Ace sighed. Things had happened so quickly that he didn’t have ti to train himself in his new powers or get used to them. He had rushed to kill and get information from Head Librarian Teresa, and now he had gotten himself into a bit of a situation.
He needed to find a way to get out of this.
"Who are the higher-ups?" Ace asked. He watched as Jade crouched beside him and began to search his body.
Jade shook his head. "You really don’t bring anything with you? And what’s with this raven costu? I can’t get your mask off."
Ace said flatly, "It’s an expensive costu. And don’t bother with the mask unless you are ready to tear my face off."
Jade stopped searching him after he realized there was nothing on him except the tattoo still on his left hand. "We’ll do sothing with that later."
Ace didn’t give up. "Who are the higher-ups? I know about Darius Faulkner, but who else?"
Jade didn’t answer as he bent down to lift him.
Alarm flared through Ace. He really didn’t want to leave and et the ’higher-ups.’ He knew things he wouldn’t like would happen. "Wait! Did he know you are here?"
"Who?" Jade demanded, slinging him over his shoulder.
"Liming Dawn!"
Jade shuddered and stiffened.
Ace was surprised at Jade’s reaction, but he continued anyway. "I’m sure your friends don’t know about this. What do you think will happen if Liming Dawn finds out?"
Ace was using every possible thod to stall for ti, hoping that the paralyzing effects would wear off.
Jade snorted. "Liming Dawn. The golden child of the Academy. I think he wouldn’t mind, as long as I do not go overboard. That guy is so obsessed with power that it’s frightening sotis."
"You know, I might actually involve him in this. If he’ll gain more power, then he would definitely want to be involved," Jade finished.
’...and yet in the end, it wasn’t enough...’ Ace thought. But he didn’t say that out loud. "Look. We can talk about this..."
Jade cut him off. "Seriously. Thank you for getting out of the Dungeon the other ti. We’re even now!"
Ace didn’t think he’d ever et soone so openly shaless like this guy. He paused for a mont before he continued speaking slowly. "How are we even?"
"For not killing you. You know, I could kill you for attacking Head Librarian Teresa, but I chose not to. I’m only going to hand you over to the Academy."
"You’re handing to Darius Faulkner."
"Yes," Jade said simply. The next mont, he dropped him again and then lood over him. "You talk too much..."
"See kettle calling...!!"
Before Ace could finish speaking, Jade already gave him a brutal chop to the neck, and he passed out.

When Ace Eros woke up, he found himself in an office that was lit by bright light. He still couldn’t move his body.
"You are awake, boy," Darius Faulkner said.
He leaned far too close for Ace’s comfort. "The seed of Pain."
Even with his body in such a state, Ace felt a shudder run through him. "What are you talking about? Who are you?"
Darius Faulkner snorted and moved away. "Ace Eros. You truly are good at hiding. To think you can already rember everything. But one thing you lacked is foresight. You start to gain powers and attract attention to yourself."
’...no...how am I supposed to know that my host has such a colorful past? This is sothing that an extra shouldn’t have, and yet it’s just my luck that my host is caught between so sick twisted rituals...’
"But you have indeed exceeded my expectations. For you to co back from Sector Delta unscathed. The Eros bloodline proves its worth once again."
"I didn’t co back unscathed, I was..." Suddenly Ace paused. "What do you an by the Eros bloodline?"
The way Darius said it, it wasn’t just a common word. He said it as if there was a lot of history behind it. Ace tried to think of any Eros bloodline in the book, but he ca up blank.
’...honestly...isn’t this book more like the unedited and unrefined version before the author changed their mind? It’s as if the actual plot of the book isn’t written until the real writing! Everything is not as it seems...’
That fact frustrated Ace, and he let out a sarcastic laugh. "Don’t tell the Eros bloodline is related to a demon lord or a Dragon."
Darius Faulkner raised a brow. "Why?"
Ace wanted to shake his head. "Because that would be too cliché."
Darius snorted. He seed to be in a good mood. "The Eros bloodline didn’t have such origins. But it was cursed."
Now, that was a surprise. It got Ace’s attention. "Cursed? By who?"
"It’s complicated. It has to do with Dolor and so millions of people." Darius stared at him intently. "You should know more than I do. It’s your family’s history."
Ace snorted coldly. "Maybe I would know it if you hadn’t killed my family."
Darius smiled then and nodded. "Seems you haven’t recovered all your mories then. I’ll just wipe you clean again. This ti you won’t be a student. You will be my son."
Ace felt a chill run down his spine. "What?"
"You are already fused with the seed. It will take ti, years, to extract it from your body. I won’t have you causing trouble until then, so I’ll just keep you quiet."
Ace realized that he had underestimated the situation he was in. Wipe his mories? "What the fuck, Darius! Haven’t you done enough? What are you really after?"
Darius smiled. "The survival of humanity. And you, Ace Eros, are going to be part of it. Alas, your sacrifice will only be known to a selected few. You are now Ace Faulkner. You will die for my family."
Ace smiled bitterly. Ah... an extra in the truest sense of the word. To die sowhere so quietly that he wouldn’t even leave a ripple behind.
Ace hated it.
Even his na was going to be changed?
