Now reading: Chapter 497 Exhaustion from Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World, a Action novel by Drakon.

Michael’s attention snapped to the updated details.

[Venomfang Spear]

[Rank: Extraordinary★]

[Type: Poison Spear]

Effect: Inflicts an exceptionally virulent poison on the target, dealing severe continuous damage over ti and drastically weakening their defenses.

Skill – Serpent’s Lunge: Instantly extends the spear’s reach by up to 10 ters in a straight line, striking with 150% attack power and injecting a concentrated dose of venom. 30-second cooldown. Up to three tis use with a seven days cooldown.

Michael exhaled slowly, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

Extraordinary rank was where weapons stopped being passive tools.

Below this tier, a weapon was defined entirely by its effect, the material and the power of the two matched together.

But now... it had a skill. A true, active ability.

"Now we’re talking," he murmured, his fingers itching to test it.

But he didn’t take it out.

Because.

Michael felt he could still do more.

Not only did he have more than enough evolution points remaining.

He knew he still had more for one more evolution so he did it.

He evolved it again.

Michael didn’t hesitate.

The mont the prompt appeared, he confird.

[Upgrade: Extraordinary★ → Extraordinary★★★] [Cost: 625 Evolution Points]

The soul space lit up once more.

The spear pulsed with an ominous rhythm, each beat sending a faint shockwave through his mind.

The pull on his soul energy grew stronger, sharper, until he could almost feel the threads binding his consciousness being stretched thin.

Yet, rather than resisting, Michael allowed it. He felt he could still hold on.

The obsidian shaft darkened further, the etched runes flaring brighter before settling into a steady, venomous glow.

The spearhead took on a faintly translucent sheen, as though it was forged from crystallized poison rather than tal. The serpent ornant at its base shifted—no longer a re carving, but a miniature construct with scales that glead and gemstone eyes that swirled faintly with green light.

[Venomfang Spear]

[Rank: Extraordinary★★★]

[Type: Poison Spear]

Effect: Inflicts a lethal-grade venom on the target, dealing devastating damage over ti, crippling movent, and drastically weakening defenses.

Skill – Serpent’s Lunge: Instantly extends the spear’s reach by up to 30 ters in a straight line, striking with 250% attack power and injecting a hyper-concentrated dose of venom. Usable five tis before a seven-day cooldown.

Skill – Fangbreaker: Upon striking a poisoned enemy, detonate the venom within their system, dealing imdiate burst damage equal to the accumulated DoT (Damage over Ti) and stunning the target for 2 seconds. 60-second cooldown.

Michael’s gaze lingered on the second skill.

Burst damage and a stun. A brutal synergy.

A smile spread across his face, but he no longer lingered in his soul space.

Not because he didn’t want to, but because he was dead tired.

Drained from the spear’s evolution just now, Michael knew he couldn’t continue. In this state, if he pushed himself again, he might actually die from overexertion. His mind was so blurry he felt he could faint at any mont.

"Jester, I’ll sleep for a while now. If anybody tries to harm , protect ."

—Yes, Master.

The mont he heard the voice, Michael lost consciousness.

But even before he did, he didn’t panic.

Though Jester didn’t have a body, it didn’t limit his lethality. The cultivation thods acquired from Li Yang were what made a body truly valuable to him, but even as nothing more than a lump of flesh, Jester’s danger level was absurd.

After Michael’s five Rank 3 undead, it wasn’t an exaggeration to say Jester was almost top one among them. He was that dangerous.

Of course, no one was perfect—not even Jester—but Michael had no ti to regret exhausting himself into unconsciousness now.

Not only in this body in the Land of Origin... but also the one in Aurora..

*

When Michael’s eyes snapped open again, it wasn’t his study room in the Land of Origin that greeted him.

It was a sudden, icy splash of water to the face.

He flinched hard, sputtering as the cold hit him, sharp enough to jolt every nerve awake.

Droplets clung to his lashes, blurring the room into vague shapes until he blinked rapidly, forcing his vision into focus.

Standing before him was his aunt, Mia, her posture tense despite the casual way she held the tal bucket in both hands. The rim still dripped steadily, leaving small dark spots on the polished wooden floor.

From the faint crease between her brows, Michael guessed she’d been calling his na for a while.

He turned his head slowly, still fighting off the haze clouding his mind.

The first thing that caught his eye was the deep green sofa beneath him. Its velvet upholstery was slightly worn along the armrest, the kind of texture you only noticed when you’d sat in the sa spot too long.

A thin throw blanket had slipped halfway off his lap, one corner hanging limp over the edge. The air slled faintly of brewed tea—probably from the kitchen.

His posture was exactly as it had been yesterday when he returned from Mia’s restaurant.

Michael mind flashed back to after he has replied Mira’s ssage. How had he gone from that to—

Michael’s thoughts halted mid-step.

He froze for a mont, dazed, his lips parting as if to speak before the words caught in his throat.

"What... ti is it?" His voice ca out low, rough, still tinged with sleep.

"Seven-thirty," Mia replied, her tone almost too casual.

The number sank into his ears like a drop of ink in clear water, slowly spreading until it stained every corner of his awareness.

Michael’s sluggish mind caught up to the implication at the exact sa ti his heart gave a sharp thump.

A new day.

Not just a new day—

The second day of his college exams.

One didn’t need to ask what happened after that.

Michael sped run his life like a movie.
