Damien could not use his strongest ability. There were too many students still inside the chamber.
If he created even a miniature sun here, the resulting explosion would not only kill Marbas. It could kill the unconscious students as well.
That was not a risk he was willing to take.
Noah slowly pushed himself back to his feet. Pain spread throughout his entire body. His ribs hurt. His muscles ached.
His mana reserves were also running low. Yet his blue eyes remained locked on Marbas.
The demon stood in the center of the ruined chamber. He was also wounded. Missing an arm. Covered in cuts and burns.
Yet still standing. Still stronger than all of them. Noah tightened his grip around his spear.
’We have no choice.’ He thought gravely.
’No matter what happens... we have to keep fighting.’
Nearby, Damien also stood up. For a brief mont, their eyes t.
Ocean blue eyes t hazel eyes.
No words were needed. Both of them understood exactly what the other was thinking.
The fight wasn’t over. And now they need to go all out no matter what would be the conclusion of this battle.
Golden light suddenly began to shine from Damien’s body. The glow spread across his skin and clothes.
His wounds slowly started healing. The cuts on his body closed little by little. His eyes turned completely golden.
Light mana surged through every part of his body. Unlike before, normal mana was no longer circulating inside him.
Only light remained. Heat radiated from him as if a star had awakened inside his chest.His special ability had activated.
Solar Core.
The temperature around him rose slightly.
Noah quickly reached into his storage pouch. He pulled out a healing potion and a mana recovery potion.
Without hesitation, he drank both. The familiar warmth spread through his body.
It wasn’t enough to fully restore him. But it would keep him fighting.
Marbas noticed Damien imdiately.
His violet eyes narrowed. For the first ti since the battle began, his expression beca serious.
The golden light surrounding Damien felt wrong.
It was unnatural. It felt very dangerous and uncomfortable.
Even to a demon like him.
"What are you, boy?" Marbas asked curiously. The energy radiating from him was just too mysterious for the demon.
But before Damien could answer. A shadow moved behind Marbas.
There was no sound of footsteps.
Nor there was any warning.
Yet Marbas still sensed it. Or more like his instinct told him.
He instantly turned around.
A dagger coated in pure darkness slashed toward his neck.
The attacker was Kaelan. The one who was laying down before,but now standing once again. His hair were ssy when gray eyes were calm and cold.
Marbas reacted imdiately. His remaining fist shot forward. Dark violet mana covered his arm.
BOOM!
The fist collided with Kaelan’s dagger.
A powerful shockwave exploded outward. Cracks spread across the nearby floor.
However, sothing unusual happened.The dark violet mana coating Marbas’s fist began disappearing.
It flowed into Kaelan’s body.
It was being absorbed.
Marbas frowned after watching it. His attack had beco weaker.
Kaelan’s ability, Black Star, allowed him to absorb mana from incoming attacks and reduce their power.
Unfortunately, the ability had limits. He could not use it constantly. Nor could he absorb too much mana at once.
Even after weakening the attack, the impact was still enormous.
"Argh!"
Kaelan was thrown backward. His body crashed across the stone floor. Blood appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Still, he forced himself back up. His breathing was rough. His body trembled from the damage.
Marbas looked at him. "You got up again, young man. Why are you trying so hard.."
The demon’s voice was calm.
"Do you really think it will change anything?"
Suddenly, a flash of golden light shot toward him.
Damien had attacked when Marbas hot distracted by Kaelan.
Two large magic circles appeared behind him. They glow with sa golden light.
The first circle released a giant lance made entirely of light.
The second fired a concentrated beam of golden energy.
At the sa ti, Damien rushed forward with his sword.
Marbas snorted while watching him coming. Dark violet energy exploded from his body. Unlike most demons, Marbas relied heavily on martial combat.
His fists were his weapons. His body was his weapon. He dashed toward Damien.
Golden light and violet energy collided.
BOOM!
Marbas avoided the incoming spells with incredible speed. The lance and beam crashed into the floor behind him.
Massive explosions followed.
Stone shattered. Dust filled the air.
anwhile, Mary was moving around the battlefield. She carefully dragged unconscious students away from the fighting area.
Her eyes were worried while watching them.
She was in good condition compare to others, but not strong enough to fight...so she helped other in whichever way she could do.
CLANG!
BOOM!
Damien’s sword collided with Marbas’s fist.
Shockwaves spread through the chamber.
Marbas smiled slightly. "You’ve beco stronger, boy. Is that so kind of ability?"
Damien didn’t reply. His focus remained completely on the battle.
He waited.Then he found an opening.
His leg shot forward.
BAM!
The kick landed directly on Marbas’s ribs. For the first ti in several monts, the demon was forced backward.
He slid several ters across the floor.
Boah was waiting for this mont.
So at the sa mont, Noah arrived. Cold mana erupted around him.
Eight ice weapons appeared in the air.
They were two spears, two swords, two axes and two arrows. All of them floated around Noah.
His face was pale. His eyes were bloodshot. A vein bulged on his forehead. Throbbing violently as if it would burst open at any mont.
He was forcing his Ice Creation ability beyond its normal limits.
The strain was imnse.
Still, he didn’t stop.
Thkse weapon had appeared around Marbus in all directions.
With a snap of his fingers, all eight weapons launched forward.
They attacked from every direction.
So attacked from above. Few move in down side.
Left and right side of demon.
Every angle was covered.
Marbas clicked his tongue.
"No chance."
His remaining arm moved rapidly.
Punch.
Deflect.
Punch.
Deflect.
Several ice weapons shattered. But before he could fully recover.
Noah slamd his spear against the floor.
CRACK!
A thin layer of ice spread across the ground.
It moved quickly. Reaching Marbas in an instant. The floor beneath the demon froze solid.
