Capítulo 2891: Chapter 1582: A Starkly Different Scene (Part 2)

“The illusionary reality projected by the Moon Shadow Magic Array is indeed a form of Illusion Realm, but since its essence relies on consuming the bloodline power of us Moon Shadow Deer People rather than Mana, it is fundantally different from typical Illusion Techniques. Unless one possesses a similar Technique, not even the wisest Illusion Master could discern it.”

The frail young deerman bit his lip tightly and continued, “This is the terrifying aspect of the Moon Shadow Magic Array, capable of trapping any adversary into the illusionary reality woven by us Moon Shadow Deer People.”

“Wait, if you yourselves have been bewitched, does that an all the deer people are trapped in an illusionary reality now?”

Leo Ray quickly realized and furrowed his brow, “No, as uninford outsiders, the mont we stepped in here, we must have already fallen into this false reality.”

“False reality? So, everything we’ve seen and heard along the way is not real?”

Moli almost jumped in surprise, blurting out incredulously.

“That’s correct, there’s no abundant food and resources here, nor are there well-maintained streets and freshly painted houses. The Protective City River has long been filled with foul odors, the castle has no luxurious Magic Crystal decorations, and there’s certainly no banquet filled with delectable dishes.”

The frail deerman began to tremble from mixed grief and anger, biting his lips until they turned pale, “Everything, every last bit, was imagined by the deer people themselves, and then they intoxicated themselves within. Even their elegant attires and glowing complexions are fabricated!”

Upon finishing, the frail deerman muttered sothing, and one after another, real-ti magical images remarkably similar to Ice Stone City appeared before everyone’s eyes.

The first magical image showed the shady path the group walked through.

The muddy road was covered with dust and fallen leaves, and the surrounding flower beds had already withered and drooped, presenting a scene of utter desolation, unlike the neatly trimd and spotless way the group had passed.

The second magical image brought forth the scenery at the city gate.

It was still crowded, seemingly bustling, but instead of stalls brimming with goods and plentiful food, there were only broken stones, clumps of dirt, and moldy bread on display.

The deer people wandering the market were all wearing tattered clothes, their faces a sickly yellow, looking malnourished—completely different from what everyone had seen earlier.

As for the Protective City River at the city gate, it was overgrown with algae and filth, with thick, black-gray waves undulating. Though the sll was indiscernible, the imagination alone revealed how truly repulsive and pungent it must be, far worse than Lila’s description.

The following magical images then showed the scenes within the city.

As far as the eyes could see, there were only old houses made of broken bricks and a road filled with potholes, starkly contrasting the world the group had previously passed through.

Moreover, the castle standing at the city’s center was covered in thick vines with thorns, even many bird nests sprawled across it, a scene far from the picturesque beauty embellished with magical flowers earlier.

The group, growing increasingly solemn, turned their gaze upon the castle’s interior, though already the series of dilapidated sights had explained everything.

Sure enough, just like the frail young deerman described, inside the ancient castle, the walls were peeling, with no Magic Crystals embedded anywhere—no opulence whatsoever, and in many places, there was even seepage and mildew, everywhere lacking maintenance.

The banquet hall was no different, void of any Crystal Tassel Chandelier, only dim Light Crystal Stones shimring faintly.

The drunken deer nobility were similarly dressed in rags, looking emaciated, clutching tarnished, chipped goblets, gnawing on hard black bread without a trace of gourt food. So older deer even bled profusely from their mouths, oblivious to having broken teeth on the tough bread.

As for the Starfall Sect constantly recomnded by the deerman elder, it was rely a lump of blackened crumbs—Leo Ray suspected it might have been scraped from an oven or fireplace.

“Is this what I just ate?”

Moli’s starry eyes quickly fixed on the “Starfall Sect,” and she began to gag uncontrollably.

“Serves her right for being so greedy, maybe she’ll learn her lesson now, right?”

Leo Ray laughed wryly to himself, then beca serious again.

If it weren’t for witnessing it firsthand, the sight before them was indeed hard to believe—the pride of the deerman clan leader was nothing but this starkly false reality.

Leo Ray’s gaze moved over the magical images, finally resting on the deerman clan leader.

The clan leader, being thin, had prominent cheekbones, a complexion void of any vitality, with dark circles under his eyes, starkly contrasting his previously vivid and prosperous appearance—not to ntion his allegedly greasy lips.

“Isn’t the deerman clan leader the caster of the Magic Array? Why is he also deeply imrsed without escape?”

Upon seeing this, confusion welled up in Leo Ray’s eyes.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, this is the terrifying part about the Moon Shadow Magic Array. The clan leader himself was not familiar with it, yet forced its activation, resulting in the current uncontrollable state, even losing himself. The Magic Array has already gone rogue, magnifying endlessly the most fervent desires of its imrsers.”

The frail young deerman evidently noticed Leo Ray’s confusion and sighed, “Over the years, with the increasingly severe plundering and suppression by the Broken Wing King, our Moon Shadow Deer People barely scrape by, living in dire poverty, and what little foundation remained after our tragic defeat was quickly depleted, hence our deepest desires are self-explanatory.”

“Adequate food and a carefree life?”

Leo Ray nodded briefly, contemplating.

“Precisely, Your Majesty of the Humans, when amplified infinitely by the rogue Magic Array, it culminates in this bizarre spectacle.”

The frail young deerman nodded solemnly, continuing, “Consequently, the scene everyone witnessed in the banquet hall is no surprise.”

“It’s all clear now, who would’ve thought we’d unwittingly stumbled into such a dreadful illusionary sight.”

Continuously listening, Hollis leaned on one hand, pondering.

At the beginning, this Half-Titan clan leader shared the sa doubts over the deer people’s sudden shift, astonished internally, unaware it was rely a mirage.

Sighing inwardly, Hollis’s gaze landed upon the frail female deerman before him, displaying caution, “Speaking of which, since this Moon Shadow Magic Array is a secret known only to core mbers of the Moon Shadow Deer People, how did Your Excellency co to know it?”

Upon Hollis’s query, everyone cast their curious gaze over.

“To be honest, I am nad Rosa, daughter of the Moon Shadow Deer People’s forr clan leader, and once the youngest elder of our people, so I had the privilege of knowing all these.”

The frail deerman nad Rosa lowered her head, her voice tinged with sorrow.

Upon hearing, everyone nodded slightly.

In the fierce battle with the Broken Wing King, the forr clan leader of the deer people perished heroically, her deanor was thus understandable.

“No wonder you seed familiar; we must have t once back then.”

Lila suddenly enlightened, nodded, and gently patted Rosa’s shoulder in comfort.

“Thank you, Stone Giant Clan Chief, for rembering .”

Rosa took deep breaths, attempting to calm herself, then urgently said, “My personal history isn’t important; now that you’ve all understood everything, can you help break this Formation?”

However, Rosa’s words had barely fallen when a change occurred.
