"The peace of submission?" Sulyvhan spat a mouthful of black blood onto the rock. "You call that the enslavent of souls? I should have listened to the warnings... You can’t trust a woman of your kind."
He then turned toward the seven generals who were encircling him with their new arcane powers... Draken, Stavenger, Ashborn, Silvernight, Kaelen, Pendragon and Dantalion stood ready, their faces marked by an arrogance that only divine power could generate.
"And you..." growled Sulyvhan as he pointed his two twin blades toward them. "My ’brothers in arms’. You have traded your honor for a leash. You think this arcane mana will make you equal to the gods? You are nothing but dogs that have just been vaccinated against freedom."
"Enough talk, Sulyvhan!" thundered General Draken, his red eyes shining with a new fire. "Your era is over. We are the new pillars of humanity!"
The fight began with unheard-of violence... Kaeleb launched the charge, brandishing his axe wrapped in arcane flas. Sulyvhan did not use magic, because he possessed none. He relied solely on his Art and his absolute mastery of aura.
< Art : Sundering Eclipse >
< First movent : Crescent Moon >
A blade of white aura burst from his alabaster sword, eting Draken’s attack head-on... The explosion of power was so strong that the ground split beneath their feet.
Sulyvhan did not stop there. He used < Aura Repulsion > under his boots to propel himself toward General Pendragon who was trying to crush him under a gravity field.
"Your gravity is nothing against the void of my eclipse!" shouted Sulyvhan in mid-air.
< Second movent : Quarter Moon >
The trails of his aura remained suspended in the air behind him, forming unstable arcs of light... While Pendragon increased the pressure to immobilize his forr master, Sulyvhan twisted his wrist.
The aura residues reacted instantly, transforming into secondary blades that struck Pendragon in his blind spot. The general scread in pain as his arms were lacerated by the cutting energy.
Dantalion intervened then, using his ti manipulation to slow Sulyvhan’s movents. The sovereign felt his limbs grow heavy, as if he were moving through molasses...
"You think you can trap ti?" mocked Sulyvhan as he strained his muscles, the chains on his arms sinking deeper into his flesh to pump his vitality.
He released an omnidirectional discharge of < Repulsion >, breaking the temporal stasis through the sheer force of his will... He reappeared in front of Stavenger in the blink of an eye thanks to a < Dash > pushed to its peak.
His black blade sank into the tactician’s shoulder, blood spurting out in a scarlet gush.
However, the seven generals coordinated their attacks with deadly efficiency, encouraged by the blessings of the Seraphs... Silvernight projected blinding rays of light while Kaelen used mana chains to try to hinder Sulyvhan’s movents.
The sovereign received blow after blow. A silver spear pierced his thigh, and a burst of fire burned his left side. His plate armor was in tatters, revealing his muscular torso covered in scars and blood.
"Look at him..." sneered General Dantalion while preparing an incantation.
"The great Sulyvhan is nothing more than a wounded animal that refuses to die."
Sulyvhan straightened up, panting, his silver hair soiled with dust and blood. He felt his endurance drop drastically, each movent of Sundering Eclipse devouring his life force... He looked one last ti at Loriel who was watching him from the heavens, and a bitter, almost insane smile stretched across his bloodied lips.
"So this is where it all ends for ..." he murmured to himself. "But if I fall, I will make sure you can never forget my na. I will show you what it really ans to be banished from hell."
A black and icy energy began to swirl around him, denser than any aura he had manifested so far...
"Fuse your soul with the sword..." he recited. "Pierce the sky and awaken the new moon..."
The space around him began to fragnt. The seven generals, sensing the danger, instinctively retreated, their divine auras flickering before this singularity of darkness...
"What is he doing?" stamred Kaelen, his voice trembling.
"He... he is consuming himself!" cried Draken.
Sulyvhan crossed his two swords in front of his face. His eyes were now nothing but two pits of liquid silver void. The eclipse tattoo on his back shone with a light so intense that it seed to consu his remaining clothes.
< Genesis : Infinite Lunar Eclipse>
In an instant, the ravine was plunged into total darkness, an absence of light so absolute that it seed to have a physical mass capable of crushing lungs. Inside this domain, Sulyvhan was no longer a man; he had beco the physical manifestation of his own end.
He moved. His speed was no longer quantifiable by mortal or divine senses.
He appeared in front of General Draken... The "hero" did not even have ti to raise his axe. In the silence of the eclipse, Sulyvhan sliced off both his arms before plunging his ebony blade into his plexus. Draken’s blood did not spurt out; it was instantly absorbed by the void, leaving only a desiccated corpse that crumbled into black dust.
He turned toward Stavenger. The tactician tried to flee through a temporal rift, but Sulyvhan grabbed his head with his free hand. A pulse of pure aura pulverized the general’s skull, spreading brain and pieces of bone onto the basaltic ground before the eclipse erased them completely...
One by one, he hunted down his forr generals in the darkness he had created. This was no longer a fight, it was an execution. Limbs were severed, necks broken, entrails emptied in a deathly silence disturbed only by the sounds of tearing flesh... Sulyvhan moved with the grace of an ultimate predator, each blow struck being the conclusion of three centuries of hatred and betrayal.
When the darkness finally dissipated, nothing remained of the seven generals on the ravine floor, only piles of gray ashes carried away by the wind of Tenebris... Sulyvhan stood upright, leaning heavily on his swords planted in the rock. His body was covered in luminous cracks, gray aura escaping from his pores as his physical form began to collapse.
He raised his eyes toward Loriel. She was the only survivor, protected by her rank and her distance... Her marble face was distorted by a terror that no celestial entity should have felt. She had seen the man she claid to protect massacre his equals as if they were re cattle.
"Loriel..." murmured Sulyvhan, his voice now only a distant breath. "Look closely... This is the legacy I leave to this world. One day, soone will co to claim my debt. And on that day, even your Seraphs will have nowhere to hide."
But in the end it was useless, every ti the generals died, he resurrected.
