Aiden woke to quiet.

Not the absence of sound, but the presence of it—soft breathing beside him, the distant toll of morning bells drifting through open windows, the whisper of silk curtains stirring in a breeze that slled faintly of incense and high-altitude rain.

Calipso slept at his side.

The saintess lay on her back, one hand curled loosely near her collarbone, pale hair spilled across the pillow like moonlight given form.

Even in sleep, there was tension in her brow, as if the world refused to release her entirely. The capital had that effect on people. It demanded awareness, vigilance, allegiance—even in dreams.

Aiden watched her for a mont longer than necessary.

Not out of tenderness.

Out of calculation.

Calipso was not naïve. She was perceptive, dangerous in a quiet way. And she had chosen—consciously or not—to remain at his side. That alone made her important.

He rose without waking her.

The sheets slid away soundlessly, and the morning air kissed his skin, cool and sharp. Aiden crossed the chamber barefoot, every step unhurried, every movent controlled.

The room itself was a masterpiece of excess—arched ceilings traced with gold filigree, enchanted glass windows that filtered light into warm hues, walls lined with relics and sigils that humd faintly with dormant power.

This was the capital.

Where faith was currency.

And power was hoarded like breath.

Aiden stopped before the balcony doors and exhaled.

[System Interface — Opened]

The familiar translucent glyphs blood into existence before his eyes, hovering patiently.

Rewards Pending.

He smiled.

Not wide. Not sharp.

Satisfied.

"Show ," he murmured.

The system pulsed.

[Reward Summary — Night of Convergence]

• New Incubus Skill Acquired

• Store System — Unlocked

• Evolution Seed x1 (Type: Unknown — Tiered)

Aiden’s eyes narrowed slightly.

That... was more than expected.

Lilith did not overpay without reason.

He focused on the first notification.

[New Skill — Covenant of Dominion]

A conditional binding skill.

Allows the formation of a Master–Vassal bond when all internal requirents are fulfilled.

Effects can be scaled without consent, emotional dependency, and spiritual alignnt.

Warning: Improper use may trigger backlash.

Aiden chuckled under his breath.

"Of course," he said softly. "You always did prefered force over elegance."

Lilith did not respond.

She never did—not directly.

But he felt her presence all the sa. Observing. asuring. Amused.

This wasn’t conquest by armies.

This was conquest by inevitability.

He dismissed the window and turned his attention to the next.

[Store System — Unlocked]

Access granted to exchange influence, faith, contracts, and abstract values for assets.

Abstract values.

Aiden’s smile deepened.

Faith. Fear. Loyalty. Desire.

All things the capital overflowed with.

And then—

The final reward.

[Evolution Seed — 1 of 3 Required]

The interface did not elaborate.

It didn’t need to.

Evolution was not sothing handed freely. It was earned. Shaped. Forced into being through circumstance and choice.

Three seeds.

Three thresholds.

He was already on the path.

Aiden stepped onto the balcony.

The capital unfolded before him in breathtaking excess.

A city layered upon itself—marble towers and glass spires, floating sigils and suspended walkways, magic towers pulsing with regulated energy. Below, expensive carriages glided along enchanted roads, rchants in silks and gemstones argued prices that could feed villages for years, and banners bearing noble crests snapped in the wind.

Only the wealthy lived here.

Only the powerful endured.

At the city’s heart rose the imperial palace—vast, mountainous, almost arrogant in scale. It dominated the skyline like a god made of stone, its spires piercing the clouds themselves.

But Aiden’s gaze slid past it.

To the far corner of the capital.

There—proud, ancient, coiled in symbolism and warded power—stood another palace.

Smaller.

But no less imposing.

The sigil of the dragon glead upon its towers.

House Dragon.

Catherine’s bloodline.

And the knot of deception that had drawn him here.

"The board is set," Aiden murmured.

Behind him, Calipso stirred.

He did not turn.

"Still pretending to sleep?" he asked lightly.

A pause.

Then a soft sigh.

"You’re impossible," Calipso said, sitting up. "You always know."

"Because you breathe differently when you lie," Aiden replied.

She watched his bare back, the way the morning light traced pale scars and faint sigils along his spine—marks of contracts, battles, and things that had never been recorded in scripture.

"You’re going to the Dragon Palace," she said.

It wasn’t a question.

"Yes."

"Be careful...and..."

"And?"

"Co back to soon..."

Aiden glanced over his shoulder, eyes calm, amused. "Haha... okay love, wait for then, and yeah you must have heard...."

"..yes, yes, you’re our holy pope now, congratulations. It was just matter of ti..."

Aiden smiled.

That, more than anything, told him how deeply she understood the danger behind those words and the title.

.

.

The Dragon Palace recognized power.

Not titles.

Not proclamations.

Power.

The knight’s sigil on Aiden’s chest glimred faintly as he passed through the outer gates. The twin seals of House rlin and House Leonidus flared in acknowledgnt, ancient wards peeling back like a beast recognizing a familiar scent.

He was admitted without delay.

Without question and there she was, at the front door of the palace.

Flora was waiting.

She stood in the inner courtyard, sunlight caught in her golden hair, her eyes the sa fierce hue—lion-bright, proud, and now... tired.

When she saw him, her composure wavered.

Just for a heartbeat.

"Aiden," she said.

He inclined his head slightly. "Flora."

She crossed the distance between them with restrained steps, fists clenched at her sides as if holding herself together through sheer will.

"You ca."

"I said I would."

Her shoulders loosened a fraction.

They walked beneath towering arches carved with draconic reliefs, the air heavy with ancient magic and unspoken tension.

"Everything is falling apart," Flora said quietly. "Mother barely sleeps. Luna is... distant. Busy. Angry. I don’t know which. Aunt Sabrina and her husband—" She shook her head. "They fought. Badly."

Aiden listened.

Every word slotted neatly into place.

"And your father?" he asked.

Flora stopped.

The world seed to still with her.

Her golden eyes dimd, gaze dropping to the marble floor.

"I... don’t know," she said. "No one does. Not really."

Silence stretched.

Heavy.

Loaded.

Aiden closed the distance between them and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Firm.

Reassuring.

"Then listen to ," he said. "Everything will be okay."

She looked up, disbelief warring with desperate hope.

"You always say that."

"And I’m always right."

And for so reason that broke her. She felt it, The pillar of support she needed had co.

Flora stepped forward suddenly, arms wrapping around him, pressing her forehead against his chest as a soft, choked sound escaped her.

"I missed you," she whispered. "So much."

Aiden rested his hand against her back, steady.

"I know."

"I missed you too," he murmured, voice low, velvet-rough.

His hand moved again—slow, deliberate—fingers splaying possessively over her lower back, pressing her closer until her body molded against his. Heat flared between them, sudden and undeniable.

Flora’s head tilted back, golden eyes half-lidded, lips parting on a soft gasp as she felt the hard evidence of his arousal against her belly.

"Aiden...not here, not now." she breathed, voice trembling with need she’d buried for too long.

He didn’t answer with words.

"It’s gonna be alright, you’re my fiancee..."

His mouth found hers—slow, claiming, devastating. The kiss started gentle, almost tender, but deepened quickly into sothing hungry. His tongue slid against hers, tasting, teasing, drawing a muffled moan from her throat that vibrated against his lips.

Flora lted, hands sliding up his chest, clutching at his robes as if anchoring herself. Aiden backed her slowly against one of the carved dragon pillars, the cool stone a sharp contrast to the heat building between them.

His hands road—sliding down to cup her ass, lifting her slightly so she rose on her toes, thighs parting instinctively around his hip. The thin silk of her gown rode up; his palm found bare skin, warm and soft, fingers tracing the edge of her underwear before slipping beneath.

She gasped into his mouth as his fingers brushed slick heat.

"So wet already," he growled against her lips, voice rough with approval.

"You’ve been waiting for this."

"Yes—" she whimpered, hips rocking into his touch. "Always—only for you—"

He stroked her slowly—teasing circles over her clit, then deeper, two fingers sliding inside her tight heat. She moaned louder, head falling back against the pillar, golden hair spilling like sunlight.

SLAP—his free hand ca down lightly on her ass, the sound sharp in the quiet courtyard. She jolted, clenching around his fingers with a desperate cry.

"Quiet," he murmured, lips trailing hot kisses down her throat. "Or do you want the whole palace to hear how badly you need ?"

Flora bit her lip, but another moan escaped as he curled his fingers inside her, stroking that perfect spot until her thighs trembled.

He withdrew suddenly—she whimpered at the loss—but only long enough to free himself from his robes. Thick, hard, ready. He lifted her fully, pinning her against the pillar, her legs wrapping around his waist as he guided himself to her entrance.

He entered her in one slow, deliberate thrust—stretching, filling, claiming.

Flora’s cry was raw, muffled against his shoulder as pleasure bordered on overwhelm.

"Fuck—you’re perfect—as always." he groaned, hips rolling deep, grinding against her clit with every stroke.
