Chapter 2634: Chapter 1450: Confessions and Return
“Are you asking who I am?”
Hearing Leo Ray’s question, a trace of confusion surfaced on the deeply wrinkled, aged face of the sand-robed old man. His face was filled with a sense of vicissitude as he began to mutter to himself: “Three thousand years have passed, and this has always been a question I’ve pondered. Sadly, even if I rack my brains, I can’t rember any useful information.”
“I seem to be just a speck of dust among the myriad particles, unaware of my origin or my destiny.”
“Who am I? Who exactly am I? Why did I fall here? Who buried here? And who did I bury in the past?”
Having said this, the sand-robed old man shook his head helplessly at Leo Ray and responded: “Young one, you are the second person in three thousand years to ask this question, but regrettably, I still can’t answer you because I’ve forgotten too much. Everything about is incomplete.”
“Have I forgotten everything too? This response is eerily familiar. It seems this fellow must have experienced the Era of Blankness, perhaps even perished during it.”
“Yet, whether it’s Elder Bing, or the others from the Era of Blankness that I’ve t, or even remnants of so ancient books, none have ntioned such a vast and terrifying existence during the Silver Moon Era. Although I don’t know the structure of its body, it must be at least a few thousand ters, or even tens of thousands of ters long, right?”
“Such a conspicuous presence couldn’t possibly go unnoticed. Perhaps Elder Bing and the others have also forgotten about this being?”
“Or, it might just be a powerful existence that appeared solely during the Era of Blankness, perhaps a pet kept by so deity, a weapon created by a deity, or even a deity itself? As it resides in the Divine Realm, it’s naturally unknown to the Ten Thousand Clans.”
“Moreover, it clearly fears the Power of Divine Grace, which seems to strongly support the above assumptions.”
“But it seems to have so potential connection with ‘Corrosion,’ what’s that about?”
“But it’s certain that this entity has so connection, possibly even a very close one, with the Era of Blankness.”
Knowing that he lacked sufficient information, Leo Ray did not continue to ponder but instead asked: “Your Excellency, you ntioned I’m the second person in three thousand years. Who was the first?”
“The first person didn’t look like you; rather, they resembled the one beside you quite closely.”
The sand-robed old man pointed at Sina and spoke: “The only difference is that the first person’s snake tail was blue.”
“A blue snake tail?”
Sina’s beautiful eyes lit up, clearly having thought of sothing, and she said to Leo Ray: “Your Majesty of the Humans, this old man’s ntion of that person is very likely referring to my ancestor, the first Queen of the dusas after the Era of Blankness!”
“According to the royal chronicles, that ancestor had a blue snake tail. It was precisely because that ancestor made an agreent with an enigmatic entity that during the coronation of subsequent queens, we were able to activate the Magic Stele and acquire the magical skills left by our ancestor! As for the enhancent of strength, it was a gift from that enigmatic entity!”
“This is why our ancestor deed this place our Holy Land. Although the enigmatic entity has never appeared in the three thousand years since, causing later queens to even think of it as just a legend, the ceremony to activate the Stele has been preserved intact, all the way to the present day.”
Sina gazed incredulously at the sand-robed old man and continued: “It appears this old gentleman must be that enigmatic entity recorded in the chronicles!”
After she spoke, a trace of disbelief appeared on Sina’s fair face once more.
Before entering this mysterious space, even she didn’t believe the recorded accounts, nor did she expect that the white special space her clan regarded as a top-secret location was actually inside the bones of the enigmatic entity.
“An enigmatic entity? So that’s how that person described , quite fitting, for even I don’t know what I truly am.”
The sand-robed old man nodded slightly and affird: “Indeed, I made an agreent with that person back then. That person gave everything to unravel my identity, while I helped that person’s successors inherit so of their adept skills. As for the enhancent of power, that was rely a byproduct, as the inheritance required a sliver of my power, even if it was so faint as to be negligible.”
“So faint as to be negligible, yet it can significantly enhance the power of a Tier 6 Expert? That’s a breathtaking claim.”
Leo Ray smiled wryly, then regained a solemn deanor, continuing to inquire: “Those countless fist-sized white eye-like objects outside, are they also a part of you, Your Excellency?”
“You an those Guardians of Devouring? They are indeed a part of .”
The sand-robed old man responded in an unsurprised manner: “Since they’ve appeared, it ans soone is trying to forcefully activate the Stele, as the Stele is essentially my bone, connected to the essence of my life. Trying to activate the Stele forcefully poses a threat to to so degree, so it’s not surprising they would manifest and initiate an attack.”
“Of course, this may be extrely difficult for you to understand, but it is rely a part of my body’s chanism. Besides, the form you see is naturally not my true appearance, just a shape I turned into for your comprehension.”
