Chapter 198: Defending The Fortress [10]
The reason he vanished from the fight and hid himself after a certain point, that he then waited for the enemy third division to barely have any remaining mana left, so that they could not detect his presence under the bridge. And he also had to wait for the mont when Heinz’s division would push back the enemy’s first division further on the bridge. So that he could smoothly duck under it without any enemy Seekers seeing or sensing him.
After all, because of the communication bands, if just one seeker saw it, this would be relayed to their division leader, and then it would reach their commander in no ti. So, the entire thing had to be discreet, otherwise the enemy would not let him reach the opposite side.
Another reason why this could work is that the bridge itself is on a lower surface level compared to both of the lands, especially when lots of people are on it, it hangs even lower. And so, he began to crawl, sticking to the back of the bridge, slowly and silently, just as he was right below the enemy third division, he received a ssage.
[The runic arrows will be fired in 2 minutes.]
He grimaced internally, hearing that, ‘And here I thought I could be slow and careful. Damn it.’
Even though it was risky and if soone were to notice the subtle extra movent of the bridge they could potentially discover him, but thankfully to cover him up, the fire arrows began to rain down slightly faster and spread in a much wider area, so the enemy Seeker’s didn’t have any opportunity to notice sothing like that, but the best part, no one in their sane mind would even think that the defending section will actually do sothing like this.
While grinning, he moved faster and faster, eventually he reached the other side of the bridge, and at that very instant his rune engraved arrows started raining down, it was truly a spectacle to see, arrows infused with white lightening was raining down from the blue sky, one could even say that it was a majestic sight in a way. Unfortunately, his enemies didn’t have that sa blissful appreciation for his arrows as himself.
To them, it was nothing but a nightmare when they were already at a massive disadvantage and out of mana. So, Axel hurriedly activated a special artifact swiftly and placed it on the ground gently. To his luck, all of the fortifiers seem to be busy with the siege machines, so no Seekers were placed here. The artifact smoothly activated, and all the enemy Seekers would simply see the sa view, and no one would escape from here, as he would have to take the entire enemy third division down alone.
He chuckled and turned around, as he saw the third division mbers fleeing with all of their might from his rune arrows, his smile turned even more pleasant, so many beautiful ladies running like that was truly a sight to behold, as their bountiful assets jumped up and down. Truly, what a sight.
As those at the front saw his figure and stopped, he gave the most charming and alluring smile he could give and said to them in his heavenly voice,
“Beautiful ladies! I just can’t seem to let you pass?”
As he expected, first they stopped out of pure shock, but the ladies were utterly stunned, he thought to himself in amusent.
‘This is likely sothing she can do against males, though considering how disgustingly high her charm is, if she actually uses it, I’m afraid even a man with above average willpower will likely beco her dog in an instant and simply lose their minds. Thankfully, she is too proud to ever do such a thing.’
But of course, Axel didn’t exactly stop them just for the sake of it, he could have just attacked them directly, his runic eyes in their passive form scanned each one of them intently, understanding every one of their energy levels and an overall best way to swiftly take out all of them, in the fastest ti possible. When he was done analyzing all that with his mind, in just a few seconds of a window.
One of boys were about to curse at him loudly, but his attack on them also comnced right at that mont, and that was how he had co, face to face with 80 fortifiers of the attackers encircling him, not including the commander of the enemies right at the front, asking the question, that how he had reached this side without anyone even noticing? Axel stated with a benign smile, “Well, I know you’re buying ti, but that’s fine, I’ll indulge you. Not like it will change anything.”
“It’s quite simple, really. We just created a perfect opportunity when your third division is on a very low mana, and your first division is pushed back a bit on the bridge. Then, using an artifact that obscures my presence.
And..” he smiled like a demon, pointed his finger downwards and added, “Crawled under the bridge using a special pair of boots and gloves which let stick to the back of the bridge.”
He then threw both of his arms wide in a welcoming gesture and stated in a bold proclamation, “And….so, here I am.”
Jaden clapped in a mocking gesture and nodded, “Indeed, here you are.”
Axel’s playful expression in the next mont vanished, as his face turned serious, he retracted his spread hands, and with a silent command, a sword engraved with multiple similar but large golden runes appeared in his right palm.
All 80 of the fortifiers tensed unintentionally, seeing him bring out a weapon as well as the sudden shift in his nature. Jaden Redmar also squinted his eyes with apparent wariness, sensing the terrifying power of the sword; there were three similar-looking runes engraved in it, and the blue runes each seed to shimr in blue lightning.
Not only that, multiple runes in Axel’s attire all slightly lit up in a golden hue. His peak crystalline mana moved and spread into every part of his body, the magic circuit in him activated, and increased his strength trendously as well.
His mutated runic eyes remained in their passive form. As he was entering combat, the runic swordsman’s skill again boosted his combat prowess. Jaden Redmar frowned to himself as the power emanating from Axel Nomrad seed to be increasing more and more with each passing second.
