Now reading: Chapter 80: Half a Year’s Improvement, Purple Qi Body Cultiv from Eternal Life Starts from Tai Chi, a Eastern novel by Drunken Laughing Zen Known Afar.

During the Sect Grand Competition, the Official Disciples and Elite Disciples competed separately, as the gap in their combat power was imnse.

The final victors among the Official and Elite Disciples were two of the most popular contenders, both of whom were strangers to Yang Chan. Since neither of them had participated in the battle at Taiyu City, he’d never had any dealings with them.

Of course, that was just from Yang Chan’s perspective. To everyone else, the two were actually quite well-known.

It was worth noting that both victors were from the Law Enforcent Hall. When it ca to cultivating combat power in disciples, the Law Enforcent Hall was clearly a cut above the rest.

The winner of the Elite Disciple competition, a man nad Tang Jian, beca a disciple of Elder Lü Zhenghai.

Yang Chan committed the na to mory—not because Tang Jian was the champion of the Elite Disciples, but because he was Elder Lü Zhenghai’s disciple. As far as Yang Chan was concerned, it was best to stay far away from anyone like that.

In Yang Chan’s eyes, Lü Zhenghai was far too calculating; even taking on a new disciple was likely part of so larger sche. Therefore, he resolved to steer clear of the Elder and anyone associated with him.

The assassination attempt by the Three Major Sects in Taiyu City had left him deeply paranoid. Even after returning to the Sect, he was constantly suspicious—wondering if sothing handed to him was poisoned, if his food was safe to eat, or if an assassin was hiding in so remote location, waiting to strike.

He’d even considered digging an escape tunnel in his new residence, though he ultimately settled for building a basent level as a backup. And he had Lü Zhenghai to thank for all these new "good habits." If not for him, Yang Chan would never have developed such a healthy sense of caution.

Half a year passed in the blink of an eye. Yang Chan had consistently kept a low profile and, as a result, had avoided any major trouble.

He heard rumors of chaos from the world outside the Sect—sothing about the sects of Yu State being in turmoil before being suppressed.

The people of Yu State, unable to bear their suffering, had risen in rebellion, only to be crushed in less than three days. Afterward, however, he heard that an Evil Cult had begun to run rampant in the region.

Even within Qing State, traces of the Evil Cult had appeared, and the Cyan Yuan Sect had posted missions to investigate them. Yang Chan, however, didn’t know the details and had no desire to find out.

During those six months, Yang Chan had been promoted to an Elite Disciple. He remained low-key about his success, however, and continued to take on missions related to his work as a Pharmacist.

This wasn’t unusual. Pharmacists had access to far more Cultivation Resources, so their chances of becoming Elite Disciples were much higher than that of ordinary disciples.

Many Pharmacists were also Elite Disciples, and when they took on missions, they still prioritized their Pharmacist duties. For them, being a Pharmacist was their primary identity, while being an Elite Disciple was secondary.

Yang Chan had made the sa choice, so it was hardly surprising.

Take Chu Mo, for example. It wasn’t that he hadn’t wanted to beco a Pharmacist; he had simply failed the assessnt too many tis and eventually gave up, feeling it was impossible for him to pass.

Over the past six months, Yang Chan had spent a great deal of the wealth he had accumulated, but his strength had increased significantly as well.

He had advanced both his Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill and his Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist to the Tier Four Master Stage, resulting in a massive boost to his power.

He spent the Contribution Points he had accumulated from his previous ventures outside the sect to obtain the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist and the Tiger Demon Martial Seal Cultivation thod from the Instructor Hall. At the sa ti, he also redeed a new Health Cultivation Technique called the Purple Qi Body Cultivation Skill. This was a cultivation technique based on absorbing the "Purple Misty Purple Qi," a wisp of purple energy that appears between heaven and earth as the sun rises.

He had chosen it because of the description in its manual: "Swallow a mouthful of Purple Qi, and attain a long life of freedom." He found the promise very appealing and decided to redeem the technique along with the others.

After advancing his Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill to Tier Four, Yang Chan’s Talent had increased by a full 8 points—a huge leap. The effects were obvious; his cultivation efficiency for various techniques was much faster. He could also feel that his Comprehension had greatly improved, and his mory had beco incredible. For example, if soone were to practice an unfamiliar Swordsmanship, he could morize it completely after watching only two or three tis.

This was for a Swordsmanship technique he had never even practiced before. The sa held true when reading books on pharmacology; he could morize them with astonishing speed.

The increase to his Lifespan also far exceeded his expectations, adding a full one hundred years. He was completely shocked by such a drastic improvent.

He had guessed that advancing the Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill would greatly increase his Lifespan, but he had never imagined it would be to this extent.

His body’s regenerative abilities were even more frightening. He’d tried making a small cut on himself with the Hundred Refinent Sword, and after just a few hours, it had healed completely, without even leaving a scar.

Yang Chan couldn’t help but wonder, ’If I continue to advance the Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill, could I one day reach the point of Blood Rebirth? If I could do that, then none of these dangers would matter anymore.’

His Turtle Breath Body Cultivation Skill had also improved, though it hadn’t advanced a Tier. It remained at Tier Two, as he hadn’t spent many Potential Points or much ti on it.

The sa was true for his Demon Suppressing Swordsmanship. In contrast, while he hadn’t spent much ti on his Wind-Stepping Technique, he had still managed to advance it to Tier Two Entry.

Yang Chan had cultivated his Ox Demon Martial Seal to Tier Three Mastery, which had cost a significant amount of Potential Points—similar to the high cost of advancing his Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill and Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist.

His newly acquired Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist had reached Tier Two Entry, Tempering over thirty of the bones in his body. Advancing it further would also cost a considerable amount of Potential Points.

The Tiger Demon Martial Seal had advanced to Tier One Initial Glimpse. He had been leveling it up alongside the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist, and the progress of the two was mutually beneficial.

As for the Purple Qi Body Cultivation Skill, in addition to cultivating it daily at sunrise, Yang Chan also spent Potential Points to raise it to Tier One. The results were significant: it increased his Talent by one point and added another five years to his Lifespan.

This increase was similar to the one from his Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill, which showed Yang Chan that the Purple Qi Body Cultivation Skill had more potential than the Turtle Breath Body Cultivation Skill. However, its cultivation requirents were also more demanding. ’Of course, that only applies to other people,’ he thought. ’I have Potential Points to just level it up.’

Although he hadn’t spent many Potential Points on his Pharmacist profession, it had improved as well. He hadn’t yet beco an Interdiate Pharmacist, but at his current rate of progress, it wouldn’t be long. Once he did, he could finally try Refining true Elixirs.

Advancing to the Bone Cultivation Realm had also increased his Lifespan by seven years. It was nothing compared to cultivating a Health Cultivation Skill, but it was still a nice boost. He had once heard an Instructor Elder ntion that in Martial Arts Cultivation, reaching the stage of Inner Refining of the Lungs and Spleens marked a major transformation, after which one’s Lifespan would continue to increase with further Inner Refining.

After his latest batch of Potential Points was tallied, Yang Chan allocated them to his Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist as usual, then summoned his status panel.
