Ulysses rubbed his chin thoughtfully and said, “Based on the actions of the Princess’s Guest Official in this prolonged battle, it’s clear that he is bold yet ticulous in his military tactics, and is not ordinary at all. Moreover, he has the support of despicable fellows like Burt and Joshua, as well as so neutral nobility.”
“That’s right. Before this massive war began, no one would’ve expected that the seemingly insignificant Fifth Princess and Princess’s Guest Official, who only had Cyan Town, would be the ones to have the last laugh.”
Earl Jenkins’ expression grew increasingly solemn and he nodded, “With that said, do you think that the ticulous Princess’s Guest Official would open the city gate for no reason and make such an inexplicable move?”
“It does seem highly likely that so kind of trick is involved.”
The uncertainty seeped into Ulysses’ voice as he furrowed his brow and continued, “However, this is still an uncertain matter. Confronted by a trap that doesn’t seem real, how can we explain this to Second Prince if we retreat?”
After a pause, Ulysses slamd his magical staff into the ground again, unwilling to accept, “If it turns out that the enemy is just bluffing, our reputation would be ruined. How can we maintain our footing in front of other new nobles?”
“That’s still better than knowingly stepping into a trap and getting ourselves killed. At least we can keep the vital force of the new aristocracy and our own lives.”
Earl Jenkins, with squinted eyes, still stared at the city gate and spoke somberly, “At any rate, we can’t just leave this place easily. It’s better to keep observing. Once we find out that the Princess’s Guest Official is just bluffing, he would no longer have a chance of escape.”
“You’re right. They think they can deceive us with a despicable Otherworldly Lord who’s just arrived? They’re delusional.”
