The whole shop slled of rotting, fernting blood. Even though Aiden held his breath, he could still sense it.
But Brock looked at the blood as if he were staring at a perfect work of art. His eyes were glued to that crimson liquid.
"That’s right! That sll... it’s exactly like the Crimson Blood I drank back in the day. No, this sll is even stronger! It makes my body shake!" Drool dripped from Brock’s lips.
His breathing was fast and shallow. He looked so eager.
Fiona, standing nearby, was the sa. She ignored everything else and only had eyes for the Crimson Blood.
Seeing this, Aiden knew for sure he was going to get that Legendary Rank mask.
After a while, Brock finally took a deep breath and managed to get so sense back into his head.
He looked at Aiden and asked, "How did you get this Crimson Blood? There’s a full 10ml!"
Aiden just smiled and didn’t answer.
Brock gritted his teeth and said slowly, "I can make a deal with you, but first I need to taste it. I need to know it’s real Crimson Blood."
Aiden didn’t argue. He carefully picked up a nearby wine glass and poured out a single drop of Crimson Blood.
His main goal was just to get that Legendary Rank mask.
"Hold on, let wash up and clean my mouth," Brock said. Without hesitating, he ran straight to the bathroom.
When he ca back, his hand was trembling as he lifted the wine glass.
A single drop of Crimson Blood slid slowly into his mouth.
Brock stood perfectly still. He breathed in lightly, his face full of delight and satisfaction.
For a long ti, Brock just stood there, savoring the taste of the Crimson Blood.
He took a deep breath and said straight out, "Everything I said before was pure nonsense. You just need to give the rest of the Crimson Blood, and hand over 100 Legendary Rank materials. Then, that mask is yours."
Aiden didn’t try to bargain. He could tell this was Brock’s bottom line.
Soon, Aiden got his hands on that Legendary Rank mask.
Now, as long as he didn’t run into a divine powerhouse or a Demon God, he wouldn’t have to worry about his identity being exposed.
Aiden decided not to use the Aberrant Fleshweaver disguise mask in front of Fiona and Brock just yet. That would be too stupid.
The deal was done.
Brock stared at the Crimson Blood trapped in the glass container, his whole body trembling with obsession.
Aiden used the chance to ask how to beco a Forgemaster.
Brock explained a bit. In Red Dwarves territory, there is a magical place where an immortal divine fire burns forever.
If you can get the approval of the current Red Dwarves King, you can enter that place to face the trial of the divine fire.
Once you pass, you can beco a Forgemaster.
Aiden thought about it. He still had plenty of Crimson Blood and the Scarlet Skull Goblet. Getting the Red Dwarves King’s approval shouldn’t be too hard.
The only thing that could stop him was the second job scroll.
He had absolutely no idea about that yet.
If he could beco a Forgemaster, all those materials he had would finally be useful.
Plus, with his huge stockpile of materials, he could keep improving his forging skills. Maybe one day, he could forge a full Mythic Rank set himself!
"I’ll wait until I get that second job scroll before heading to Red Dwarves territory," Aiden thought. He wasn’t in a rush.
He also asked a few more questions about the Wraiths, since he still had a pass to their territory in his hands.
"Wraith? Why don’t you go ask Jack? He is a Wraith, and he lives right at the end of this street. I’m on good terms with him, so he’ll answer all your questions," Brock replied straight away.
All he cared about now was tasting that Crimson Blood again. Nothing else could hold his attention.
Fiona glanced at the Crimson Blood, swallowed hard, and said without hesitation, "I can take you there."
Aiden nodded. Once he got all the info on the Wraiths, he was ready to head back to Earth.
On the way, Fiona asked his na again.
This ti, Aiden answered.
"Aiden, where exactly did you get so much Crimson Blood?" Fiona couldn’t help but ask.
Aiden looked at her and asked back, "Do you want Crimson Blood too?"
The Red Dwarf girl, only 1.4 ters tall, bit her lip and nodded hard.
Crimson Blood was sothing no Red Dwarf could refuse.
If she could get enough of it, maybe she could trade it to get her brother back.
"My brother is nad Philip. He’s the strongest genius of the Red Dwarves’ young generation. Three years ago, he challenged the Red Dwarves King and failed. Now, he’s been locked away in the strictest prison," she explained.
"Aiden, if you have any extra Crimson Blood, could you hold onto it? Once I have enough valuable things to trade, I’ll co back to find you," Fiona said, batting her eyes and begging.
Aiden nodded imdiately. He rembered that Fiona was the daughter of the previous Red Dwarves King.
Once he found that second job scroll, he could ask Fiona to lead him to the Red Dwarves territory.
After getting Aiden’s promise, Fiona let out a huge sigh of relief and clenched her fist tightly.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the end of the street.
It was a creepy mansion. Cobwebs, fallen leaves, withered plants, and bug corpses covered everything.
Fiona shrank her neck back, took a deep breath, and said a bit fearfully, "I think I’ll stay outside. I won’t go in. I’ll just wait for you here."
"Grandpa Jack knows everything. It seems he’s lived here since the Black City was first built."
That tall, muscular Red Dwarf girl actually seed a bit scared of the Wraiths.
Aiden didn’t hesitate much. Since entering the Black City, he really hadn’t seen any fights.
It has to be said that things are pretty relaxing here.
Standing on the path in front of the villa, Aiden adjusted his mindset, tightened his guard, and walked forward slowly.
Squeak!
The old wooden door creaked in the wind and slowly opened.
A cold voice ca from inside the house: "Please co in. Don’t be afraid. This is the Black City. No fight can hide from the City Lord’s awareness."
Aiden walked into the villa.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t as scary as he had imagined.
Yellow candles flickered in the breeze. Besides the basic furniture, there were tall bookshelves everywhere. All sorts of books were neatly arranged on them.
A human man wearing glasses and a suit was sitting quietly on the sofa, holding a thick book.
"Please sit," the man said, giving a light wave. The sofa opposite him imdiately started to move.
Aiden didn’t show much reaction on his face, but his heart was on high alert.
He simply couldn’t sense the man in front of him!
No breathing, no body heat, and even when moving, he didn’t disturb the air flow.
Is this what a Wraith is?
Aiden sat on the sofa and stayed silent for a mont.
Jack, the Wraith, let the book turn pages by itself. After glancing at it a few tis, he casually said:
"Go ahead, what do you want to talk about?"
Aiden thought for a mont and asked, "Can humans beco Wraiths?"
Jack smiled and slowly set the book down.
Or rather, it was invisible energy that guided the book from his hand, floating it onto the table.
"Any creature can be reborn as a Wraith after death. I an, reborn, not turned into one," Jack explained a bit.
"Wraiths are special the Abyss creatures. The dead body is their parent. From the mont of birth, they are already an independent life form."
The reason he looked human was that he liked human civilization and its various cultures.
"Most races in the Abyss have their own traditions, cultures, and knowledge, but compared to human culture, theirs are too ugly," Jack said slowly.
He reached out, and a book automatically flew from the shelf, floating in front of Aiden.
"This is a book about Wraiths written in human text. You can take a look."
"It’s free," Jack said with a light smile.
Aiden looked at him, a bit surprised.
"If you don’t like free, just bring so human books next ti you co. Especially anything about technology. That’s enough as paynt," Jack said gently.
Aiden nodded finally and started flipping through the book.
Ti passed quickly. By the ti Aiden had morized the useful info, about an hour had gone by.
Wraiths are truly special. When a creature dies, there’s a very small chance it will give birth to a Wraith.
This new Wraith inherits the dead body’s appearance and personality but has no mories. It’s a completely new existence.
Wraiths prefer being alone. They live a long ti, and unless they et an accident, they rarely disappear.
Their territories are also special; most other the Abyss creatures won’t even enter. There was so much other info about Wraiths that Aiden kept in mind.
He thought for a mont and asked, "Is there a way to perfectly take over a human body, or hide as a human, so that even a level 99 Great Venerable can’t tell?"
He thought about Liam. He had defeated him, yet the progress for the "Bane of All Races 2 · genius Nightmare" didn’t go up.
Aiden had planned to talk to Robert back then, but things changed, and Robert flew away.
Now, Aiden figured that Liam might have sothing like the Aberrant Fleshweaver disguise mask.
In the next second, Wraith Jack leaned forward slowly. A hint of interest appeared on his face.
