In the depths of the Rift Valley, as the group moved cautiously, the already dim sunlight quickly disappeared overhead, replaced by floating magic light spheres in mid-air.
In the light of the magic spheres, Leo Ray looked around and saw that the group had fully entered a vast underground space, reminiscent of Observation City.
However, here the “Corrosion” didn’t need to burst forth with the help of magical ley lines, nor was there a dense magic fog produced by such eruptions.
Yet, this similar feeling of entering an underground space made Leo Ray’s group shudder, considering the Battle of Observation City was not exactly a pleasant mory aside from befriending the old City Lord and others.
As for Lila and the other Stone Giants, they dared not be careless. The orderly procession saw Stone Giant Heavy Infantry carrying five-ter Giant Shields on the outermost ring, with Giant Axe Infantry and Giant Sword Infantry further inside, and mages and archers with Giant Staffs and Great Bows on the innermost layer.
At the core of the formation, thousands of Tier 5 Stone Giant mages sat cross-legged in the Mobile Magic Tower, chanting softly to power the Absolute Defense Barrier enveloping the entire group.
“Mountain Mist Dispelling!”
With the roaring wind, the giant robes of the Stone Giant Anemo Magic Instructors billowed as they pointed their Giant Staffs toward the magic fog before them. The dense mist before them was dispersed to both sides, making the path ahead imdiately clear.
“This place really does resemble Observation City.”
Moli blinked her large eyes, sotis flashing to the top level of the Stone Giant’s Mobile Magic Tower to look around, and sotis flashing back to Leo Ray’s side, scratching her head and saying, “Are we going back for no reason?”
She shivered involuntarily, causing her pink hood to quiver slightly, obviously recalling the scene of being besieged by the Parasites not long ago.
“Although the environnt is sowhat similar, the soil in this underground space is much harder, and there are no underground rivers flowing around.”
As an Earth Elent Grand Mage, Crisis was highly sensitive to geology and nodded to Moli. “Rest assured, Your Excellency, we have not returned there, so no need to worry.”
“I-I wasn’t worried, I wouldn’t mind fighting those ‘Corrosion’ again!”
Moli put her hands on her hips and stubbornly declared, “Even if there are a bunch of Half-step Tier 7 Parasites, I won’t retreat a single step!”
As soon as Moli’s words fell, a violent tremor ca from the front.
This sudden occurrence caused the top of the underground space to shed rubble constantly, crashing down with a clatter on the Absolute Defense Barrier above everyone’s heads.
Moreover, waves of intense energy fluctuations raged through the space, causing violent wind howls throughout and making the fog boil restlessly.
Though everyone was under the protection of the Absolute Defense Barrier, the continuous sound of air being torn was extrely alarming.
Witnessing this, the three Stone Spirits accompanying Leo Ray could not help but frown.
In the rampaging wind of energy, they vaguely sensed a fierce and frenzied aura — the breath of “Corrosion,” and not a small amount of it.
“Your Majesty, the magical ley lines are erupting again; what should we do?”
Faced with the escalating anomaly, Lila instinctively looked towards Leo Ray for advice.
When she first led her people here, the situation was far less serious. Now, a substantial amount of “Corrosion” had likely arrived with the eruption, along with an unknown mysterious city. This undoubtedly ant they would face two formidable adversaries.
For a mont, even with three elite Tier 5 Stone Giant Legions following, the Stone Giant Clan Chief felt a growing sense of unease, with “Corrosion” and the mysterious city making everything seem increasingly oppressive.
“Press forward. If left unchecked, the situation could worsen.”
Through his connection with the Stone Spirits, Leo Ray knew imdiately of the “Corrosion’s” return, and gave a nod to Lila.
Leo Ray was well aware of Lila’s concerns.
Without ans to counter the “Corrosion,” even ten Tier 5 Legions would at most only slow its progress, and a mont of carelessness could lead to being surreptitiously parasitized, with dire consequences.
However, they had battled “Corrosion” multiple tis and were far more experienced than the Stone Giants.
Moreover, if that mysterious city consistently opposed the “Corrosion,” it indicated an adversarial relationship between them.
Though they faced two forces, this suggested a possibility to uncover the true nature of the mysterious city.
As for the erupting “Corrosion,” its quantity would be naturally limited as long as the Magic Barrier remained intact, and couldn’t be endless like at Observation City.

The group, accompanied by three Stone Giant Legions, moved through the occasionally expansive, occasionally narrower underground space, until the path ahead once again opened wide.
