Chapter 1081: Chapter 663: The Ever-changing Battlefield_1 Chapter 1081: Chapter 663: The Ever-changing Battlefield_1 Just as Leo Ray was pondering with great interest how the 2nd Prince’s camp would respond, he suddenly heard Hong Ye’s crisp voice in his ear: “My Lord, between those Magic Knights and the camp, another impressive energy fluctuation is spreading, signaling the imminent release of so kind of magic.”
“Oh?”
In Leo Ray’s focused eyes, a hint of surprise erged.
Due to the fast speed of the cavalry, at this mont, the combined force of the five Magic Knight squads and five Assault Cavalry squads appeared to be just a step away from the position pointed out by Hong Ye!
The unexpected happened the next second.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Accompanied by a series of heavy, muffled noises.
Unbeknownst to the leading Assault Cavalry, both they and their warhorses slamd violently into an increasingly clear, pale green wall. A cloud of blood burst forth from the cavalryn’s bodies.
At such extre speed, these unprepared Assault Cavalry and warhorses were twisted out of shape almost instantly, with their shining armor on them crumbling like crumpled paper, losing all semblance of their original appearance.
Most of the lances held by the cavalry were flung away, while so were simply broken.
So, under the trendous impact force, were even impaled together with their warhorses and smashed into the suddenly erged magical wall.
Witnessing this horrifying and closely approaching scene, the Magic Knights protected in the center couldn’t react at all.
With fear appearing in their astonished eyes, the Magic Knights were forever frozen in that mont as more violent collisions began.
Broken magic wands, blood-soaked robes, and baffled broken faces continued to pile on the ground.
This advancing diamond-shaped cavalry formation was like solid ice lting rapidly on an iron plate.
By the ti the front half of the cavalry formation was completely annihilated, the magical wall finally shattered and vanished.
As for the surviving rear half of the cavalry, most of them had been tripped or thrown by the bodies lying in front of them, struggling to get up.
Since all of this happened within only a few seconds, by the ti Leo Ray responded, the elite thousand-n cavalry force had already lost their fighting power.
“My Lord, this is a type of Anemo Barrier Magic. Judging from its solidity and condensation speed, it must have required at least two Tier 4 Powerhouses, or those with equivalent power, to release it,” Hong Ye explained with a furrowed brow. “It is also possible that a powerful Anemo Magician used a high-level Anemo Magical Scroll to execute the strengthened spell.”
Pausing a bit, Hong Ye added, “The range of this Anemo Barrier Magic is not very wide and is ineffective against large-scale charges but is perfect for countering small elite cavalry forces.”
“I see.”
Leo Ray stared at the scene below the hill, stupefied, with his mouth agape.
This thousand-n elite cavalry force had the battle power equivalent to a Tier 1 cavalry army. Yet, they were so easily bested on the spot.
He knew that the direct Tier 2 squad defending his territory was only slightly larger in scale than this.
While feeling amazed, Leo Ray turned towards Hong Ye and asked, “Where is the caster?”
“My Lord, due to the chaotic flow of energy particles on the battlefield, I believe that the Anemo Magician casting the spell is hiding within the crumbling camp,” Hong Ye replied, bowing respectfully, with furrowed brows. “He must have been well hidden and simply waiting for those cavalryn to walk into the trap.”
“So that’s how the 2nd Prince is countering? The mysterious commander of the opponent is truly extraordinary, making the Great Prince’s forces suffer such losses.”
Nodding slowly, Leo Ray took a deep breath of the pungent scent of blood in the air and continued to observe.
As Hong Ye had said, having prevented the Great Prince’s forces from receiving reinforcents, the 2nd Prince’s forces within their camp launched a barrage of Wind Blades. The unmounted riders battling fiercely outside the camp were soon engulfed.
Between the violent vibrations of the Anemo magic particles, at least one middle team of unmounted cavalry stumbled to the ground and died on the spot.
Seeing their reinforcents decimated and the enemy’s counterattack so fierce, along with the mysterious disappearance of their commander, Wen Si, these exhausted unmounted horsen could no longer endure and began to flee in disarray.
For a mont, longswords and banners fell to the ground, and the scene beca utterly chaotic.
“It seems that in this first round of confrontations, the 2nd Prince’s camp gained an advantage,” Joshua said with narrowed eyes, watching the discarded armor of the Great Prince’s defeated forces, nodding thoughtfully.
“That’s true, but this is only the beginning. If nothing unexpected happens, the Cavalry Commander on the side of the Great Prince is none other than the White Knight, who is well-versed in cavalry warfare,” Burt added with a solemn expression on his old face. “Among the entire Coldfla Kingdom’s military generals, no one can compare to the White Knight in terms of cavalry tactics and intuition. Even the Prairie Archer Cavalry has never been able to gain an advantage against him, with the only exception being Iron Cavalry General Sein.”
