The thrill of pursuit teased at Ross.

There was sothing satisfying about finding a single target in such a dense, chaotic environnt, about letting his senses pick out the exceptional from the ordinary.

With a slow, deliberate grin, Ross stepped lightly into the crowd, letting the bodies around him flow like water while he cut a path toward his quarry.

To anyone else, it would have seed like he simply moved with the tide—but Ross knew exactly where he was going.

The night was young, the base overflowing, and opportunity surrounded him on all sides. He thrived on it.

As the evening lights flickered across the corridors and the hum of the base settled into a low, continuous pulse, Ross’s thoughts were already ahead, calculating, anticipating.

The woman in sight was only the first of many potential adventures tonight, yet he focused fully on the chase.

Every step brought him closer, every subtle shift in energy reaffird his awareness, and every beat of his heart reminded him of the thrill of control—the exhilaration of being the hunter in a world teetering on chaos.

Tonight, the base was his playground, and Ross intended to enjoy every second of it.

Ross shambled toward her, clearly drunk and unsteady, yet sohow still moving with purpose.

His steps weren’t straight, but his direction was.

The mont people recognized him, the crowd instinctively parted, creating a narrow path as whispers erupted all around him.

"That’s Ross! The one who saved us last night!"

"No way... he looks even better in person."

"I know, right? But look at him—he’s totally drunk."

The murmurs swelled, overlapping into a low, constant hum, but Ross ignored every single one.

The voices, the stares, the admiration—it all faded into the background. His eyes were already fixed on his next target.

She sat a few ters away, surrounded by a small group of won who were chatting quietly among themselves, laughing softly, unaware of the gaze that had locked onto her.

She wasn’t the loudest, nor the most flamboyant, but there was sothing about her—sothing calm, gentle, and inviting—that drew him in like gravity.

Ross swayed slightly as he reached her table.

Without asking, he pulled out a chair and dropped into it beside her, resting one arm casually on the backrest.

"Hi there, beautiful. How are you tonight?" he said, his voice low, warm, and slightly slurred.

The woman paused, clearly caught off guard. Her friends slowly quieted, their eyes shifting between her and Ross, curiosity and excitent flickering across their faces.

"I’m... good. How about you?" she replied after a brief mont, forcing a polite smile.

Of course, she knew who he was. Everyone did.

Ever since last night, his na had been everywhere—spoken in awe, fear, admiration, and disbelief.

Videos of his feats had flooded social dia, shared across platforms, replayed millions of tis.

She had watched more than a few of them herself, unable to look away from the man who seed larger than life.

But seeing him in person was entirely different.

He was taller than she expected, broader too, with a presence that made the space around him feel smaller.

His face, sharp and handso on screen, was even more striking up close—his eyes dark, intense, and strangely alive despite the alcohol dulling his movents.

She t his gaze and felt a strange flutter in her chest, a mix of nervousness and curiosity.

"I’m doing great," Ross replied, leaning closer than necessary, his breath warm, carrying the faint scent of alcohol. "Just enjoying the night... and I think it just got a lot better."

Her friends exchanged glances, so amused, so surprised, so openly envious.

The woman shifted slightly in her seat, unsure whether to laugh, pull away, or lean in.

"Well," she said softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "that’s one way to start a conversation."

Ross chuckled, a low, rough sound, and tilted his head, studying her as if she were the most interesting thing in the room.

"I never liked wasting ti," he said. "Especially when sothing—or soone—catches my eye."

The words lingered between them, charged and heavy, and for a brief mont, the world around them seed to blur, leaving only the two of them seated side by side, on the edge of sothing neither fully understood yet.

"I’m Ross, by the way," he said, his voice low and smooth, the faint slur of alcohol only making it sound more relaxed.

"I know. My na is Jenny." She extended her hand politely, a small, confident smile playing on her lips.

Ross took it, giving a firm but brief shake, his fingers lingering just a second longer than necessary.

"Nice to et you, Jenny," he said, leaning slightly closer, his dark eyes scanning her face with a mix of curiosity and amusent.

"Don’t you think it’s a little crowded here? How about we step sowhere quieter... maybe grab so coffee at my place?" His tone was casual, but the aning behind it was anything but subtle.

Jenny blinked, montarily caught off guard.

She hadn’t expected soone to be so blunt, so forward.

Her cheeks ward slightly, and for a heartbeat, she simply stared at him, trying to gauge if he was joking.

But there was no mistaking the intensity in his gaze.

After a few deep breaths, she regained her composure.

"I’m... sorry, but I’m good here," she said, her tone polite but firm, refusing to let herself be flustered.

Ross’s lips curved into a small, amused smile. "Oh? That’s fine too," he replied casually, his confidence unwavering.

He leaned back just enough to give her space but didn’t retreat.

Instead, he continued the conversation with ease, asking about her night, her friends, her favorite spots in the city, all while his dark eyes never left her face.

Inside, Ross was already planning.

Tonight hadn’t gone exactly as he wanted—it wasn’t the instant victory he often enjoyed—but he wasn’t discouraged.

He knew it was only a matter of ti before he’d have Jenny where he wanted her.
