Axel already knew that there were too many factors to consider when infiltrating a specialized assassin sect like the Hand of Umbra: it was close to impossible to succeed, and since Halden himself was a sort of traitor to the sect, it was uncertain that he would know the organization’s essential secrets.
Axel brought out his only 2nd tier rune sword. Charging it up with his demonic energy. His skull mask with Horn’s took a malevolent hue. This ti, his own killing intent pressed onto the mighty 4th phase powerhouse.
He asked, his demonic voice sending an ominous ripple through the air, "7th Umbra. I will give you two options. One, you die. The Second, you die."
The powerhouse had already taken multiple steps backward from the turn of events. The Seventh Umbra was no easy nut to crack. Unlike Count Halden, this was a 4th phase powerhouse; this wasn’t soone who would lose all willpower just because he’s seen a dreaded demon for the first ti.
Seventh Umbra asked the demon in apprehension, "WHY? WHY HAVE DEMONS CO TO OUR LAND?"
Axel laughed, making the man’s heart tremble; even the emotionless assassins behind showed signs of fear, and Axel whispered, "To wreak Havoc, of course."
The expression on the face of the Seventh Umbra turned incomparably cold, as he said in resolution, "Then you shall be the one to die... DEMON."
AND....
No more words were needed, as a terrifying explosion occurred inside the excavated structure. The entire mountain shook as the 4th-phase human assassin clashed with the demon Osiris.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!
The wild animals that lived throughout the mountain had their natural ecosystem destroyed in an instant. Demonic Energy overtook the entire mountain range, corroding all natural life. Everything died through slow and agonizing decay.
Seventh Umbra was forced backwards at the first head-on clash; his instincts were screaming at him. Humans had an inherent fear of both the Dragons and the Demons, the two strongest species on the continent.
But his powerful nature negated that fear; he fought against his own assassin’s instincts. He was shocked to see that he was losing in direct combat, even though the demon was only 2nd phase. This brought another wave of panic to his heart.
An initial 2nd phase Demon matching against a veteran 4th phase expert. No wonder humanity was the single weakest race on the continent.
So he proceeded to do what he did best as an assassin: fight like a hidden killer. He ordered through a ntal transmission, and instantly, more than 200 late 2nd-phase assassins drew their bows and cast red-colored flaming arrows.
A sea of fiery red arrows shot at Axel from all angles; however, since he was already brutally engaging with Seventh Umbra, he could not make a move to dodge or block all those mighty arrows, and without exercising proper technique, Axel could not fend them off.
Just when Axel thought the flaming arrows would also hit the Seventh Umbra alongside him, the 4th phase assassin moved back through a strange movent technique. He seed to step on very air itself and jumped backwards just in the nick of ti, avoiding all the flaming arrows that smashed onto Axel, so even piercing his demon skin.
Just as he was about to retaliate, the entire floor beneath him cracked, and Axel felt a sense of danger for his very life. He fell into the unknown darkness.
As if waiting for that very mont, Seventh Umbra opened his mouth wide and scread. A concentrated sonic ntal wave rattled Axel’s mind for a small instant, and he was immobilized in the midst of falling from the air.
He was stunted by the technique that could immobilize him even in the half-demon state.
As he fell deeper beyond the ground level into the darkness, Axel struggled madly but could not co free of the ntal bind, and the smiling face of the Seventh Umbra only grew distant as the assassin seed pretty sure that Axel was about to et his end.
Squelch.....
A loud, flesh-piercing sound reverberated in the entire space. Axel fell on top of a 10-ter-long, enormous spike in the underground, and it tore through his chest, impaling him. Only the pain of it was able to break him away from the ntal stun of the Sonic attack.
Hundreds of sharp, long spears shot at his location as if the trap was set for precisely formidable foes like him; anyone who broke inside the Hand of Umbra’s branches was destined to die. In the last minute of action, Axel protected his head with all the power he could muster, using the 2nd tier sword.
And countless sharp, long spears had pierced through almost every part of his body. The massive spike impaling his chest was dyed dark crimson with the demon’s blood. The pain he felt in that mont was overwhelming.
On one hand, his demon blood was trying to regenerate his wounds, but the spears skewered in his body would not let the wounds close.
However, a notification whispered into his mind like a long-lost lover...
[You have unlocked the 2nd heart of the Demon Species. Your bloodline has beco stronger.]
[Your demon blood has been infused with a trace of the SIN OF DESPAIR]
Axel felt a profound change occur inside him; that’s right, hearing the ssage, he grinned so wide that his mouth threatened to split.
Axel rembered suddenly that there was a small, unassuming parchnt hidden in Damien’s rune chamber as if it were sothing that was not supposed to be found or read by anyone.
It read, ’Demons have only two ways to grow stronger. One is through slaughter and bloodshed, and 2nd is through near-death battles.’
As the 2nd demon heart ford inside of him, a pulse of power radiated outward from him; his new heartbeat was so loud that even the gleeful Seventh Umbra watching from above heard it. With such grave injuries, the demon bloodline only generated more power.

The assassin felt it.
The increasing power of the bloody demon. Seeing Osiris’s inhumane smile, he was shocked at how this... thing was still alive. Was it even possible to have such a powerful life force?
As Axel’s blood took on the property of despair, all the spears and the massive spike impaling him started to lt. The decaying potency of his blood had grown too powerful.
And all the holes and injuries in his body healed at a visible rate. Axel floated in mid-air, and the white skull mask of Osiris was now dyed in crimson. He looked more ominous than ever. A big reason his head was protected was the mask on his face.
It seed less like a mask and more like an extra skin on his face at this point, because all the expressions he made were mimicked through this mask, which invoked even greater fear in his enemies.
Axel floated higher and higher through a downward propulsion of his demonic energy. He could see clearly that they were preparing for another attack above. But he didn’t mind, he asked, "Seventh Umbra, that skill of yours, was it like this?"
Axel’s mouth opened wide through the skull mask, and he let out a mighty scream...
GLLLAAAAAUUUURRRRHHHHH!!!
Compared to the effect of Seventh Umbras Rattling Scream, this was much more powerful as it carried the power of his demonic energy as well as a trace of despair. This ti, Seventh Umbra and his 200 late-2nd-phase assassins were all paralyzed.
Like a Lamb waiting for Slaughter, and the slaughterer was coming towards them, with no one to block him.
