Darius broke out in a cold sweat when he realized his current predicant. He could neither advance nor retreat, and even the other assassins looked nervous as they stared at the guards.
Darius gritted his teeth and said,
"Attack these guards!"
In his opinion, compared to the freakish Victor and Amber, the guards should be much easier to deal with.
All of them pulled out machine guns fitted with silencers from their storage spaces and pointed them at the guards, who looked back with amusent.
"OPEN FIRE!"
Darius shouted while glaring at the guards.
Hundreds of bullets flew toward the guards every second, but the mont they struck the soldiers, they shattered upon impact.
"W-What the fuck?!"
Darius and the assassins were stunned by what they were witnessing.
"Hehe, do you think normal bullets could kill soone wearing armor from the gas?"
Victor said in a disdainful voice.
Darius looked at him and shouted,
"Impossible! How did you even manage to equip them with so much armor? The drop rate for even the lowest-ranked equipnt is extrely low, and the quality of these items is very high. Even the top families don’t have this much equipnt!"
"Guess."
Victor replied with an annoying smirk.
"Guess your head, you bastard!"
Darius shouted with bloodshot eyes as he brought out several grenades from his storage space.
"Move out of the way!"
Darius shouted to his fellow assassins.
As they jumped away, he tossed the grenades toward the guards, who didn’t move a muscle.
BOOOM!
A huge explosion erupted, and the blast swallowed all the guards.
"Haha! That’s what you get for your arrogance!"
Darius said with a maniacal laugh.
"Hmm, a barrier?"
Darius frowned when he saw a cubic barrier that had appeared without his knowledge receding, but then his pupils constricted when he saw that Victor’s guards were completely unscathed by the blast.
"Impossible!"
One of the assassins directly fell onto his butt.
"Damn, was that your doing with the barrier?"
Darius glared at Victor.
Victor raised an eyebrow and said,
"That barrier had nothing to do with them. That was only a sound barrier. I didn’t want the neighbors to freak out because of ."
"Bullshit!"
Darius snapped.
He didn’t believe Victor one bit, and in his eyes, Victor must have done sothing to save the guards.
Suddenly, one of the guards drew a dagger.
Whoosh!
"AAAAH! My hands!"
One of the assassins had his hand severed.
Then another.
And another.
In less than a minute, the guards had disard all of the assassins except Darius, their leader.
Darius swallowed nervously after witnessing the brutal scene.
The assassins were all screaming in agony as blood gushed from their grievous wounds.
"It’s over."
Darius said in a defeated tone, regretting ever taking this mission as he watched all the other assassins being slaughtered by the guards.
"So, who was the person who hired you to kill ?"
Victor asked after stopping in front of Darius.
Spat.
"I won’t say anything."
Darius said while glaring at Victor and spat on the ground.
Seeing this, Amber, beside Victor, turned cold and delivered a kick to Darius.
The room shook slightly when Darius’s body slamd into the wall, leaving behind a large crack.
Victor expressionlessly approached him and spoke in a low voice.
"If you tell us the truth, I might give you a quick death."
"On the other hand, if you don’t, I will personally torture you for years."
Victor suddenly said.
Darius’s body trembled in fear upon hearing such horrifying words, and he subconsciously muttered aloud,
"Heh, you’re bluffing."
Darius said with fear in his voice.
"Is that so? Do you think I’m joking?"
Victor smirked as his face began to shift rapidly.
Darius watched in horror, and then his pupils constricted to the size of pinpricks when Victor’s face transford into a different one.
"You..."
Darius’s body started to tremble when he saw Victor’s current face.
He could never forget it.
This was the NPC responsible for his humiliating defeat—Frost Eye.
"How is this possible? How can you co out of the ga?"
Darius’s body trembled in fear as he asked in a hoarse voice.
"Why can’t I? If items and monsters can co out of the ga, why not NPCs?"
Victor said in an amused tone and then pointed at Amber and all his guards.
"They are also from the ga."
’Fuck, this world is dood.’
Hearing Victor’s words, Darius was completely dumbfounded and looked at the soldiers once more.
It finally made sense why Victor had so many Awakeners under his command and why they were so strong.
A few minutes later, Amber directly froze him into an ice sculpture and shattered him into pieces.
"Hah, I knew it. It was those dumb bastards."
Victor smirked coldly.
"What are you going to do?"
Amber asked with a raised eyebrow.
"What else? I can’t let this go unanswered now, can I?"
Victor replied with a cold look on his face.

Alan, Brian, Riley, and Anna Armour were currently in their mansion tending to their sons.
"Brian, are you sure nothing will go wrong?"
Anna asked, looking at her husband worriedly.
She had a vague feeling that sothing bad was going to happen.
"Don’t worry, sister-in-law. The Shadowless Guild’s reputation is rock solid because even if their assassins die or get tortured, they never reveal the identities of their clients."
Alan said confidently.
But the next mont—
Rumble!
The entire mansion suddenly shook.
"What’s happening?!"
Riley said as she stumbled and fell to the ground.
Everyone looked at each other in confusion and grabbed nearby furniture for support.
"Guards!"
Alan shouted.
Bang!
One of the guards hurriedly entered the room and said,
"Mr. Armour, soone is robbing the private vault!"
"What?!"
Alan and Brian scread.
"And... and..."
The guard stamred, and everyone was struck by an even greater sense of unease.
"And what?!"
Alan roared in anger.
"Young Master Kevin has been killed."
The guard finally said.
"N-No way..."
Kevin’s mother collapsed onto the floor as her face turned pale.
"What?! Which bastard did it?!"
Alan scread as he rushed out of the room, and the others followed closely behind.
