Chapter 77: Yuan ng: Snow~flakes drifting, north wind howling

From “the senior student of our school” to “my student,” there was only one Old Sun in between.

Simply put, the little old lady’s possessiveness flared up. Especially won, no matter their age, always had a bit of a temper. But Professor Mu obviously did not just have a bit of temper—her temper was quite big.

Besides, she had long ago asked Lin Mo if he had plans for postgraduate exams. Since he was unwilling, if he really wanted to, what was she lacking? Would that make it seem like Old Sun was more capable?

Of course, what the little old lady could not accept the most was—she had just found a temporary assistant she was satisfied with, and that old coot wanted to steal him away? What a joke, his false teeth should ache!

So, she directly used the three words “my student” to choke Old Sun’s words back down.

Hearing Professor Mu’s words, Professor Sun laughed dryly and did not speak again. They had known each other for many years—who didn’t know each other’s personalities?

It was just a pity for such a young man who brewed such good tea. After all, Professor Sun quite liked drinking tea. Taking on an extra student really did not an much to him.

Those who did academic research had their way of guiding students, and those who muddled for diplomas had their way too. So professors treated their students like beasts of burden, while so almost beca second parents.

Ranging from helping their beloved students argue against a hall of scholars to secure thesis defense approval, to introducing jobs and even marriage partners for them.

In short, the world was diverse, and so were people. Where there were good ones, there were bad ones—just like so-called professors, who were divided into authoritative ones and useless ones.

After that, Lin Mo brewed tea for the professors inside. Nobody spoke much. After drinking enough, Lin Mo finally went out.

Mainly because inside, those big shots were discussing things he truly could not understand. He decided it was better to stay away from these high-quality humans and remain an ordinary student.

The four professors chatted simply for half an hour inside before each went back to their hotel rooms to rest.

They were all old, and the intensity of the morning eting was not low. If they did not rest at noon, these professors could not hold on.

“Professor Mu, this is your room. Everything has been placed inside. I live next door. If you need anything, just call anyti.”

Lin Mo led Professor Mu to her door, took out the key card, opened the door, and spoke.

“Mm, thank you, Little Lin. Oh, right—when we are outside, just call teacher.” Taking the card, Professor Mu thought for a mont before instructing him.

Lin Mo nodded at her words: “Alright, teacher.”

He simply went along. Compared to “Professor Mu,” “teacher” clearly felt more intimate.

In this society, even though he had the shopping platform, maintaining good interpersonal relationships was still necessary.

And in his limited twenty-so years of life, Professor Mu might have been the highest-level connection he had ever t. Since she said so, naturally he should hold onto it—who knew when it might co in handy?

They rested for two hours at noon. At 2 p.m., the eting continued. Although Lin Mo was just sitting on the sofa outside, he always felt the little old lady was inside scolding people again—and very fiercely at that.

Only until 5 p.m. did today’s eting end. Just when he thought they would go eat, Professor Mu called him back into the eting room. Inside, it was still the sa group from noon.

“Troubling Assistant Xiao Lin again, eh.”

In the room, Professor Sun sipped the tea Lin Mo brewed, speaking with satisfaction.

He already loved tea, and after tasting Lin Mo’s skill, brewing his own always felt lacking.

And since his own assistant could not do it, after the eting he had to thicken his face and co to his old friend’s place for a cup to satisfy his craving.

He even felt a little envious of Old Mu. If he had known earlier, he would have added this requirent when hiring an assistant. Next ti, he would send his Assistant Xiao Wang to learn.

“It’s no problem, Professor Sun. My teacher said, if you want to drink, just call these two days anyti.”

Lin Mo spoke, deliberately changing his words, and also subtly said sothing nice for Professor Mu.

The little old lady, holding her teacup and sipping slowly, thought the tea was delicious, but what made her happier was that her assistant made her look good.

Look at Old Sun—normally as stinky-tempered as a stone in the latrine—yet today, wasn’t he here speaking politely, all just to drink tea?

This Little Lin was her assistant. If he shone, it ant she shone too. After this, who wouldn’t know that Old Mu always carried a tea-brewing assistant with her? Just saying it out loud raised her taste level.

“If you find it troubleso, then don’t drink.” Although Professor Mu enjoyed it inwardly, she still spoke sharply.

“Alright, alright, I won’t say anything.” Professor Sun waved his hand with a smile.

anwhile, Professor Bai and Professor Cheng obviously had no intention of joining in on the quarrel between these two. They just quietly drank their tea.

This ti, Lin Mo did not leave. He brewed tea while listening to their conversation, his head buzzing.

Suddenly, his phone screen lit up on the table—it was Miss Yuan calling. Fortunately, it was on silent.

Seeing this, he casually turned the phone face-down and continued working.

“You have a call, and it’s from a girl.” Professor Mu saw the caller ID and reminded him.

Lin Mo nodded, refilled her tea, and replied: “Mm, a friend of mine. She knew I ca here, so she called. I’ll call her back later.”

“Don’t keep your friend waiting. Go on, we don’t have much left here. It’s hard enough for a young one like you to accompany us old folks. Just right, we’re about to go eat too.”

Professor Mu waved him off, signaling he was done for the day.

“She’s right, listen to your teacher. Don’t mind our age—we don’t need you to stick with us all day.” Professor Sun chuckled.

At that, Lin Mo glanced around, nodded, and refilled everyone’s tea one last ti before leaving.

After he left, Professor Bai could not help but laugh: “Senior Sister, look at you, you’re even delaying Xiao Lin’s love life.”

“That’s right, we old ones just like to watch the young with their vitality.” Professor Mu sipped her tea, stood up, and said: “Alright, we old folks should hurry and eat. There’s another small eting tonight.”

As they walked out together, they happened to see Lin Mo getting into an incredibly flashy sports car.

“Whoa, Senior Sister, didn’t expect your assistant to be extraordinary. With those conditions and such a good temperant—really impressive!”

At this, the little old lady raised her chin slightly: “That Little Lin kid is just like —steady!”

The three others: …

anwhile, inside the car, Lin Mo looked at Miss Yuan’s new ride and could not help but sigh:

“Yuan-jie, you finally look like a rich playgirl driving this car.”

“Get lost. But thanks to you, I’m in a good mood today. Big Sis is treating you to sothing nice!”

With that, accompanied by the roar of the supercar’s engine, the vehicle sped away.

Half an hour later, the car stopped at a famous local Huaiyang cuisine restaurant.

“Today, Sis is letting you eat sothing refined—Huaiyang cuisine, one of the Eight Major Cuisines. How’s that, thoughtful enough?”

Yuan ng pulled Lin Mo inside while talking.

But the next second, Lin Mo felt another hand lightly hook onto his other arm, followed by a graceful figure leaning close.

“Yuan Hua, stop asking out again. I’m afraid Xiao Mo will misunderstand.”

Lin Mo turned his head and imdiately saw the beautiful face of the great beauty Liu Rushuang. Not far away stood a well-dressed man.

Before he could react, Miss Yuan opened her mouth:

“Snowflakes drifting, north wind howling, the world a vast desolation~”

The three others: …
