As soon as the two of them reached the massive gateway of the Royal Palace. The gates opened for them without requiring any family identity plaque.

Because who would not know of these two, Vyra Vanelis and Axel Nomrad, with their current standing on the political landscape of the Suncrest Great Kingdom? Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, Axel was actually garnering more attention from the usual masses than even Vyra herself.

This spoke volus about how remarkably popular Axel’s immaculate rune tools had beco for lower-level Seekers of Suncrest. The news of the Vex family’s complete massacre also spread like wildfire. Without the core runecaster aspect holders, who constantly produce rune tools to sell. That faction had beco an empty na now, and a subject of ridicule.

Given humanity’s current precarious situation and the confird war within a month at most, Axel beca an invaluable asset to the royal family from a macro perspective. Since the previous golden goose, which could produce the best rune tools of humanity, was gone. They had to protect this new and budding golden goose, who could make even better rune tools.

Axel looked to the side and saw Vyra’s teasing expression vanish from the mont they entered the grounds of the royal palace, keeping a neutral expression. A servant ca to their service instantly, leading them to a guest room to await further instructions.

Right before entering the royal building, he looked up beyond the palace, and behind it stood the towering black pillar. The very pillars that were the source of Nexus stones, through the lding of which one becos a Seeker.

As one learns about their new state of existence after becoming a seeker and learns to control the various facets of their abilities, they gradually learn to hide the Nexus Imprint on their hands.

On the way, many influential figures, both small and large, seem to co on their own accord and greet Vyra first, then him.

As Vyra herself remained a subject of complete adoration by any party. Because if he was the next generation’s greatest runecaster, then she was the next generation’s greatest alchemist hands down.

Even though Axel did not know the identities of most individuals he t, he greeted them all with smiles, leaving a polite, positive first impression and using his high natural charm to his advantage. In fact, many noble won seem a bit too eager towards him, which was quite troubleso.

After they were both seated in a luxurious guest room and served so complintary delicacies, Axel asked, "So, how long do we have to wait?"

Vyra looked at him and put a finger on her lips, gesturing to him to be quiet, but Axel smiled, "Don’t worry. I have disabled the surveillance channels in this room. They can’t hear or see any of the conversation. That bastard is still so obnoxious. Testing like this even before we et face to face."

Vyra frowned, "So, Prince Lucien was testing you purposely on whether you can pick up on the surveillance artifacts or not?"

Axel nodded, "He was testing how good I am....Hmm, he should be coming in soon, perhaps."

Vyra scowled, "Then why did you even ask that?"

Axel looked at her like he was looking at a prehistoric monkey, "Just to see your dumb reaction..."

"You Bastard...." she beca furious.

Axel moved from his seat before her punch could land and said hurriedly, "Okay, okay, stop. I’ll tell you sothing about Heinz that you didn’t know before."

Her fists stopped in mid-air, and seeing her interested expression, Axel stated, "You will find that you would get along with him much better if you stop acting like a good little princess. You do know, he hates pretty much all high society. Suppose you act like an unhinged hooligan without all that noble Decorum. He will fall for you even harder."

She looked at him with great suspicion, "You’re not lying, right?"

Axel held both of his hands high, in the gesture of surrender, "That’s what he told in the first place. Like he genuinely wished that you would stop confining yourself in all that noble etiquette, at least when you’re with him."

She beca quiet and sat down, lost in her own thoughts.

Axel sneered internally. Did he speak the truth? Of course not, that was complete bullshit. In fact, it was the complete opposite; two boys could get along if they acted like ruffians with one another, but when it ca to girls, it was naturally the opposite.

Heinz had blabbered on and on to him so many tis about how cute Vyra was. When she acted so shy and loving around him, he couldn’t help but smile darkly, thinking about how Heinz would react seeing her precious girl behaving like a gangster.

Before he could continue his train of dubious thoughts, his keen senses, which breached the isolation of the room, picked up the soft footsteps of soone approaching, the door opened, and a girl ca in. She had golden hair and light red eyes, wearing a beautiful smile that brightened the very world around her.

She was pristine, she was holy, she was untainted by the darkness that eventually encroaches on all. She was like the first ray of sunshine. The purest of the light. Amid the corrupted family line of Suncrest. She was a kind soul.

She was a sheep surrounded by Hyenas. And she had beco even more beautiful, even brighter, and more mature with her awakening of the Luminaries’ bloodline. For a mont, Axel couldn’t take his eyes away from her. Not because he felt sothing for her, no, it was just because she was just that unique a beauty, a flower that blood with complete kindness and love.

In fact, his demon bloodline felt sowhat repulsed by the attribute of ’peace’ flowing through her veins. Even so, she was perhaps the only one truly pure on this dark and brutal continent. The world itself treasured her and wanted to protect her.

She was the flower too easy to be destroyed; that’s precisely why she needed to be protected at all costs. Wearing a bright sunshine smile, she greeted her friend first, "Vyra..."

Vyra also bead in joy and reciprocated the hug, "Lumi..."

Axel involuntarily smiled, and suddenly Lumina’s bright, big red eyes turned to him; for a mont, she was utterly taken aback, losing her royal composure.

Axel Nomrad was now more than 6 feet tall. His physique was well-defined by the gradual assimilation of the demon bloodline; he looked like a Greek god, even beneath the heavy attire, mostly white with blue stripes and golden runes.

His hair was light blue; he had a handso face and a charm no woman could look away from, but perhaps what most drew the attention of any female was his ocean-like, rippling blue eyes. His slight smile made Lumina’s heart beat faster.

She had to make a visible effort on her part to look away from his majestic eyes; she looked at Vyra questioningly. The latter felt sowhat conflicted about the princess’s loss of composure. Even though she had already warned Lumina many tis that Axel was a lecherous bastard she should stay away from.

It seems it all went to the west; the ntal defenses of this princess were thoroughly shattered at first sight. Vyra hoped things would change since her mories of Axel had been erased. But it seed like so things ca down to the sa point, no matter how the circumstances changed, as if it was always ant to be that way.

Vyra sighed, "Lumina, this is Axel Nomrad. You may or may not have t him at the academy, since he was always extrely lowkey and was hiding his true appearance. Like Prince Lucien, he was stranded on another side of the island when the ghost race had attacked."

Well, this was the made-up story that Axel told her to speak, to lessen the suspicion sowhat, as his striking appearance did not really help in this situation. For the prince and princess to know nothing about Axel, even though he attended the sa academy as them.

Axel took a small step closer to Lumina, wearing a pleasant smile. He gave a slight but respectful bow. "It’s an honor to et you again, 5th princess...."

Lumina’s cheeks turned bright red instantly, "Uhm, oh, yes, an honor...to et ......." "No, I ant.... Nice to et... You, Axel...."

"Mr. Axel..."

Her face turned even redder at such a fumble of words, seeing such a sight, Axel could not help but chuckle at how cute it was....

Seeing him laugh, her entire face flushed red in heat, not just her cheeks. She was dazed. Vyra shook Lumina, holding her shoulders, so that she would snap out of it. She also glared at Axel. Axel shut his mouth and snapped back to his senses.

What the heck was he doing? He absolutely could not deal with the sa shit all over again...

But also because he could not beco the source of her heartache, not again....

Thankfully, for once, the damn snake-like bastard made his entry at the perfect ti to break up the strangeness of the situation.

The Golden Prince, walking in wide strides and a confident smile, entered. His posture carried royal authority, his gaze carried an innate superiority complex that could barely be hidden. He first gave a slight nod towards Vyra, then turned to him.

Wearing a polite smile, Lucien spoke, "If it is not the famous Axel Nomrad....we finally et. I heard a lot about you."
