan’s voice drifted in from outside Qinglin Courtyard.

Yang Chan walked in, the look of doubt gone from his eyes. He had resud a calm, impassive expression, as if nothing was on his mind.
In Qinghan Mansion, the higher one’s status, the more people served them. For example, he also had two young maidens serving him, which was a perk of the Cyan Yuan Sect’s arrival.
Throughout all of Taiyu City, the officials had to rely on the Cyan Yuan Sect, so naturally they served them well.
Yang Chan followed them inside and saw Lü Zhenghai looking perfectly content, with two beautiful maids massaging his legs. If one didn’t know he was an Elder of the Cyan Yuan Sect, they might mistake him for so high-ranking official indulging in a life of pleasure.
The two beautiful maids saw Yang Chan walk in. Noticing a look from Lü Zhenghai, they quickly retreated, not daring to co any closer.
No one was allowed near when Lü Zhenghai was discussing business. The penalty for being discovered was instant death. The serving maids had witnessed this before, so they knew better than to approach now.
Unless Lü Zhenghai actively requested it, they would not approach.

Yang Chan cupped his fist and bowed. He made a point of appearing cautious and deferential in the presence of an Inner Refining Expert like Lü Zhenghai.
Part of it was an act, but part of it was genuine. The power of an Inner Refining Grandmaster was truly shocking.
