On the frontline, amidst the ruins of a massive city, Aiden stood still, his eyes sharp as he scanned every corner around him.

In front of him, Jade, Victor, Jordan, and Cici were already in a fierce battle with a horde of Demon soldiers.

As for Aiden and Nellie, they held back and didn’t join the fight yet.

After all, the attackers were just ordinary Demon soldiers, not geniuses from the Demon Clan.

"Just right," Aiden thought as he watched the battle unfold. "This will give Jordan and the others a chance to get used to fighting Demons."

He paused for a mont, then summoned Faye to help Victor and the others.

The main reason, of course, was that Faye needed a lot of experience points to level up.

Even though these Demon soldiers weren’t nurous or very strong, they were plenty to boost Faye’s experience.

Cici had returned to her normal self. The excitent from before was gone; instead, she looked incredibly socially anxious.

In this state, her attacks were extrely cautious. For the most part, she only waited for openings to harass the Demon soldiers or cast buff skills on Victor and the others.

anwhile, Jordan, a Legendary Rank Titan Shieldguard, finally showed his true worth.

He pulled out a huge black shield, slamd it hard into the ground, took a deep breath, and roared:

"Co on, you bastards! I fucking hate you!"

In the next instant, a faint red light burst from his body, instantly striking the Demon soldiers in front of him.

The mont the red light hit them, their eyes turned blazing red. Overco with pure rage, they ignored everyone else and charged straight at Jordan.

Jordan raised his black shield and stood there like a mountain, unmoving.

Victor and Jade seized the opening without hesitation, cutting down Demon soldiers with ruthless efficiency.

Soon, the ground was littered with their corpses.

"Man, that feels great! So good! These bastards really deserved to die!" Victor took a deep breath and spat a glob of spit onto the nearest Demon corpse.

He felt every cell in his body buzzing with excitent.

Jade slowly made her way back to Aiden and Nellie. She stayed on high alert, scanning the surroundings while quickly recovering her energy.

Victor shook his neck and grinned at Jordan. "Bro, your taunt skill is pretty dark. Are those Demons even real humans? Even their mothers are Demons!"

Jordan rolled his eyes. His taunt skill required him to shout extrely insulting words to activate.

There was no way around it; many skills co with special conditions, and his was actually pretty mild compared to others.

Just then, Aiden spoke calmly. "Get ready. New enemies will be here soon."

This was the real battlefield. Any sign of fighting would attract hordes of enemies.

If they weren’t careful, they’d get surrounded in no ti.

Victor was still too caught up in the thrill. He pumped his fists and said dismissively, "Bring them on! I’ll kill whatever number they send!"

"And if we run into Legendary or Mythic Rank Demon geniuses later, Aiden, you hold off! Let handle it!"

"I’ll send all those damned beasts straight to hell!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than Victor saw Aiden, who had been calm just a mont ago, suddenly turn his head toward the west.

A massive explosion roared in the distance.

"Let’s go. Probably another team fighting Demons," Aiden said without hesitation. "We should check it out!"

The enemies showing up so far were just regular Demon soldiers. Aiden hadn’t seen any Demon geniuses yet.

Plus, the Bane of All Races quest required killing ten ordinary Abyss race geniuses, so Aiden really didn’t want to miss any chance to progress the mission.

Of course, he’d only take the risk if it was safe.

The last fight hadn’t hurt the team’s condition at all. Aiden imdiately led Victor and the others forward, moving cautiously toward where the explosions were coming from.

They had barely moved a few hundred ters when a terrifying whistling sound tore through the sky.

"Get here!" Aiden shouted. He waved his Abyssthe Fla Demon staff, which instantly glowed with light.

"Blacklight Ward!"

Victor, Cici, and the others were close to Aiden. They reacted quickly, reaching his side just before the black shield ford.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground shook violently.

Over a dozen massive teorites, each six or seven ters wide and burning with black flas, ca crashing down from above. They slamd directly into the spot where they had just been standing.

In the next instant, a deafening explosion erupted.

Rumble!

The black-flaming rocks detonated. A powerful shockwave blew the rain up into the air.

Within a one-kiloter radius, the rain instantly evaporated from the intense heat.

The Blacklight Ward vibrated constantly, but not a single crack appeared on it.

"Super long-range skill!" Aiden’s pupils contracted. He figured it out in an instant.

The noise from their earlier fight must have attracted the Demons’ attention.

Instead of sending more soldiers, they skipped straight to using ultra-long-range skills to blanket the area with fire. It was a pretty common tactic.

"Usually, these ultra-long-range skills need a bit of guidance to lock onto the right target," Aiden said quickly. He dismissed the Blacklight Ward and looked up at the sky.

High above, he spotted faint, tiny black specks. If you didn’t look closely, you’d never notice them.

And with the rain pouring down, even though Aiden had strong Spirit attributes and great perception, he hadn’t spotted the trouble coming.

"Faye!" Aiden called out sharply. Faye imdiately shot up toward the sky.

The tiny black specks scattered instantly. Good thing Faye was fast; she chased right after them.

After a mont, Faye flew back down, clutching four red-eyed crows in her claws.

"Master, they were too fast. I only caught four of them," Faye said, sounding a bit unhappy. She felt like she hadn’t really helped.

Aiden wasn’t too bothered. He carefully inspected the red-eyed crows, his brow furrowing deep.

"I missed this. In a real battlefield, aerial scouting is extrely important," Aiden said, taking a deep breath.

Real war is way more complicated than he thought.

Back then, he’d only experienced the events in The White City and didn’t have ti to study tactics properly.

"Looks like none of us have a scouting skill. What do we do now?" Victor asked, returning to his normal state. He realized the danger.

The enemy knew their every move and location, while they knew nothing.

"Leave it to ," Aiden said. "Faye, do you rember which direction those red-eyed crows flew?"

He had Shadow Stealth, which allowed him to make silent, deadly strikes. If he could pin down the enemy’s location, he could attack from a distance.

"If possible, we should look for Skill Books that can hide our teammates’ traces later. Right now, Shadow Stealth only hides ," Aiden muttered to himself.

"Counter-scouting, concealnt, ultra-long-range attacks, fast movent..." Aiden’s brain raced.

Spotting weaknesses was a good thing. He thought of many areas he could improve. With just a little ti, he could beco more well-rounded and have fewer weak points.

"Of course I rember! I morized the stench on those crows. Master, I can lead you to them!" Faye said quickly, blinking her big golden eyes.

Aiden nodded. Then he turned to Victor and the others. "Go wait in the sewers first."

The sewers?

Victor and Nellie paused, then stared at Aiden in shock.

They hadn’t even thought of using the sewers to block the enemy’s aerial scouts.

Sure, maybe they could have had a sudden burst of inspiration if given more ti.

But from the surprise attack to coming up with a counterasure, how little ti had actually passed?

"Captain, is your brain built differently than a normal person’s?" Victor asked, impressed.

Jordan looked confused. "Why do we need to go into the sewers?"

No one answered him.

Even though the city was a ruin, the underground sewer system should still be mostly intact.

After all, any major city has a massive, deep network of sewers.

Soon, the group found the nearest manhole and jumped into the darkness below.

Aiden, however, used his Shadow Stealth imdiately after entering. He moved quickly and silently through the shadows.

anwhile, in the live stream, thousands of viewers were buzzing with excitent:

"Damn it, how didn’t I think of that? With this trick, even if the enemy attacks like before, it won’t hurt Aiden and his team at all."

"So smart! I know a thing or two about this city’s sewers. Unless a Level 90 Reclasser casts a skill, the sewers won’t get destroyed!"

"Gotta admit, Aiden’s reaction ti is insane. He ca up with a solution in just a few seconds!"

"Sigh... are our players only good at hiding?"

"Hiding? Do you want them to keep moving while taking enemy attacks? Are you crazy?"

"You’re not satisfied? If you were in this situation, you’d probably just be screaming for your mom!"

"No, that’s not what I an! I just want them to fight back!"

"Easy for you to say. How exactly would they counterattack in this situation?"

"I... I don’t know."

Soon, the chat in the live stream erupted into an argunt.

But the fighting comnts vanished almost instantly.

That’s because viewers noticed sothing impossible. Aiden, who had been hundreds of yards away from Victor and the others, had suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the heavy rain!
