Hidden within the shadows, Liora silently followed the fight between Marquis Lavender and the female mber of the Holy Church.
The techniques used by the pair were reflected in her crimson pupils, continuously analyzed, and digested to enrich her knowledge.
Marquis Lavender seed to have reached the peak of the Great Knight rank a long ti ago and possessed extensive combat experience, allowing him to employ a variety of skills.
Purple Sky Slash, Overlord Armor, Lavender Step...
Liora watched him perform elegant Knight skills one after another, with so being offensive, so defensive, and so simply granting him mobility.
Coupled with his excellent overall combat experience, he displayed combat power that would make even other Great Knights flinch.
However, although the robed woman was only a True Knight, she didn’t fall far behind him.
By continuously activating the scepter to form holy power, she was able to cast a variety of skills as well, successfully resisting the Marquis’s onslaught.
Still, watching from a third-person perspective, Liora quickly noticed that she was gradually falling into disadvantage.
’After all, the scepter is rely a blessed item that can enhance one’s combat power.’
’Though it can indeed help a True Knight battle against a Great Knight for a short period of ti, it can’t truly bless them with such combat power. The weakness of using such items is always the user themselves.’
Liora could guess that the Life Force of the robed woman would deplete sooner or later, consud by the scepter as a fuel.
At that ti, without the capacity to rely on the holy scepter, she would easily be beaten by the Marquis.
The robed woman also seed to recognize this.
While avoiding the sword slashes of Marquis Lavender, her figure wandered throughout the room, attempting to think of a way to escape.
She specifically road around the entrance and the small hidden door that the Marquis had tossed his son into, knowing that these two were her only hopes of escaping this hall.
Unfortunately for her, the Marquis also understood this.
Every ti the robed woman showed signs of wanting to break free, he would ruthlessly lunge at her, activating Purple Sky Slash and forcing her to retreat.
Slowly but surely, he managed to contain her within the room and began trimming down her Life Force.
Watching this happen, Liora didn’t take action. Instead, she chose to remain hidden.
She had no reason to aid the robed woman in dealing with the Marquis, nor would it bring her any benefit.
Although she intended to slay the mbers of the Necronomicon Sect—including the Marquis—this didn’t an that she and the woman were allies.
If anything, Liora had every reason to wish for the robed woman’s death.
After all, her relationship with the Holy Church was not good, and it could be said that it was quite bad.
When the Holy Church discovered her involvent with the Black Tulip family and learned of her massacre of its mbers, they would surely designate her as an enemy and try to hunt her down.
Thus, rather than stepping forward and saving soone who might end up being a foe, it was better and smarter for Liora to wait for the robed woman to die.
At that point, the woman should have exhausted so of the Marquis’s energy and Life Force, making him a far easier target to deal with.
Unfortunately, sotis plans could not keep up with changes.
Finding herself as the weaker party and feeling her Life Force trickling away, the robed woman’s expression changed.
Her eyebrows furrowed for a brief mont, and, as if she had made a difficult decision, she exhaled softly.
Then, she shifted her gaze toward the shadow that Liora was currently in and opened her mouth to speak:
"Aren’t you going to co out? When the Marquis is done dealing with , he will never let you go either!", the robed woman spoke loudly, her voice soft yet dispersing throughout the hall.
The words imdiately startled Marquis Lavender.
To say the truth, detection had always been the weakest of his abilities.
Otherwise, no matter how uncommon the thods used by the robed woman to conceal herself were, he would have been able to detect her long ago.
Still, the woman’s words stunned him.
According to her, there was another, third person hidden in the room.
And, perhaps most importantly, they were silently observing their battle without him noticing anything.
Thinking of this, a chill ran down the Marquis’s spine. If the robed woman hadn’t ntioned it, he would have never known of their existence.
If he had let down his guard and the unidentified person took the opportunity to sneak attack him, wouldn’t he have died?
Wouldn’t he have t his demise before completing his grand plans?
Instinctively, Marquis Lavender executed another Purple Sky Slash, knocking the robed woman away.
Then, he took a couple of steps back, opening so distance with the shadow the woman had just addressed.
Just when he believed that he was safe, though, a blurry figure flashed out of the opposite corner of the room.
Holding the Spear of the Blighted Sun with her hands, Liora glided through the room and teleported behind the Marquis.
The demonic flas twisting around the spear raged fiercely as she lifted the handle slightly and thrust the spear ahead.
Her attack was violent, and despite the robed woman’s earlier warning, she still caught Marquis Lavender off guard.
Yet, since the Marquis had managed to beco a Great Knight, he was not to be underestimated.
Feeling the chilling air grazing against his back and the countless warning signs ringing in his heart, he was forced to make a split-second decision.
Instantly, Marquis Lavender understood that he would not be able to guard against the assassin’s sneak attack with his current strength.
Thus, he chose to ignite his Life Seed.
With a move of his mind, the purple seed hidden in his abdon burst with power.
From it, vast amounts of Life Force began pouring out, filling every inch of his body and providing him with strength.
