Since joining the Global Reclasser Exchange Tournant, Aiden had never been this nervous before.
Right now, there was only one thought in his mind: he had to kill Drew and Philip no matter what.
If it had been any other Mythic Rank Demon genius, he would have let them live right now. But not these two.
Moreover, Aiden hadn’t expected at all that these two would flee so decisively, or that Jenna and her team from The Amaranth Country would appear right at this mont.
His only hope now was that Faye could rember the scent of Drew and Philip.
If she could, he could not only track them but also use them to find more Mythic Rank Demon geniuses.
He waited for about two or three seconds. In Faye’s hopeful eyes, she shook her head sadly.
Her large golden eyes filled with guilt and disappointnt as she said:
"I’m sorry, Master. Faye could only sll one of the Demons. The other one had absolutely no scent at all."
When Aiden heard this, a flash of excitent and relief crossed his eyes.
He imdiately replied, "That’s enough. Just rembering the scent of one Demon is enough."
Just then, Jenna and her teammates from The Amaranth Country spotted Aiden and his group.
The squad mber nad Elias murmured, "Why are they here? I thought only we were smart enough to choose the sewer."
Jenna, on the other hand, looked absolutely thrilled. Her beautiful eyes locked onto Aiden, and she couldn’t help but speed up.
Even while still far away, she suddenly spoke up:
"Are you okay? I just felt so fighting nearby. Did you run into so Demon geniuses?"
As soon as she said this, everyone behind her from The Amaranth Country froze. They stared with wide eyes, completely shocked.
Elias rubbed his eyes in disbelief and asked the teammate next to him, "Is it because it’s so stinky here? Did it give a hallucination? Jenna just spoke a whole sentence!"
The teammate replied, "Probably. From what I rember, she never speaks more than a few words."
Soon, Jenna began to slow down.
She saw Aiden act as if he hadn’t heard her at all. He simply turned and flew off toward a spot in the sewer.
Nellie, Victor, and Jade moved instantly to follow.
Jordan and Cici were a bit slower.
Cici, bringing up the rear, glanced back at a disappointed Jenna. Gathering her courage, she whispered softly, "The captain is chasing those two Mythic Rank Demon geniuses who ran away."
Even though her voice was low, the echoing sewer made her words perfectly clear to everyone from The Amaranth Country.
Elias blinked rapidly, staring at Aiden’s retreating back. He pinched his thigh hard and muttered to himself, "I must be hallucinating."
"Not only did Jenna just speak a whole sentence, but I actually heard Aiden chasing two Mythic Rank Demon geniuses."
They had chosen to enter the sewer specifically because they were ambushed by a Demon genius’s long-range skill and faced a Mythic Rank Demon genius.
If it weren’t for Jenna, they would have definitely used a Teleportation Scroll to flee the battlefield by now.
A Mythic Rank Demon genius is far stronger than any human Mythic Rank Reclasser.
Plus, there were countless Demon soldiers nearby. If they couldn’t end the fight quickly, the enemy would only keep getting stronger, making the situation far more dangerous.
Their captain had thought for a long ti before coming up with the idea of hiding in the sewer to avoid the enemy’s air scouting.
He never expected the sewer environnt to be so terrible that it would give him hallucinations.
Elias stood there in his thoughts.
Suddenly, his teammate’s voice broke the silence:
"Hurry up and follow! What are you doing standing there?"
Only then did Elias realize that Jenna, the captain, and the rest of their team were moving fast alongside the Great Shaw Empire squad, heading toward a specific direction in the sewer.
"Damn, not a hallucination!" Elias cursed under his breath.
...
About ten minutes later, Aiden stopped at a dead end in the sewer.
Faye fluttered her wings rapidly and said, "Master, the scent disappeared just nearby."
"I think they might have gone deeper underground or left the sewer entirely."
As she spoke, Faye twitched her nose constantly, looking visibly uncomfortable. Her sense of sll was so sharp that the foul, stinking air of the sewer felt like torture to her.
Hearing this, Aiden let out a sigh.
Demon Drew and Philip had fled way too fast.
When facing Demons that could move quickly underground, he didn’t really have a good plan yet.
Unless he could also move underground himself.
"I have even more skills to learn now," Aiden thought to himself. "Besides flying, I need to master underground stealth and underwater stealth."
This ti, he only t Drew, who could move fast underground. Next ti, he might et enemies who can move freely in water.
Only by noticing more weaknesses can one consciously change them and beco stronger.
Aiden gently reached out and patted Faye on the head.
"It’s okay. You did your best."
"Besides, you have now morized their scent. Later, we might get another chance to find them. Maybe we can even use their scent to locate more Demon geniuses."
Faye nodded vigorously and rubbed her head affectionately against Aiden’s hand.
She said, "Master, I have a feeling. I’ll be able to awaken a new skill soon."
Aiden’s eyes lit up slightly. The regret over not catching Drew and Philip faded a lot.
With Faye getting stronger, Aiden could kill Demon geniuses more easily and speed up his mission progress.
Just then, Victor, Jade, and the others caught up, with the team from The Amaranth Country right behind them.
"Captain, what happened?" Victor asked anxiously.
Aiden shook his head to show that Drew and Philip had already escaped.
He glanced at the team from The Amaranth Country but said nothing, since it wasn’t their fault.
"Hmph, where is this Mythic Rank Demon genius? I don’t see anything," Elias muttered from the back of the line.
"Shut up!" the captain of the team from The Amaranth Country snapped instantly.
This captain didn’t look very old, probably just twenty. He had short blue hair and a muscular build.
Elias pouted and silently shut his mouth.
"What actually happened?" Jenna asked slowly.
Aiden quickly explained what had occurred.
Hardly had he finished when the little girl in Cici’s arms looked around the area, then turned her gaze to Aiden.
"Sir, I’ve been here before."
Aiden imdiately turned to look at the little girl.
"You’ve been here?"
The little girl nodded. Staring at her injured body, she bit her lip hard and said,
"On the day the Demon invasion happened, my mom and dad brought my brother and into the sewer."
"There were many people hiding here with us, just like us. At first, everyone said that if we just held on for a few more days, the army would show up, and a powerful Reclasser would co to save us."
"But later, only those... showed up."
Before she could finish the sentence, tears welled up in the corner of her eyes.
She had lost both her hands, so she just shook her head hard, trying to shake the tears from her eyes and force herself to be strong.
Seeing this, Cici’s eyes turned red. She gently reached out and wiped the tears from the little girl’s cheeks.
The girl sniffled and continued, "One day, Dad disappeared."
"Mum said Dad went to find a Reclasser to save us. He left a lot of at and then left."
"My brother and I were starving for a long ti, and we ate so, so much at."
"But Mum acted strange. She kept saying she wasn’t hungry, and she kept throwing up."
"Later, that Demon who just appeared ca. Then Mum died, and my brother died too."
"That Demon once brought my brother and near here. I rember there was a huge underground space, and there were other Demons in it."
"Sir, it’s very dangerous here. We should leave quickly."
Fear washed over the little girl’s face.
Cici instinctively reached out and gently stroked the girl’s head.
This six-year-old child couldn’t possibly know the cruel truth.
All the contestants present fell silent.
They looked at the girl’s empty arms and legs, and at her terrified face, but said nothing.
They didn’t want to make this poor little one feel pain again.
After all, where would all this edible at co from in a place like the sewer?
Suddenly, Aiden spoke, breaking the silence.
"Did I just drive those Demons away?" he asked.
The little girl nodded. "I saw it! You are so strong!"
"So, if you just tell where that huge underground space is, I can drive those bad Arcanum City out," Aiden said in a very gentle voice.
At that mont, he suddenly felt that apart from killing Mythic Rank Demon geniuses, every bad Arcanum City he saw with his own eyes had to die.
The little girl stared intently at Aiden, thinking for a long mont before nodding.
She wanted to reach out and point the way for Aiden, but all she could do was shrug her shoulders.
Seeing this, Aiden bit his teeth hard and gripped the the Abyssthe Fla Demon staff tightly.
Led by the little girl, Aiden soon found that huge underground space.
