"Co in."

A soft and innocent voice ca from behind the door… but the tone was anything but that.

Hell, if I were water, I would've frozen just from hearing it. Okay, maybe that was a slight exaggeration but I needed sothing to keep my mind occupied because I was about to et the strongest student in the academy.

A peak B-Rank, right on the verge of stepping into superhuman territory and more importantly… A certified nutcase brocon, hiding behind a serious and cold deanor.

Yeah, this was going to be fun or deadly.

With those thoughts wandering through my head, I stepped into the room while the brown-haired disciplinary guy, Zeon, stayed behind.

I had learned his na on the way here… and how absurdly chill he was. He even gave advice on how to kill cleanly next ti without getting caught.

Not that I needed it.

I an, I had watched enough cri-thriller movies in my previous life to know how that worked.

Even with countless thoughts running through my head, I didn't slow my steps and walked in as the door closed behind .

"Good morning, President Alya."

I greeted the small girl seated behind the desk, most of her body hidden by the table. She had a typical loli build, completely betraying her actual age.

Even at twenty, she still looked like a child. Not that she liked being reminded of that.

But the two obsidian horns rising from her head were proof enough of her pure bloodline among her many siblings.

She looked at coldly. "What are you staring at? Do you think I'm short?"

Damn, so aggressive.

"No, I just didn't expect the president to be so…" I paused deliberately. "So… mature."

Her expression didn't change but the slight twitch at the corner of her lips told everything.

She seed to be proud.

So easy to please.

Her personality really was exactly how the novel had described it.

"Ahem," she coughed. "Now then. Who are you and what offense did you commit?"

My eyes twitched.

Didn't that guy literally state my na before I walked in?

But well… this was a political move. A way to make seem insignificant.

I guess her mind wasn't as small as her body.

Still, I answered.

"I'm Rael Von Ashborn," I said. "And I'm not aware of the offense for which I was brought here."

"Ah… so you're the one," she nodded slowly. "Tell , Rael."

"Why did you kill Rex Valex?"

She tapped her finger lightly on the desk, clearly trying to intimidate but honestly, with her small fra, it was hard to take it seriously.

"I am truly sorry about his death," I said, my smile never wavering. "But I wasn't the one who killed him, ma'am."

"He attacked on my way back to the dorms. I rely defended myself and even then, I never killed him." I paused slightly. "In fact, I healed him in front of everyone."

"But for so reason…" I tilted my head innocently. "He chose to take his own life."

Alya matched my smile. "And why would he do that?"

I put on a look of genuine concern. "Maybe he felt guilty about trying to kill soone weaker than himself…"

"…Or maybe." I added calmly. "He finally realized what it ant to be nothing more than Varek's pawn."

"Hmm, I see." She replied coldly. "But you should know this. Multiple staff mbers witnessed you dragging a mutilated body across the academy grounds."

I froze, then my expression twisted into pure shock, followed by anger as I even gritted my teeth.

"Rex…" I muttered. "He threatened to kill my friend Noah."

My voice lowered. "He said he would kill first… and then kill all my friends. Especially my best friend, Noah. A Demon King successor. All just to clear the path for Varek."

I clenched my fists.

"I begged him to just kill instead he refused… And then sothing inside snapped."

"When I ca back to my senses," I said quietly. "Rex was already lying there… without his limbs. So I dragged him toward Varek, hoping he would save him but Varek didn't even care.

"And maybe that's why…" I added softly. "Rex, abandoned by the one he served, chose to kill himself."

The mont those words left my mouth, an aura exploded inside the room.

"What did you say?" Her voice was flat and far more dangerous than shouting. "Who was he threatening to kill?"

And just like that… I had hooked the brocon. Honestly, I never truly understood how her love worked.

In the novel, her backstory was purely weird.

When they were kids, she had tried to bully Noah. In response, he chopped off her limbs.

She was healed later by her family but…

…for so incomprehensible reason, instead of hating him, she beca obsessively attached and started loving him and stalking him.

Yeah.

She had never even spoken to him and only stalked him from the shadows. So when I claid Noah was my best friend, she had absolutely no way to confirm whether that was true or not.

"He was threatening my only demon friend… Noah," I continued. "He said he was acting on Varek's orders."

"Varek…" She whispered. "Haaa. That bastard… when did he grow the balls to do that?"

"Excuse , President," I cut in.

"You may go." She said, clearly suppressing her emotions. "I'll call you later if I need more details."

"And don't worry about the death." She added flatly. "You did well."

Before I could even respond, her aura surged forward and shoved straight out of the room as the door opened at the perfect mont.

I didn't even get the chance to see her again before the door shut behind .

"Damn." A voice sounded beside . "What did you even say to the president?"

It was Zeon, smiling as casually as ever.

"I just told her what happened," I replied. "She told not to worry about it and said she would call later."

"Ahh, I see," Zeon muttered. "Well, if she said you can leave, you should probably do that before she changes her mind."

"Thanks," I nodded and headed toward the exit.

I was still drenched in blood, and people stared at like I was so kind of weirdo, but I ignored them and didn't bother wiping the smile off my face.

Honestly… Everything had gone even better than I expected.

I had planted a seed against Varek.

I had made her believe I was Noah's best friend and more importantly, I had left a good moral impression.

With those thoughts lingering in my mind, I exited the Student Council building.

Everything was settled for now. I had a few weeks to prepare before dealing with Varek… and for that, I needed one very important thing.

And I knew exactly where to get it.

The Divine Treasury.

The very sa one Seraphina had ntioned to a week ago. A place that, according to the novel, was supposed to descend far into the future…

And yet, sohow, it was descending early.

But more importantly, It held exactly what I needed to make my revenge against Varek perfect… an item which would help to make the worst nightmare of Varek co true.

The object I was looking for wasn't so power-up or anything that would help defeat Varek.

Nope.

I had other plans for that.

The object I wanted served only one purpose…

To make Varek's life utterly miserable after everything was over.

anwhile back in student council president office,

Alya gritted her teeth as her aura burst out, tearing through the office and leaving a ss behind.

She was usually cold and composed, sharp in both mind and action but when it ca to her dearest brother… she simply couldn't keep herself in check.

She didn't even bother confirming the truth behind Rael's words because the Varek she knew was absolutely capable of doing sothing like that.

"How dare he?"

But then… sothing nagged at her.

Didn't Rael say he was Noah's best friend?

Then why… Why isn't he in any of the pictures I have?

But then, she shook her head.

It was probably because the pictures were taken when he wasn't around. She didn't even consider the possibility that Rael had lied.

After all… she was the only one who truly knew how much she adored her little brother.

There was no way soone could casually ntion Noah in her office without understanding that.

If anything, he should have avoided bringing Noah's na up at all, especially since the entire academy knew about the incident where Noah had chopped off her hand during their childhood.

Because of that… She never doubted him.

Her crimson eyes slowly cald as her hair, which had been a ss just monts ago, straightened itself neatly.

Then a chaotic idea surfaced in her mind.

"What if I use him to stalk—" she paused. "…I an, keep an eye on my brother?"
