Of course, the envoy already had an idea who the terrifying figure seated before him was.
Perhaps if he had arrived empty-handed, he might not have imdiately recognized him. But with the severed head he had personally delivered, there was almost no need to guess anymore.
If he was not mistaken, this should be Viscount Mic. The sa Viscount the imperial prince had casually spoken about before they departed. The sa young noble the prince had laughingly told them to "have so fun with."
At the ti, none of them had taken the matter seriously. After all, according to the information gathered by the empire, Mic Nor's strength should at most have been around the late stage of the Grand Stage.
Strong among younger generations. But nothing more.
Yet now, the envoy's body trembled violently.
Among the five n who had accompanied him earlier, two had been Grand Stage supernaturals. Real Grand Stage experts.
And yet, the mont this monster appeared, their heads had exploded instantly. Not even a chance to scream. Not even a chance to beg for rcy.
The envoy's thoughts beca chaotic.
Grand Stage? Bullshit! What kind of Grand Stage monster could kill people like this? Especially considering he hadn't even sensed Michael using any skills. It was pure suppression. Pure overwhelming power.
The envoy's breathing beca increasingly ragged.
anwhile, Michael sat silently upon the throne-like chair while holding Arianne's severed head gently in one hand. His cold gaze rested upon the trembling envoy below.
Truthfully speaking, Michael himself did not fully understand what had co over him. Normally, even if he was angry, he still retained a certain level of restraint and rationality. But now he felt unusually impulsive. Irritated. Annoyed. Disgusted.
Especially while looking at the people from the empire.
The mont he saw them, the image of Arianne's severed head inside that bloodstained box resurfaced in his mind again. And because of that, the other four n had died before they could even open their mouths.
Michael's fingers lightly brushed through Arianne's crimson-stained hair. The envoy noticed the action and his scalp imdiately went numb.
At this mont, even a fool could understand the relationship between the head and Michael's current state.
The envoy suddenly regretted everything. Why had he volunteered for this mission? Why had he listened to that damned prince? And most importantly, why had the empire's intelligence been so horribly wrong?
The pressure suffocating the hall grew heavier again.
What the envoy did not know was that putting aside whatever relationship Arianne had shared with Michael, as long as soone killed another person because of him, they would not end well. The only difference was that the manner of their end depended on what relationship that person had shared with Michael.
The envoy imdiately smashed his forehead against the ground repeatedly.
"Please spare !"
"I-I was only following orders!"
"I know nothing! I swear I know nothing!"
Blood soon started dripping from his forehead due to how hard he slamd it against the wooden floor of the flying ship.
Michael continued ignoring him as he sorted through his thoughts.
Though he was feeling impulsive, he hadn't actually killed those four simply from seeing them. When he first arrived he had asked who the envoy was, but feeling too irritated to wait for them to speak he froze their movents with his mana and randomly chose one of the five figures to read his mind. Michael normally avoided this, but against these people he could not care less what his actions would do to them.
With his current intelligence and the imnse computing power it granted him, for people far weaker than himself Michael only needed a second to access a wealth of their mories.
In doing so, from the person whose mory he had read he found out who the envoy among the five was, but he also found sothing else. This particular fellow was quite disgusting. As soone from the empire, even as an ordinary guard, he had used his status to commit unsightly acts within the kingdom in the short period of ti he had been there. In Aurora, even one of those actions would have earned him a long prison sentence, and this was just one among many. The man was a repeated offender.
If Michael had been entirely clear-headed, though he would not have let the figure off lightly, they might have still been able to live in the end. Unfortunately, with a clouded mind, Michael killed the fellow out of irritation without a second thought. He also felt no guilt over it. Such an animal deserved it.
As for the other four, in the next few seconds Michael took to read their minds, these fellows turned out to be no cleaner. As expected, birds of a feather flocked together, so Michael sent them all to the netherworld to keep each other company.
Now only the envoy remained, and Michael still had so use for him.
"Who killed her?"
The envoy imdiately slamd his forehead against the floor again. "It wasn't , My Lord! I swear it wasn't !"
His voice cracked from fear. "I-I only followed orders! Everything was ordered by the Third Prince!"
The envoy instantly betrayed his actual master without the slightest hesitation. Right now, survival was the only thing remaining in his mind.
The envoy's entire body trembled violently as he hurriedly continued speaking.
"A few days ago, after arriving in the Lionheart Kingdom, the imperial delegation was welcod with a banquet by the royal family!"
"That was where we first heard your na!"
"The Lionheart Kingdom's Tenth Prince ntioned you first, together with another noble from the kingdom!"
"At first, the Third Prince did not care much! But after hearing more details regarding you, he began taking an interest in you."
Michael remained expressionless.
The envoy lowered his head further.
"To be honest, although Prince Rui's disappearance was serious, not many people within the imperial family were truly heartbroken over it. Prince Rui had many enemies inside the royal family itself."
"The empire rely viewed this incident as an opportunity."
Michael's gaze beca colder with impatience.
The envoy hurriedly continued.
