Chapter 126: A Total Cheat…

Axel humd thoughtfully, seeing the details of his Nexus Panel, nothing much had changed except for 3 things: gaining the Energy Sense skill, it had to be noted that Non-Aspectual skills were among the rarest in this world, as they remain useful no matter what aspect is currently active. Not only that, Lucien’s own skill, which he used to perceive the world without the 5 senses, is called Aura Sense. It is sothing that will later evolve into Dragon Sense, and it’s a non-aspectual skill. It’s related to his 2nd aspect.

Then there were his Runic eyes, which were initially a subset of his ‘Absolute Runecaster’ title. Now it had beco a skill of its own, not only that its na changed to ‘Mutated Runic Eyes’, but its effects were vague before, but now they were clear, the biggest advantage of it being usable even when his second aspect is active.

The 100 unallocated stats were another boon that he gained. And that was a pretty big deal as well, because one can see that even when he perford so so well within the trial, he did not gain a single unallocated stat. Even when 10-20 unallocated stats are gained, you have to perform so kind of close-to-impossible level of task. It seems what he discovered was pretty goddamn big deal, for him to gain such significant boons.

Pri Nexus also indicated that his natural comprehension has increased by 2x. Axel closed his eyes and began to think carefully. That’s right, his thoughts felt faster, much, much faster. He is unable to tell whether it was 2 tis faster or less, but it was fast, and his mind was much lighter and refreshed, and this was without activating his new runic eyes.

To give a bit of context here, comprehension was one of the untraceable stats, much like charm and Dexterity, maybe Luck as well. But the author specifically stated that, back when he was reading the story, ‘Luck’ does not exist in this world of Eldarion, only manipulation does. Though he was doubtful about how much of it was true.

Now, it was ti to test out the new eyes and his new skills. As well as his created weapons, for a mont, he thought about what would be the best way to test these things out. Go to the beast forest, or maybe have a mock fight with Heinz.

Eventually, he decided to just go to the beast forest and hunt a 2nd tier beast, even though he did trust Heinz, Axel still felt like being cautious was better for now. But he would reveal his full strength as a runecaster in the fortress war competition. Just the thought of it brought a smile on his face, now that would so fucking exciting, a proper stage to do as well.

First thing Axel did before venturing into the beast forest was to spread the word through Heinz and Vyra as well and Lumina that he would sell weapons to everyone from the next week.

Then he went deep into the beast forest, in the second area, the place teeming with 2nd tier beasts, by now, the previous problem was still not solved. Axel surmised that the academy authorities let it be for the students to solve it for themselves.

Axel reckoned that either any of the top 10 students should be able to solve whatever the problem was, most likely they intentionally left it be for whatever reason it may be; he didn’t rember much about this particular issue from the story, it was most likely not a major issue to begin with.

Suddenly, while walking through the large vegetation of the forest itself, he spotted a sowhat skinny gorilla-like beast. The beast also intently noticed him, not that he was trying to be subtle in the first place. He wanted to be noticed as well.

The Gorilla looked at him with an intense gaze and let out so wild sounds from its mouth, Axel could clearly see the gleam of intelligence in its eyes. It was quite intelligent, actually. It jumped onto a nearby tree and looked around to see if it was an obvious ambush or sothing. It soon realized he was alone, the beast looked at him, its expression changed.

Axel could surmise from its hideous looks that it was smiling, thinking it had found an easy prey. In truth, the academy, for most of the students, will not care if you die by any creature’s hand within the beast forest. It won’t shelter you from everything. If you can’t survive in this artificially created beast forest, you won’t survive the horrors of the outside world either. Especially the things outside of the Human Lands.

The beast cackled sohow in happiness from what Axel could see, and he also showed a smile of his own, and with a ntal command, a runic sword appeared in his hand. It was a sword that cackled with sparks of blue lightning occasionally. For a mont, the beast beca weary of the weapon. Axel did not attack; he kept observing the beast, and the beast did the sa. Eventually, it decided not to run away.

It swung its large but skinny body in a branch of a tree, its body shot into the air, from high above it was diving down towards Axel, intending to smash him into a at paste in literally one go, Axel chuckled as he poured his mana into the magic circuit, and the sword began to produce buzzing noises for the electricity of it constantly clashing with the air particles.

The gorilla-like beast howled loudly while diving down, an obvious intimidation tactic by the beasts. Axel activated his new ‘mutated runic eyes’ for a mont; the world in Axel’s eyes changed entirely. Not only did it not visually change, rather he started working almost twice as fast. Things turned slightly slow in his eyes, but the biggest thing was that he could understand.

He could instinctively understand small things, clues about the various weaknesses ways to deal with them.

The simplest way to describe his eyes was like how Sherlock Hols would inspect a cri scene. Just as that legendary detective would capture all the main details and conclude the case in a re instant if he had all the necessary information, it is exactly like he acquired the brain of Sherlock Hols upon activation of his eyes.

But no, actually, these weren’t nearly as good as that or on that level, at least not yet. Maybe it would be in the future, perhaps. He focused back on the falling beast, it was just about to smash into him, with a powerful swing of his arm and loud stomp on the ground he jumped high in the sky and made clean horizontal slash as a gale of lightning shot out of his sword and struck the beast, Axel landed on the ground gracefully after that one clash.

A loud sound of sothing very heavy hitting the ground could be heard. Axel looked back and saw the headless body of the beast lying on the ground. With another thud, its head fell to the ground right after. He had already deactivated his runic eyes. He cursed aloud, the runic eyes now consud twice as much mana, or maybe more; it was really costly.

But that was beside the point, he smiled, a powerful goddamn 2nd tier beast was dead in one simple swing of his sword. Mana reserves be damned, it was a total fucking cheat now.
