Without a word, she stepped forward to accept his hand, intertwining her fingers with his as they made their way towards the stairs.
The eyes of the twins trailed after the couple in silence. It wasn't until they disappeared downstairs that the sister finally turned to each other, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken tension.
Seeing Wei Er's anxious expression, Wei Yi probed with a composed face, "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" Wei Er exclaid, her voice tinged with distress. "You still need to ask?! I was knocked out in the bath, and when I woke up again, it was already night. But this ti, I couldn't find you anywhere. Do you know how worried I was?"

Seeing her sister's reaction, Wei Yi looked away, her voice softening. "Don't worry. Like I promised, I didn't say anything."
A visible weight seed to lift from Wei Er's shoulders as she let out a relieved sigh, "It's good you didn't say anything..."

Wei Er narrowed her eyes suspiciously, studying her sibling's face intently. "Then what were you and master talking about for so long?
Wei Yi replied noncommittally, "Just service as usual."
But her younger sister wasn't so easily swayed. With a pout, Wei Er retorted, "Who are you trying to fool?"
"I won't lie to you," Wei Yi insisted, eting her sister's gaze, "We really didn't talk much."
"Aha!" A spark lit up Wei Er's eyes as she seized upon her sister's admission. "So you did talk about sothing!"
Wei Yi sighed softly and resud nibbling away at her rations.
With a sly roll of her eyes, Wei Er tiptoed closer, peering toward the stairs as if to ensure they were alone before leaning in conspiratorially. "Sister, I'm curious. What did you talk about? Can you tell ?"
Wei Yi remained calm, her expression unreadable as she shook her head firmly. "No. Master said it's a secret."
With that, she resud nibbling away at her rations in silence.
Seeing this, Wei Er seized her sister's arm, playfully swaying it like a child seeking attention, "Sister~ tell . I'm your sister, aren't I? There's no secrets between us."
Wei Er's antics tugged at her older sister's heartstrings, bringing back so mories that made her resolve falter slightly.
Yet, a weak sigh suppressed the emotions in her heart, and Wei Yi's composed face showed an expression of relenting, "You really want to know?"
