The Black Dragon Mountain Range was thick with Demon Qi.
Legend had it that deep within these mountains, soone once saw a Black Dragon that could swallow clouds and exhale mist.
There were also rumors that the entire mountain range was ford from the corpse of a colossal dragon.
There were many similar legends, and Li Chang’an had heard at least a few hundred of them.
He scooped up a handful of dirt and inspected it closely.
’Even the tiniest speck of dust contains a trace of Demon Qi. How bizarre. Could the entire mountain range really have been ford from a Demon Corpse?’
Li Chang’an mulled it over, finding it hard to believe.
’Just how massive must that Demon Beast have been when it was alive?’
With many questions still on his mind, he continued deeper into the mountains, searching for signs of Tier Two Demon Beasts.
A mont later, a flash of cyan light suddenly shot straight toward Li Chang’an.

With a casual wave of his hand, Li Chang’an sliced the cyan light in two.
Taking a closer look, he saw it was a Cyan Leaf Snake, a Middle Grade Bloodline Demon Beast skilled in concealnt and sneak attacks. It already possessed the strength of a Tier One Late Stage beast.
An ordinary Cultivator at the Late Stage of Qi Refining could have easily fallen prey to it, dying under its venomous fangs.
But with Li Chang’an’s current Tier Two Physique, he wouldn’t have been hard in the slightest, even if he had let it bite him freely.
’Perfect. I’ll have Fugui prepare this when I get back and make a pot of snake stew.’
He smiled as he put away the snake’s corpse, which was still twitching and struggling.
「The next few days.」
Li Chang’an was frequently attacked by Demon Beasts, and his Storage Pouch began to fill up with Demon Beast Flesh and Blood.
During this ti, he would occasionally find a Spirit dicine or two.
Though most were of low value, he operated on the principle of letting nothing go to waste. If he saw it, he collected it in his Storage Pouch.

The Demon Core of this Golden Wild Elephant was only marginally better than that of a Blood Roar Beast.
Li Chang’an prepared to leave.
However, the Golden Wild Elephant spotted him as well. It threw its head back and roared, then whipped its trunk and charged toward him.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!
Its massive body rampaged across the land, each step making the very earth shake and the mountains tremble.
A wave of dense Demon Qi rolled out with it.
Li Chang’an’s brow furrowed, a cold glint appearing in his eyes.
"You damn beast! I was going to spare you, but you’re just asking to die!"
"Perfect timing. I’ve heard that elephant trunk is a rare delicacy, one of the Eight Mountain Treasures. I’ve never tried it before!"
With a thought, two beams of Spiritual Light—one black, one yellow—shot out from his Spirit Beast Bag. They transford into the Profound Water Turtle and the Yellow Sand Dog, which instantly charged the Golden Wild Elephant.
In an instant, the three Great Demons were locked in a chaotic battle!
To prevent any unexpected complications, Li Chang’an released his Tier Two Puppet and two Tier Two Main Souls, intending to kill the Golden Wild Elephant as quickly as possible.
A full five Tier Two powerhouses!
It was five against one, and they quickly left the Golden Wild Elephant covered in wounds.
"Die!"
The Evil Soul was particularly vicious. Its body radiated a nacing aura as it billowed with black mist and slamd down a palm.
BOOM!
The Golden Wild Elephant let out a wretched cry as blood spurted from its body. All four of its legs snapped, and it was smashed to its knees.
The Profound Water Turtle seized the opportunity, spitting out two deadly Water Arrows.
Two deep blue beams of light streaked through the air, instantly piercing the Golden Wild Elephant’s eyes and penetrating its skull!
The Golden Wild Elephant’s body trembled once and then collapsed heavily, moving no more.
"Well done!"
Li Chang’an said with a smile, applauding his companions.
He imdiately entered the battlefield. With a wave of his hand, he collected the Golden Wild Elephant’s corpse and quickly erased all traces of the battle.
Then, he recalled his Spirit Beasts, Puppet, and Main Souls, and swiftly departed.
Not long after he left, several groups of Human Race Cultivators arrived, all of them wearing grave expressions.
"A huge battle must have broken out here."
"It could have been a fight between Tier Two Demon Beasts, or perhaps a Foundation Establishnt Great Cultivator made a move."

Li Chang’an had left just in ti, avoiding any further trouble.
「That evening.」
He sat cross-legged by a small stream, using Wood Spiritual Qi to conjure a Spirit Fire. He roasted the flesh of the Golden Wild Elephant and feasted heartily with his two Spirit Beasts.
After eating and drinking their fill, they rested to restore their energy and then continued on their way.

Li Chang’an discovered another Tier Two Demon Beast.

If he ultimately couldn’t kill that Tier Two Middle Stage Attributeless Demon Beast, he could use this Cyan Wood Wolf’s Demon Core instead.
With this in mind, Li Chang’an didn’t hesitate and imdiately took action.
He followed the sa successful formula, directly unleashing his five Tier Two powerhouses and ordering them all to strike, to finish off the Cyan Wood Wolf as quickly as possible.
The battle was almost a complete replica of the last one.
A mont later, the Cyan Wood Wolf collapsed, bleeding out and dying on the spot.
Li Chang’an imdiately moved in, collected its Demon Corpse, and then swiftly fled the area.

「That night.」
Li Chang’an entered a hidden cave.
He took out a sharp blade, cut open the Cyan Wood Wolf’s skull, and extracted a Tier Two Demon Core.
The Demon Core was a pale cyan color. It didn’t have much of a bloody sll; instead, it carried the faint, fresh scent of spirit grass, and the power it contained was exceptionally gentle.
"Not bad!"
A satisfied expression appeared on Li Chang’an’s face.
’Just as I thought,’ he mused. ’This Demon Core will serve as a good backup for now.’
「The following days.」
Li Chang’an killed another Fire Elent Tier Two Demon Beast, a Fire Pattern Python.
It wasn’t for the Demon Core, but for its Essence Blood.
The Essence Blood of a Fire Pattern Python was one of the ingredients he needed for the Second Layer of Tier Two Body Refining.
’This Fire Pattern Python’s Demon Core is also extrely volatile and not well-suited for refining a Foundation Establishnt Pill. It’s only a slight improvent over the Golden Wild Elephant’s.’
