The mont they truly entered the Forbidden Sea, an oppressive force of heaven and earth descended upon them, making Chen Xun’s expression darken with discomfort.
"**Moo~**" Brother Ox's breath beca erratic, his mouth slightly open as he released several huffs of air, his face turning pale.
Xiao Chi, however, only felt a bit dazed, unlike Chen Xun and Brother Ox, who were clearly struggling more.
Chen Xun and Brother Ox were being assaulted by waves of willpower, not aid at their spiritual energy or divine sense but at their personal will. This pressure was testing their resolve.
“No wonder this place is like a realm of its own. The remnants of ancient wills are filled with overwhelming battle intent. The stronger you are, the harsher the impact,” Chen Xun muttered, his body swaying. The bandit suit enveloped his body, providing so relief, though the assault from these ancient wills persisted. “Brother Ox, Xiao Chi, put on your suits, now!”

"Got it, Brother Xun!" Xiao Chi struggled to respond as his own bandit suit erged from his fur. He hadn’t fully refined it into his life-bound artifact yet, always considering that if his strength didn’t keep up, he could return it to his two brothers when he left the ship.
Once they all donned their suits, their expressions relaxed noticeably. Xiao Chi sighed with relief, marveling at the power of the suit. His head was no longer clouded.
Chen Xun moved to the edge of the ship, gazing at the murky black sea. The willpower was coming from every direction, unavoidable. Long-term exposure could lead to a loss of clarity, even driving one into madness.
"**Moo~~~**" Brother Ox felt much better, though the pressure was still considerable. The level of suppression they faced here was unprecedented in their travels through the cultivation world. The intensity of the war that had once raged across this sea must have been unimaginable.
“No wonder those large ships are filled with so many Golden Core cultivators—Nascent Soul cultivators are only here to serve as protectors,” Chen Xun noted, his gaze piercing through the layers of sea fog. “In a place like this, the stronger you are, the more heavily you’re targeted. They had never been suppressed in such a manner before. The ancient battlefield here had left behind residual wills that were now acting to suppress all who entered, particularly those of greater power.
It made sense why the more powerful cultivators weren’t the ones at the forefront in this treacherous sea, and why even Nascent Soul experts had to tread cautiously.
