Sabrina had originally ant to head straight back to her tent.

She didn’t want to bother Ross—he always looked so busy, so focused, always doing sothing for everyone else.

But when she turned to leave, her feet refused to move.

She knew exactly why.

If she went back now, she would just sit in the corner of her tent again... hugging her knees... staring at her silent phone... drowning in the sa suffocating fear.

Her boyfriend wasn’t responding. Her parents weren’t responding. Nothing.

Days had passed, and the silence felt heavier than any nightmare.

For a split second, Sabrina felt that crushing pressure in her chest—the sa feeling that had stolen her sleep every night.

I can’t do this again, she thought, forcing herself to breathe slowly.

Not tonight... I don’t want to break down again.

So instead of walking away, she turned toward the soft glow of light coming from Ross’s work area.

"You’re still working this late, Ross," she said quietly.

Her voice was soft, barely above a whisper, but in the quietness of the night, Ross heard her perfectly.

He turned, and the supplies he had been levitating—boxes, crates, sacks of food, bundles of salvaged materials—stopped midair before lowering themselves neatly to the floor.

He was organizing everything with almost obsessive precision, arranging items so the group could count, ration, and access them more easily.

When Ross faced her, the lantern beside him illuminated his features.

Sabrina had seen him many tis already, but sohow tonight... he looked different.

Calr.

Warr.

More... reassuring.

"Sabrina," Ross greeted her with a gentle smile. "I just had nothing else to do. So I figured I’d be productive instead." He tilted his head slightly. "Couldn’t sleep?"

Sabrina felt her throat tighten—not with fear this ti, but from the odd warmth his voice carried.

She stepped closer, folding her arms unconsciously, as if trying to steady herself.

When she looked up at Ross again, she froze for a heartbeat.

He was... incredibly handso.

She had always known he was good-looking—everyone did—but right now, under the pale moonlight and the golden lantern glow, he looked almost unreal.

The combination of his sharp profile, his relaxed posture, and the faint smile playing on his lips made her heart stumble in a way she hadn’t expected.

The realization shocked her so much that she montarily forgot the grief pressing on her mind.

Ross raised an eyebrow slightly, noticing her flustered expression but choosing not to comnt on it.

Instead, he simply continued rearranging a few items with a flick of his hand, leaving Sabrina a quiet space to collect herself.

And as she stood there, breathing a little easier than she had in days, she didn’t know it yet—

—but this simple, late-night mont would beco the quiet beginning of their friendship.

***

After that, Sabrina and Ross began talking more frequently, seeking each other out whenever they could, and spending more and more ti together.

With everyone confined inside the supermarket, it didn’t take long for others to notice.

The two were practically inseparable, and it quickly beca the subject of whispers and speculation among the group.

"Wow... are Sabrina and Ross... together already?" one of the won murmured to a friend, eyes flicking toward the pair as they laughed over sothing trivial.

"Most likely," the friend replied, tilting her head. "Look at them—they’re together all the ti. Always talking, always smiling around each other."

"They’d make a good match," another voice added. "They’re both stunning. You can tell they just... click."

"Ha! That’s just looks. I read sowhere that the more attractive soone is, the worse their character usually is," soone else scoffed.

"You’re ridiculous," a fourth chid in, shaking her head.

"Don’t say that about Ross. He’s helped hundreds of people here. He’s not just a pretty face—he actually cares about people!"

The whispers continued, spreading like sparks through dry grass.

People speculated, gossiped, and judged—but at the sa ti, they couldn’t help noticing the bond forming between Sabrina and Ross.

The way they moved around each other, the small gestures, the quiet understanding—they couldn’t help but pay attention.

Miku, watching from a distance, felt a strange, bitter sensation twist in her chest.

She scolded herself silently for feeling it. She was married, after all.

She shouldn’t feel this way. But try as she might to push it aside, she couldn’t.

Every glance she stole at Ross brought a rush of warmth and frustration at the sa ti.

She had already fallen hard for him—his charm, his strength, his big fat cock, the way he always seed in control—but now seeing him with Sabrina made her jealousy flare hotter than she expected.

Her thoughts betrayed her.

Why am I feeling this way? she wondered, clenching her fists.

I’m married. This is wrong. And yet... I can’t stop noticing him. And now... now he’s so close to her.

Miku’s heart ached in a way she didn’t want to admit.

She found herself torn between the reality of her marriage and the magnetic pull Ross seed to exert over everyone, herself included.

She tried to look away, to distract herself, but every laugh, every smile exchanged between Sabrina and Ross felt like a quiet stab in her chest.

It wasn’t just attraction—it was admiration, jealousy, and a nagging sense of loss all at once.

She hated herself for it. But she couldn’t deny it: Ross had a presence that was impossible to ignore.

And the more ti he spent with Sabrina, the more she realized just how deeply that presence affected her.

From that mont on, every encounter, every glance, every shared smile between Ross and Sabrina beca a silent battlefield in Miku’s heart—one she was both unwilling and unable to leave.

After Miku, another group finally reached their breaking point.

They could no longer sit idly by, waiting for orders or for so chance to present itself.

The restless energy among them was almost tangible, vibrating through the dimly lit corner and hideout.

"We move tonight."
