Though Michael could not personally head toward the capital immediately, that did not stop him from sending his regards to everyone involved in Arianne’s death.
Of course, he did not actually know which individuals had merely followed orders and which ones had actively participated willingly.
But he knew the mastermind. Thanks to the memories harvested from the men aboard the flying ship, Michael could now recognize that person instantly, even if they met face to face for the very first time.
That alone was enough.
The Third Prince frowned while staring toward the flying ship before him.
Or more accurately, toward the figures standing beneath it.
Several dozen servants stood there motionlessly.
These were the people he had sent with his envoy to find trouble with that Mic Nor.
Yet right now, something about them felt wrong.
Very wrong.
Their expressions were pletely blank.
Drool slowly leaked from the corners of their mouths.
Their pupils looked unfocused.
Some swayed slightly while standing there.
Others simply remained still like puppets whose strings had been cut.
The Third Prince’s brows furrowed deeper in disgust.
"What happened to them?"
No answer came immediately.
Even the surrounding guards looked uneasy.
Princess Priscilla’s expression subtly changed as she stared toward the servants.
Meanwhile, beside the prince, Master Veyl’s eyes gradually narrowed.
Then, a sudden change occurred as every servant slowly lifted their head.
More than forty pairs of eyes instantly locked onto the Third Prince simultaneously.
The sudden movement caused several nearby guards to visibly flinch.
Even the Third Prince himself instinctively took half a step backward.
The atmosphere instantly turned eerie.
The servants’ blank expressions remained unchanged.
Drool still dripped from their mouths.
Yet now, every single one of them stared directly at him.
Master Veyl’s expression suddenly changed.
"Move!"
BOOM!
The black-robed man instantly pushed the Third Prince backward while roaring toward the guards.
"Protect His Highness!"
The surrounding imperial guards immediately reacted.
Weapons were drawn instantly.
Mana surged violently throughout the flying port.
At the same moment, Master Veyl charged directly toward the group of servants with astonishing speed.
However, before he could reach them, all forty-plus servants suddenly smiled.
The exact same smile.
Then, in perfect unison, they spoke.
"So..."
"...this is the Third Prince."
The moment those words echoed throughout the port, the Third Prince’s pupils contracted violently.
Master Veyl roared as terrifying flames instantly erupted around his body.
BOOM!
The air distorted violently from the sheer temperature alone.
At the same moment, several of the servants suddenly shot toward him at astonishing speed.
Their movements were pletely unnatural.
Jerky.
Twisted.
Yet horrifyingly fast.
Master Veyl’s expression changed immediately.
Those people were ordinary servants!
How could they possibly move like this?
However, just before collision occurred, Master Veyl’s expression suddenly changed drastically.
"BACK!"
The old man’s instincts screamed in warning.
Without hesitation, he immediately abandoned his attack and instead threw up multiple layers of blazing defensive barriers around himself.
Then, BOOOOOOM!!!
The servants’ bodies exploded simultaneously.
Massive explosions of dark energy and flesh erupted throughout the flying port like dozens of miniature catastrophes detonating at once.
The surrounding ground shattered instantly.
Several nearby guards did not even have time to scream before their bodies were torn apart by the blast.
The flying ship behind them trembled violently as cracks spread across its surface.
Priscilla’s expression changed sharply.
In the next instant, she disappeared from her original location.
BOOM!
A massive wave of mana erupted around her as she shielded the nearby Lionheart personnel behind a barrier of pressed force.
Meanwhile, the imperial guards around the Third Prince also reacted desperately.
Several of the mages among them immediately threw themselves forward while activating defensive artifacts.
Layers of barriers appeared around the prince one after another.
The explosions slammed into them violently.
CRACK!
The outer layers shattered almost instantly.
The Third Prince screamed as the shockwave sent him rolling backward across the ground.
Fortunately, Master Veyl’s defenses and the guards’ protection still prevented him from dying.
But not everyone was so lucky.
Screams echoed throughout the port.
Blood splattered everywhere.
Several servants and weaker guards were instantly reduced to pieces.
Others collapsed while coughing blood violently.
Smoke and dark energy rapidly spread through the surroundings.
For several brief moments, chaos pletely overtook the port.
Then slowly, the smoke began clearing.
Master Veyl’s figure emerged first.
The old man looked unusually grim now.
His defensive flames still flickered around him while his sharp eyes locked onto the remaining servants.
Not all of them had exploded, after all.
Several still remained standing.
Priscilla’s heart skipped slightly when their heads suddenly turned toward her.
Every single one of them stared at her simultaneously.
The sight alone was enough to make the surrounding Lionheart soldiers shiver.
However, after only a brief glance, the servants slowly turned away from her again.
Then, all their eyes locked back onto the Third Prince.
The prince’s face had already gone pale.
For the first time since arriving in the Lionheart Kingdom, real fear appeared within his eyes.
At this point, he could already tell he was being targeted by someone terrifying.
Was it that Mic Nor?
Was he truly this powerful?
In truth, the prince’s guess was right on the mark.
With thousands of undead under him, Michael had access to countless abilities he could copy.
Something like mind control or taking over another person’s consciousness was easy for him.
Jester’s abilities alone were more than enough for this.
In fact, it was Jester’s ability Michael had used to control their consciousness, at the small price of splitting his own consciousness into several bodies.
As for the mutation of the servants’ bodies, that was also Michael’s work.
At first, he had only planned to send a group of human bombs to the prince.
But what he never expected was that, in his quest for a small payback, he would discover another application of his law.
Basically, Michael’s understanding of his law was that he could use the abilities of anything connected to him.
Instinctively, he had only been using it to copy the abilities of his undead and tamed beasts.
But who said he could only use his law through his own body?
