"Who’s there? Co out!" Arthur’s hunched body quickly straightened up.
His aura was like a sharp sword, causing countless tiny slashes to suddenly appear on the ground around him.
These slashes were deep. Aiden, standing nearby, felt a slight pain on his bare skin.
He reacted quickly, imdiately becoming alert and scanning the area carefully.
But he didn’t sense any danger at all. Everything was completely normal.
"Oh, right, I can use Aura reading!"
[Aura reading: Mythic Rank, a special skill that reads the signs of the world and the changes of all things. It doesn’t use magic power. By sensing the changes in energy and colors, it can predict danger and see if there’s a chance nearby, or judge a person’s luck.]
Gray and white energy ans a normal person, with no special talent, and a life of diocrity. Purple energy ans a genius, who can beco rich and famous after so struggle. Red energy is for top talents, the pillars of a country. Golden energy is for race geniuses, able to influence the rise or fall of an entire race. Rainbow energy belongs to the sons of high-level races, born strong and able to beco gods when they grow up.
Aiden didn’t hesitate at all. He imdiately used the Mythic Rank skill, Aura reading!
Suddenly, all the colors in Aiden’s vision disappeared. Only the direction where Arthur was looking showed thick black energy.
"Huh? You actually found ?" A strange male voice said, mixed with sadness and excitent — a sound that no human could make.
Then, from the thick black energy, a masked figure slowly stepped out.
The clothes were strange. The right side was a white dress, and the left was a black suit.
The mask was half a smiling face and half a crying face.
"Ah, I just realized, it’s such a cute little guy. I’m so happy," a soft female voice said.
Aiden felt extrely strange. He had just heard a man’s voice, but now it changed into a woman’s.
"Ugh, you like other n again. I feel so bad," the masked figure said, now sounding sad. It raised its left hand and slamd it hard into the right side of its chest.
Aiden then realized that the right side of the masked figure’s chest was very full, while the left was flat.
"Is this guy half man, half woman?" Aiden thought to himself.
At that mont, Arthur took a step forward with his slender sword.
Suddenly, countless vertical sword-shaped lights around them turned upward, so they were now level with the ground.
The tips of the sword lights aid directly at the strange masked figure.
Arthur looked serious and slowly said:
"Mourner Gary, Jester Lily, the twin stars of Dawn Society. What are you doing in the Great Shaw Empire?"
The masked figure raised both hands in a surrender position.
"You really have no manners. It’s been a long ti since we last saw each other. You attack us right away — that’s really too much. It really hurts ," it said, and as it spoke, the crying face on the mask actually began to cry.
A strange wave of energy suddenly filled the whole space.
Aiden suddenly felt an unbearable sadness in his heart. His eyes were filled with bloodshot, and he wanted to scream and cry.
At the sa ti, his body started to lose strength. It was like soone who was too sad to control their emotions, unable to stand up.
anwhile, Arthur suddenly pointed his slender sword at the masked figure and shouted:
"Die!"
Instantly, the sword-shaped lights around them started to shake violently, making a loud humming sound.
"Stop, stop, stop, Gary. Are you really trying to die?" the masked figure’s voice changed into a female voice, and he continued:
"Be happy. Be happy for !"
"Ha ha ha."
Suddenly, another strange wave appeared. The whole space was filled with an exciting feeling.
Aiden returned to normal. His eyes were full of suspicion, and he stared tightly at the masked figure.
This thod was too strange.
It wasn’t a control skill, nor a soul attack. It was emotional infection.
Extre emotional infection!
"Another mber of Dawn Society? What is this group exactly?" Aiden thought in his mind. He had t Louise from Dawn Society, and also a divine powerhouse nad Orrin.
Now Gary and Lily had appeared. Each of them was extrely strong.
"Ha ha ha, okay, okay, Arthur. Don’t be so tough. Right now, you probably can only fight for a little while before you die completely," Jester Lily said with a smile.
"Wah wah wah, thinking about you dying makes feel so bad," Mourner Gary sobbed.
He hadn’t even finished crying when Lily used her right hand to hit the crying face on the mask.
"Shut up!" Lily said impatiently. She grabbed the edge of the mask and tore off the crying part, revealing red, bleeding flesh.
Lily held the half-mask that was still bleeding and looked at Arthur, saying:
"We don’t want to fight. We ca here for sothing. You know what it is. Give it to us."
"Besides, from what I know, you haven’t fought in a long ti. Your life is almost over. Gary and I can probably kill you."
Arthur’s cloudy eyes slowly lit up.
His slender sword in his hand trembled slightly, as if it was excited. The sword-shaped lights around him made an even louder humming sound.
"Do you think you can kill ?"
"Hahaha, that’s so funny. I can only fight with all my strength once..."
Arthur’s voice paused slightly. His eyes changed from cloudy to bright. The wrinkles on his skin slowly disappeared, and his skin beca smooth.
At the sa ti, the little hair he had left started to grow quickly.
In just a blink of an eye, the old and weak Arthur was turning into a tall, strong, handso man with thick hair, radiating a powerful presence.
The sword-shaped lights suddenly shone brighter, driving away all the darkness around them.
The ground shook. The original floor disappeared and was replaced with a smooth, curved tal mirror.
Those sword-shaped lights actually beca real, turning into sharp tal swords.
"Venerable Domain, Infinite Sword Field!"
Arthur’s voice was quiet, but clear.
The ground he was standing on wasn’t a floor at all. It was a giant sword that he couldn’t see the whole shape of.
"Co on, I’m going to die in this battle, but... I am invincible below the gods." Arthur’s eyes were sharp, his fighting spirit burning high.
He only looked at Lily, and a flash of white light passed in an instant.
In the next mont, a smooth cut appeared on the white dress Lily was wearing.
Lily’s eyes widened in shock. She stepped back, then quickly put the half-mask back on her face.
With just a glance, Arthur’s Venerable Domain had already reached such a terrifying level.
What he said wasn’t just bluster. If a real fight had happened, she and Gary would have been dead for sure.
Because the truth was exactly what Arthur had said — as long as no divine powerhouse got involved, no one could defeat this madman who was burning his own life.
Lily shouted in frustration, "F**k, you’re actually serious!"
"Arthur, no, calm down!"
"Why not save your last fight for the Abyss Demon? We can talk. We can make a deal."
"Stay calm, stay calm."
"I can tell you so important information — about the Demon Duke, and other stuff..."
Arthur took a deep breath and coldly replied, "If you don’t want to die, get out of the Great Shaw Empire!"
"I’ve already given you enough respect. What you Dawn Society want to do is your own business."
"But the relic shard is related to the future of the Great Shaw Empire. It can’t be lost. You won’t get it."
Lily was frustrated. This ti, her and Gary’s mission was to obtain the relic shard hidden in the Great Shaw Empire.
She gritted her teeth, trying to say sothing more.
But just then, Arthur took a step forward.
The smooth tal mirror under their feet began to rise slowly.
A terrifying aura suddenly filled the air.
Without hesitation, Lily turned around and tried to leave Arthur’s Venerable Domain. She looked back and said:
"I hope you die of life loss before the ancient battlefield opens. That would make very happy."
"Only the Dawn Society can save everything."
The mask on Lily’s face slowly fell off, and a space rift appeared. The mask disappeared into it instantly.
Then, Lily and Gary’s bodies collapsed like wet mud.
Aiden’s pupils shrunk in shock. Were Lily and Gary really just masks? Were they not even humans?
"Pfui!"
Arthur spat out blood. The Infinite Sword Field collapsed with a thunderous boom.
The tal swords scattered, turning into tiny sparks that vanished into the air.
Arthur’s face turned pale. His body rapidly aged again, returning to the hunched old man, with even sparser hair on his head.
"Aaron, are you okay?" Aiden quickly asked.
Arthur weakly waved his hand, a sad smile on his face as he replied:
"I’m fine. Just a little tired."
"Don’t look at like this. If they didn’t leave, they’d be dead for sure."
"You know, back then, I was almost a genius of the divine powerhouse."
Arthur slowly put his slender sword back into his cane and sat down.
Aiden couldn’t help but ask, "Arthur, what is that relic shard that the Dawn Society is after? And do you know anything about the ancient battlefield?"
